2 Kings 2
1 And it cometh to pass, at Jehovah's taking up Elijah in a whirlwind to the heavens, that Elijah goeth, and Elisha, from Gilgal,
Und es geschah, als Jehova den Elia im Sturmwinde gen Himmel auffahren ließ, da gingen Elia und Elisa von Gilgal hinweg.
2 and Elijah saith unto Elisha, 'Abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me unto Beth-El;' and Elisha saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they go down to Beth-El.
Und Elia sprach zu Elisa: Bleibe doch hier; denn Jehova hat mich bis nach Bethel gesandt. Und Elisa sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt und deine Seele lebt, wenn ich dich verlasse! Und sie gingen nach Bethel hinab.
3 And sons of the prophets who [are] in Beth-El come out unto Elisha, and say unto him, 'Hast thou known that to-day Jehovah is taking thy lord from thy head?' and he saith, 'I also have known — keep silent.'
Da kamen die Söhne der Propheten, die in Bethel waren, zu Elisa heraus und sprachen zu ihm: Weißt du, daß Jehova heute deinen Herrn über deinem Haupte hinwegnehmen wird? Und er sprach: Auch ich weiß es; schweiget!
4 And Elijah saith to him, 'Elisha, abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me to Jericho;' and he saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they come in to Jericho.
Und Elia sprach zu ihm: Elisa, bleibe doch hier; denn Jehova hat mich nach Jericho gesandt. Aber er sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt und deine Seele lebt, wenn ich dich verlasse! Und sie kamen nach Jericho.
5 And sons of the prophets who [are] in Jericho come nigh unto Elisha, and say unto him, 'Hast thou known that to-day Jehovah is taking thy lord from thy head?' and he saith, 'I also have known — keep silent.'
Da traten die Söhne der Propheten, die in Jericho waren, zu Elisa und sprachen zu ihm: Weißt du, daß Jehova heute deinen Herrn über deinem Haupte hinwegnehmen wird? Und er sprach: Auch ich weiß es; schweiget!
6 And Elijah saith to him, 'Abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me to the Jordan;' and he saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they go on both of them,
Und Elia sprach zu ihm: Bleibe doch hier; denn Jehova hat mich an den Jordan gesandt. Aber er sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt und deine Seele lebt, wenn ich dich verlasse! Und so gingen sie beide miteinander.
7 — and fifty men of the sons of the prophets have gone on, and stand over-against afar off — and both of them have stood by the Jordan.
Und fünfzig Mann von den Söhnen der Propheten gingen hin und stellten sich gegenüber von ferne; und sie beide traten an den Jordan.
8 And Elijah taketh his robe, and wrappeth [it] together, and smiteth the waters, and they are halved, hither and thither, and they pass over both of them on dry land.
Da nahm Elia seinen Mantel und wickelte ihn zusammen und schlug auf das Wasser; und es zerteilte sich dahin und dorthin, und sie gingen beide hinüber auf dem Trockenen.
9 And it cometh to pass, at their passing over, that Elijah hath said unto Elisha, 'Ask, what do I do for thee before I am taken from thee?' and Elisha saith, 'Then let there be, I pray thee, a double portion of thy spirit unto me;'
Und es geschah, als sie hinübergegangen waren, da sprach Elia zu Elisa: Begehre, was ich dir tun soll, ehe ich von dir genommen werde. Und Elisa sprach: So möge mir doch ein zwiefaches Teil von deinem Geiste werden!
10 and he saith, 'Thou hast asked a hard thing; if thou dost see me taken from thee, it is to thee so; and if not, it is not.'
Und er sprach: Du hast Schweres begehrt! Wenn du mich sehen wirst, wann ich von dir genommen werde, so soll dir also geschehen; wenn aber nicht, so wird es nicht geschehen.
11 And it cometh to pass, they are going, going on and speaking, and lo, a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and they separate between them both, and Elijah goeth up in a whirlwind, to the heavens.
Und es geschah, während sie gingen und im Gehen redeten, siehe da, ein Wagen von Feuer und Rosse von Feuer, welche sie beide voneinander trennten; und Elia fuhr im Sturmwind auf gen Himmel.
12 And Elisha is seeing, and he is crying, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen;' and he hath not seen him again; and he taketh hold on his garments, and rendeth them into two pieces.
Und Elisa sah es und schrie: Mein Vater, mein Vater! Wagen Israels und seine Reiter! Und er sah ihn nicht mehr. Da faßte er seine Kleider und zerriß sie in zwei Stücke.
