2 Corinthians 4
1 Because of this, having this ministration, according as we did receive kindness, we do not faint,
C'est pourquoi, puisque nous avons ce ministère, de même que nous avons obtenu la miséricorde, nous ne faiblissons pas.
2 but did renounce for ourselves the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully using the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves unto every conscience of men, before God;
Mais nous avons renoncé aux choses cachées de la honte, ne marchant pas par ruse et ne maniant pas la parole de Dieu avec tromperie, mais nous recommandant à la conscience de tout homme devant Dieu, par la manifestation de la vérité.
3 and if also our good news is vailed, in those perishing it is vailed,
Si notre Bonne Nouvelle est voilée, elle l'est aussi chez les mourants,
4 in whom the god of this age did blind the minds of the unbelieving, that there doth not shine forth to them the enlightening of the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God; (aiōn g165)
chez qui le dieu de ce monde a aveuglé l'intelligence des incrédules, afin que la lumière de la Bonne Nouvelle de la gloire du Christ, qui est l'image de Dieu, ne parût pas sur eux. (aiōn g165)
5 for not ourselves do we preach, but Christ Jesus — Lord, and ourselves your servants because of Jesus;
En effet, ce n'est pas nous-mêmes que nous prêchons, mais le Christ Jésus comme Seigneur, et nous-mêmes comme vos serviteurs à cause de Jésus,
6 because [it is] God who said, Out of darkness light [is] to shine, who did shine in our hearts, for the enlightening of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
car c'est Dieu qui a dit: « La lumière brillera des ténèbres », qui a brillé dans nos cœurs pour donner la lumière de la connaissance de la gloire de Dieu sur le visage de Jésus-Christ.
7 And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us;
Mais nous avons ce trésor dans des vases d'argile, afin que l'extrême grandeur de la puissance soit de Dieu et non de nous-mêmes.
8 on every side being in tribulation, but not straitened; perplexed, but not in despair;
Nous sommes pressés de toutes parts, mais non écrasés; perplexes, mais non désespérés;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
poursuivis, mais non abandonnés; abattus, mais non détruits;
10 at all times the dying of the Lord Jesus bearing about in the body, that the life also of Jesus in our body may be manifested,
portant toujours dans le corps la condamnation à mort du Seigneur Jésus, afin que la vie de Jésus soit aussi manifestée dans notre corps.
11 for always are we who are living delivered up to death because of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our dying flesh,
Car nous qui vivons, nous sommes toujours livrés à la mort à cause de Jésus, afin que la vie de Jésus soit aussi révélée dans notre chair mortelle.
12 so that, the death indeed in us doth work, and the life in you.
Ainsi donc, la mort agit en nous, mais la vie agit en vous.
13 And having the same spirit of the faith, according to that which hath been written, 'I believed, therefore I did speak;' we also do believe, therefore also do we speak;
Mais ayant le même esprit de foi, selon ce qui est écrit: « J'ai cru, et c'est pourquoi j'ai parlé. » Nous croyons aussi, et c'est pourquoi nous parlons aussi,
14 knowing that He who did raise up the Lord Jesus, us also through Jesus shall raise up, and shall present with you,
sachant que celui qui a ressuscité le Seigneur Jésus nous ressuscitera aussi avec Jésus, et nous présentera avec vous.
15 for the all things [are] because of you, that the grace having been multiplied, because of the thanksgiving of the more, may abound to the glory of God;
Car tout cela est à cause de vous, afin que la grâce, étant multipliée par la multitude, fasse abonder les actions de grâces à la gloire de Dieu.
16 wherefore, we faint not, but if also our outward man doth decay, yet the inward is renewed day by day;
C'est pourquoi nous ne faiblissons pas; mais, bien que notre personne extérieure se décompose, notre personne intérieure se renouvelle de jour en jour.
17 for the momentary light matter of our tribulation, more and more exceedingly an age-during weight of glory doth work out for us — (aiōnios g166)
Car notre légère tribulation, qui est pour le moment, nous procure de plus en plus un poids éternel de gloire, (aiōnios g166)
18 we not looking to the things seen, but to the things not seen; for the things seen [are] temporary, but the things not seen [are] age-during. (aiōnios g166)
tandis que nous ne regardons pas aux choses visibles, mais à celles qu'on ne voit pas. Car les choses qu'on voit sont temporelles, mais les choses qu'on ne voit pas sont éternelles. (aiōnios g166)
