2 Kings 20
1 In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'
সেই সময় হিষ্কিয় অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েছিলেন এবং তা মৃত্যুজনক হয়ে গেল। আমোষের ছেলে ভাববাদী যিশাইয় তাঁর কাছে গিয়ে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু একথাই বলেন: তুমি বাড়ির সব ব্যবস্থা ঠিকঠাক করে রাখো, কারণ তুমি মরতে চলেছ; তুমি আর সেরে উঠবে না।”
2 And he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,
হিষ্কিয় দেয়ালের দিকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর কাছে এই প্রার্থনা করলেন,
3 'I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth — a great weeping.
“হে সদাপ্রভু, স্মরণ করো, আমি কীভাবে তোমার সামনে বিশ্বস্ততায় ও সম্পূর্ণ হৃদয়ে ভক্তি প্রকাশ করেছি। তোমার দৃষ্টিতে যা কিছু মঙ্গলজনক, আমি তাই করেছি।” এই বলে হিষ্কিয় অত্যন্ত রোদন করতে লাগলেন।
4 And it cometh to pass — Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court — that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,
মাঝখানের প্রাঙ্গণ ছেড়ে যাওয়ার আগেই সদাপ্রভুর বাণী যিশাইয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল:
5 'Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;
“তুমি ফিরে গিয়ে আমার প্রজাদের শাসনকর্তা হিষ্কিয়কে এই কথা বলো, ‘সদাপ্রভু, তোমার পিতৃপুরুষ দাউদের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন: আমি তোমার প্রার্থনা শ্রবণ করেছি ও তোমার অশ্রু দেখেছি; আমি তোমাকে সুস্থ করব। আজ থেকে তৃতীয় দিনের মাথায় তুমি সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে যাবে।
6 and I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'
আমি তোমার জীবনের আয়ুর সঙ্গে আরও পনেরো বছর যোগ করব। এছাড়াও আমি তোমাকে ও এই নগরটিকে আসিরীয় রাজার হাত থেকে উদ্ধার করব। আমার স্বার্থে ও আমার দাস দাউদের স্বার্থেই আমি এই নগরকে রক্ষা করব।’”
7 And Isaiah saith, 'Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay [it] on the boil, and he reviveth.
পরে যিশাইয় বললেন, “ডুমুরফল ছেঁচে একটি প্রলেপ তৈরি করে নাও।” লোকেরা সেরকমই করল এবং সেই বিষফোড়ার উপর সেটি লাগিয়ে দিয়েছিল, ও তিনি সুস্থ হয়ে উঠেছিলেন।
8 And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'What [is] the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'
হিষ্কিয় এর আগে যিশাইয়কে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “সদাপ্রভু যে আমাকে সুস্থ করবেন ও আজ থেকে তৃতীয় দিনের মাথায় আমি যে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে যাব, তার চিহ্ন কী হবে?”
9 And Isaiah saith, 'This [is] to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken — The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'
যিশাইয় উত্তর দিলেন, “সদাপ্রভু তাঁর প্রতিজ্ঞানুসারেই যে সবকিছু করবেন, তোমার কাছে সদাপ্রভুর এই চিহ্নই হবে তার প্রমাণ: সূর্য-ঘড়িতে ছায়াটি কি দশ ধাপ এগিয়ে যাবে, না দশ ধাপ পিছিয়ে যাবে?”
10 And Hezekiah saith, 'It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'
“ছায়াটি দশ ধাপ এগিয়ে যাওয়া তো মামুলি এক ব্যাপার,” হিষ্কিয় বললেন। “বরং, সেটি দশ ধাপ পিছিয়েই যাক।”
11 And Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz — backward ten degrees.
তখন ভাববাদী যিশাইয় সদাপ্রভুকে ডেকেছিলেন, এবং সদাপ্রভু আহসের সূর্য-ঘড়ি দিয়ে নেমে যাওয়া সেই ছায়াটিকে দশ ধাপ পিছিয়ে দিলেন।
12 At that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;
সেই সময় বলদনের পুত্র, ব্যাবিলনের রাজা মরোদক-বলদন হিষ্কিয়ের কাছে পত্র ও উপহার পাঠালেন, কারণ তিনি হিষ্কিয়ের অসুস্থতার কথা শুনেছিলেন।
13 and Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.
হিষ্কিয় আনন্দের সঙ্গে ওইসব প্রতিনিধিকে গ্রহণ করলেন। তিনি তাঁর ভাণ্ডারগৃহের সবকিছুই তাদের দেখালেন—রুপো, সোনা, সুগন্ধি মশলা ও বহুমূল্য তেল, তাঁর অস্ত্রশস্ত্র ও তাঁর ধনসম্পদের সমস্ত কিছু তাদের দেখালেন। তাঁর রাজপ্রাসাদে বা তাঁর সমস্ত রাজ্যের মধ্যে এমন কিছুই ছিল না, যা হিষ্কিয় তাদের দেখাননি।
14 And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, 'What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, 'From a land afar off they have come — from Babylon.'
তখন ভাববাদী যিশাইয় রাজা হিষ্কিয়ের কাছে গেলেন ও তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “ওই লোকেরা কী বলল এবং ওরা কোথা থেকে এসেছিল?” হিষ্কিয় উত্তর দিলেন, “বহু দূরের এক দেশ থেকে। ওরা ব্যাবিলন থেকে এসেছিল।”
15 And he saith, 'What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, 'All that [is] in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'
ভাববাদী জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “ওরা আপনার প্রাসাদে কী কী দেখল?” হিষ্কিয় বললেন, “ওরা আমার প্রাসাদের সবকিছুই দেখেছে। আমার ঐশ্বর্যভাণ্ডারে এমন কিছুই নেই, যা আমি ওদের দেখাইনি।”
16 And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, 'Hear a word of Jehovah:
তখন যিশাইয় হিষ্কিয়কে বললেন, “আপনি সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শ্রবণ করুন:
17 Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that [is] in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;
সেই সময় অবশ্যই উপস্থিত হবে, যখন আপনার প্রাসাদে যা কিছু আছে এবং আপনার পিতৃপুরুষেরা এ পর্যন্ত যা কিছু সঞ্চয় করেছেন, সে সমস্তই ব্যাবিলনে বহন করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে। কোনো কিছুই অবশিষ্ট থাকবে না, বলেন সদাপ্রভু।
18 and of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'
আর আপনার কিছু সংখ্যক বংশধর, যারা আপনারই রক্তমাংস, যাদের আপনি জন্ম দেবেন, তাদেরও সেখানে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে। তারা ব্যাবিলনের রাজপ্রাসাদে নপুংসক হয়ে সেবা করবে।”
19 And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'Good [is] the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, 'Is it not — if peace and truth are in my days?'
হিষ্কিয় উত্তর দিলেন, “সদাপ্রভুর যে বাক্য আপনি বললেন, তা ভালোই।” কারণ তিনি ভাবলেন, তাঁর নিজের জীবনকালে তো শান্তি আর নিরাপত্তা থাকবে!
20 And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
হিষ্কিয়ের রাজত্বকালের অন্যান্য সব ঘটনা, তাঁর সব কীর্তি এবং তিনি কীভাবে পুকুর ও সুরঙ্গ খুঁড়ে নগরে জল এনেছিলেন, তার বিবরণ কি যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস-গ্রন্থে লেখা নেই?
21 And Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.
হিষ্কিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সাথে চিরনিদ্রায় শায়িত হলেন। তাঁর ছেলে মনঃশি রাজারূপে তাঁর স্থলাভিষিক্ত হলেন।