13 And he taketh up the robe of Elijah, that fell from off him, and turneth back and standeth on the edge of the Jordan,
Und er hob den Mantel des Elia auf, der von ihm herabgefallen war, und kehrte um und trat an das Ufer des Jordan.
14 and he taketh the robe of Elijah that fell from off him, and smiteth the waters, and saith, 'Where [is] Jehovah, God of Elijah — even He?' and he smiteth the waters, and they are halved, hither and thither, and Elisha passeth over.
Und er nahm den Mantel des Elia, der von ihm herabgefallen war, und schlug auf das Wasser und sprach: Wo ist Jehova, der Gott des Elia? -Auch er schlug auf das Wasser, und es zerteilte sich dahin und dorthin; und Elisa ging hinüber.
15 And they see him — the sons of the prophets who [are] in Jericho — over-against, and they say, 'Rested hath the spirit of Elijah on Elisha;' and they come to meet him, and bow themselves to him to the earth,
Als nun die Söhne der Propheten, die gegenüber in Jericho waren, ihn sahen, da sprachen sie: Der Geist des Elia ruht auf Elisa! Und sie kamen ihm entgegen und beugten sich vor ihm zur Erde nieder,
16 and say unto him, 'Lo, we pray thee, there are with thy servants fifty men, sons of valour: let them go, we pray thee, and they seek thy lord, lest the Spirit of Jehovah hath taken him up, and doth cast him on one of the hills, or into one of the valleys;' and he saith, 'Ye do not send.'
und sie sprachen zu ihm: Siehe doch, es sind bei deinen Knechten fünfzig tapfere Männer; mögen sie doch gehen und deinen Herrn suchen, ob nicht etwa der Geist Jehovas ihn weggetragen und ihn auf einen der Berge oder in eins der Täler geworfen hat. Aber er sprach: Sendet nicht.
17 And they press upon him, till he is ashamed, and he saith, 'Send ye;' and they send fifty men, and they seek three days, and have not found him;
Und sie drangen in ihn, bis er sich schämte. Da sprach er: Sendet! Und so sandten sie fünfzig Mann; und sie suchten drei Tage lang, aber sie fanden ihn nicht.
18 and they turn back unto him — and he is abiding in Jericho — and he saith unto them, 'Did I not say unto you, Do not go?'
Und sie kehrten zu ihm zurück [er verweilte aber noch in Jericho]; und er sprach zu ihnen: Habe ich euch nicht gesagt: Gehet nicht hin?
19 And the men of the city say unto Elisha, 'Lo, we pray thee, the site of the city [is] good, as my lord seeth, and the waters [are] bad, and the earth sterile.'
Und die Männer der Stadt sprachen zu Elisa: Siehe doch, die Lage der Stadt ist gut, wie mein Herr sieht, aber das Wasser ist schlecht, und das Land ist unfruchtbar. [Eig. bringt Fehlgeburten]
20 And he saith, 'Bring to me a new dish, and place there salt;' and they bring [it] unto him,
Da sprach er: Holet mir eine neue Schale, und tut Salz darein! Und sie holten sie ihm.
21 and he goeth out unto the source of the waters, and casteth there salt, and saith, 'Thus said Jehovah, I have given healing to these waters; there is not thence any more death and sterility.'
Und er ging hinaus zu der Quelle des Wassers, und warf das Salz hinein und sprach: So spricht Jehova: Ich habe dieses Wasser gesund gemacht; es wird weder Tod noch Unfruchtbarkeit mehr daraus entstehen.
22 And the waters are healed unto this day, according to the word of Elisha, that he spake.
Und das Wasser wurde gesund bis auf diesen Tag, nach dem Worte, das Elisa geredet hatte.
23 And he goeth up thence to Beth-El, and he is going up in the way, and little youths have come out from the city, and scoff at him, and say to him, 'Go up, bald-head! go up, bald-head!'
Und er ging von dannen hinauf nach Bethel; und als er auf dem Wege hinaufging, da kamen kleine Knaben aus der Stadt heraus, und verspotteten ihn und sprachen zu ihm: Komm herauf, [And.: Steige hinauf] Kahlkopf! Komm herauf, [And.: Steige hinauf] Kahlkopf!
24 And he looketh behind him, and seeth them, and declareth them vile in the name of Jehovah, and two bears come out of the forest, and rend of them forty and two lads.
Und er wandte sich um und sah sie an und fluchte ihnen im Namen Jehovas. Da kamen zwei Bären aus dem Walde und zerrissen von ihnen 42 Kinder.
25 And he goeth thence unto the hill of Carmel, and thence he hath turned back to Samaria.
Und er ging von dannen nach dem Berge Karmel; und von dort kehrte er nach Samaria zurück.
