2 Corinthians 4
1 Because of this, having this ministration, according as we did receive kindness, we do not faint,
Portanto, já que Deus, em sua misericórdia, nos deu esse novo modo de nos relacionarmos com ele, nós não desistimos.
2 but did renounce for ourselves the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully using the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves unto every conscience of men, before God;
Pelo contrário, rejeitamos atos secretos e vergonhosos. Nós não temos nos comportado de forma desonesta e não falsificamos a palavra de Deus. Demonstramos quem somos, ao revelar a verdade diante de Deus, para que todas as pessoas possam decidir por elas mesmas.
3 and if also our good news is vailed, in those perishing it is vailed,
Mesmo que o evangelho que anunciamos esteja escondido, ele está escondido apenas para os que estão se perdendo.
4 in whom the god of this age did blind the minds of the unbelieving, that there doth not shine forth to them the enlightening of the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God; (aiōn g165)
O deus deste mundo cegou as mentes daqueles que não creem em Deus. Eles não podem ver a luz que vem do evangelho que revela a glória de Cristo, o qual é a imagem de Deus. (aiōn g165)
5 for not ourselves do we preach, but Christ Jesus — Lord, and ourselves your servants because of Jesus;
Nós não estamos promovendo a nós mesmos, mas, sim, anunciando Cristo Jesus como sendo o Senhor. Na verdade, somos servos de vocês, em nome de Jesus.
6 because [it is] God who said, Out of darkness light [is] to shine, who did shine in our hearts, for the enlightening of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Pois o Deus que disse: “Deixe que a luz brilhe, vencendo as trevas”, foi o mesmo que brilhou em nossas mentes, para nos trazer o conhecimento da glória de Deus, que brilha no rosto de Jesus Cristo.
7 And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us;
Mas, mantemos esse tesouro em vasos de barro, pois, assim, mostramos que esse poder supremo vem de Deus e, não, de nós mesmos.
8 on every side being in tribulation, but not straitened; perplexed, but not in despair;
Somos atacados de todas as direções, mas isso não nos oprime. Às vezes, ficamos em dúvida em relação ao que devemos fazer, mas nunca desesperados.
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Somos perseguidos, mas nunca fomos abandonados por Deus. Somos derrubados, mas ainda não morremos!
10 at all times the dying of the Lord Jesus bearing about in the body, that the life also of Jesus in our body may be manifested,
Em nossos corpos, sempre levamos a morte de Jesus, para que, assim, a vida dele também seja vista em nossos corpos.
11 for always are we who are living delivered up to death because of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our dying flesh,
Enquanto vivermos, sempre estaremos correndo o risco de morrer por causa de Jesus, pois, assim, a vida de Jesus poderá ser mostrada em nossos corpos mortais.
12 so that, the death indeed in us doth work, and the life in you.
Assim, enfrentamos a morte, para que vocês possam viver!
13 And having the same spirit of the faith, according to that which hath been written, 'I believed, therefore I did speak;' we also do believe, therefore also do we speak;
Como nós temos o mesmo espírito de fé em Deus, ao qual as Sagradas Escrituras se referem ao dizer: “Eu tive fé em Deus e, assim, eu falei”, nós também falamos porque cremos em Deus.
14 knowing that He who did raise up the Lord Jesus, us also through Jesus shall raise up, and shall present with you,
Nós sabemos que Deus, que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus, também nos ressuscitará com o Senhor e nos levará, junto com vocês, até a presença dele.
15 for the all things [are] because of you, that the grace having been multiplied, because of the thanksgiving of the more, may abound to the glory of God;
Isso é tudo por vocês! Quando a bênção de Deus alcançar muito mais pessoas, a gratidão a ele será ainda maior, para a sua glória.
16 wherefore, we faint not, but if also our outward man doth decay, yet the inward is renewed day by day;
Então, nós não desanimamos. Mesmo que os nossos corpos estejam se despedaçando, por dentro estamos sendo renovados a cada dia.
17 for the momentary light matter of our tribulation, more and more exceedingly an age-during weight of glory doth work out for us — (aiōnios g166)
Pois essas pequenas inquietações que surgem duram pouco, mas produzem para nós uma glória que não para de crescer. (aiōnios g166)
18 we not looking to the things seen, but to the things not seen; for the things seen [are] temporary, but the things not seen [are] age-during. (aiōnios g166)
Nós não nos preocupamos com o que pode ser visto, pois olhamos para a frente, para o que não pode ser visto. O que vemos é temporário, mas o que não conseguimos ver é eterno. (aiōnios g166)
