2 Chronicles 6
1 Then said Solomon, 'Jehovah said — to dwell in thick darkness,
তখন শলোমন বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু বলেছেন যে তিনি ঘন মেঘের মাঝে বসবাস করবেন;
2 and I — I have built a house of habitation for Thee, and a fixed place for Thy dwelling to the ages.'
আমি তোমার জন্য এক দর্শনীয় মন্দির তৈরি করেছি, সেটি এমন এক স্থান, যেখানে তুমি চিরকাল বসবাস করবে।”
3 And the king turneth round his face, and blesseth the whole assembly of Israel, and the whole assembly of Israel is standing,
ইস্রায়েলের সমগ্র জনসমাজ যখন সেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিল, রাজামশাই তখন তাদের দিকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে তাদের আশীর্বাদ করলেন।
4 and he saith, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, who hath spoken with His mouth with David my father, and with His hands hath fulfilled [it], saying:
পরে তিনি বললেন: “ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সেই সদাপ্রভুর গৌরব হোক, যিনি নিজের হাতে তাঁর সেই প্রতিজ্ঞাটি পূরণ করেছেন, যেটি তিনি নিজের মুখে আমার বাবা দাউদের কাছে করলেন। কারণ তিনি বললেন,
5 'From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;
‘যেদিন আমি আমার প্রজাদের মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছিলাম, সেদিন থেকে না একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করার জন্য আমি ইস্রায়েলে কোনও বংশের একটি নগর মনোনীত করেছি, যেন সেখানে আমার নাম বজায় থাকে, না আমি আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের উপর শাসনকর্তারূপে কাউকে মনোনীত করেছি।
6 and I fix on Jerusalem for My name being there, and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.
কিন্তু আমার নাম বজায় রাখার জন্য এখন আমি জেরুশালেমকে মনোনীত করেছি এবং আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে শাসন করার জন্য আমি দাউদকে মনোনীত করেছি।’
7 'And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah God of Israel,
“ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামে একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করার বাসনা আমার বাবা দাউদের অন্তরে ছিল।
8 and Jehovah saith unto David my father, Because that it hath been with thy heart to build a house for My name, thou hast done well that it hath been with thy heart,
কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু আমার বাবা দাউদকে বললেন, ‘আমার নামে একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করার কথা ভেবে তুমি ভালোই করেছ।
9 but thou dost not build the house, for thy son who cometh forth out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.
তবে, তুমি সেই মন্দির নির্মাণ করবে না, কিন্তু তোমার সেই ছেলে, যে তোমারই রক্তমাংস—সেই আমার নামে একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করবে।’
10 'And Jehovah doth establish His word that He spake, and I rise up in the stead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah spake, and I build the house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,
“সদাপ্রভু তাঁর করা প্রতিজ্ঞাটি পূরণ করেছেন: আমি আমার বাবা দাউদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হয়েছি এবং সদাপ্রভুর প্রতিজ্ঞানুসারে এখন আমি ইস্রায়েলের সিংহাসনে বসেছি, এবং ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামের উদ্দেশে আমি মন্দিরটি নির্মাণ করেছি।
11 and I place there the ark, where [is] the covenant of Jehovah that He made with the sons of Israel.'
সেখানে আমি সেই সিন্দুকটি রেখেছি, যেটির মধ্যে সদাপ্রভুর সেই নিয়মটি রাখা আছে, যা তিনি ইস্রায়েলী জনতার জন্য স্থাপন করলেন।”
12 And he standeth before the altar of Jehovah, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth out his hand, —
পরে শলোমন ইস্রায়েলের সমগ্র জনসমাজের সামনে সদাপ্রভুর উপস্থিতিতে উঠে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন এবং তাঁর দু-হাত মেলে ধরেছিলেন।
13 for Solomon hath made a scaffold of brass, and putteth it in the midst of the court, five cubits its length, and five cubits its breadth, and three cubits its height, and he standeth upon it, and kneeleth on his knees over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth forth his hands towards the heavens —
ইত্যবসরে তিনি আবার 2.3 মিটার লম্বা, 2.3 মিটার চওড়া ও 1.4 মিটার উঁচু ব্রোঞ্জের একটি মঞ্চ তৈরি করলেন, এবং সেটি বাইরের দিকের উঠোনের মাঝখানে নিয়ে গিয়ে রেখেছিলেন। সেই মঞ্চে দাঁড়িয়ে তিনি ইস্রায়েলের সমগ্র জনসমাজের সামনে নতজানু হলেন এবং স্বর্গের দিকে দু-হাত প্রসারিত করে দিলেন।
14 and saith, 'O Jehovah God of Israel, there is not like Thee a god in the heavens and in the earth, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Thy servants who are walking before Thee with all their heart;
তিনি বললেন: “হে ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, স্বর্গে বা মর্ত্যে তোমার মতো এমন কোনও ঈশ্বর আর কেউ নেই—তুমি তোমার সেই দাসদের কাছে করা তোমার প্রেমের নিয়ম রক্ষা করে থাকো, যারা সর্বান্তঃকরণে তোমার পথে চলে।
15 who hast kept for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him; yea, Thou dost speak with Thy mouth, and with Thy hand hast fulfilled [it], as at this day.
আমার বাবা, তথা তোমার দাস দাউদের কাছে করা প্রতিজ্ঞাটি তুমি পূরণ করেছ; নিজের মুখেই তুমি সেই প্রতিজ্ঞাটি করলে এবং নিজের হাতেই তুমি তা রক্ষাও করেছ—যেমনটি কি না আজ দেখা যাচ্ছে।
16 'And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel, only, if thy sons watch their way to walk in My law, as thou hast walked before Me.
“এখন হে ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, তোমার দাস ও আমার বাবা দাউদের কাছে তোমার করা সেই প্রতিজ্ঞাটি পূরণ করো, যে প্রতিজ্ঞায় তুমি বললে, ‘শুধু যদি তোমার বংশধরেরা আমার নিয়মানুসারে আমার সামনে চলার জন্য একটু সতর্ক হয়ে তোমার মতো সবকিছু করে, তবে আমার সামনে ইস্রায়েলের সিংহাসনে বসার জন্য তোমার কোনও উত্তরাধিকারীর অভাব হবে না।’
17 'And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, is Thy word stedfast that Thou hast spoken to Thy servant, to David,
আর এখন, হে ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, তোমার দাস দাউদের কাছে করা তোমার প্রতিজ্ঞার সেই কথাটি যেন সত্যি হয়।
18 (for is it true? — God dwelleth with man on the earth! Lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens, do not contain Thee, how much less this house that I have built?)
“কিন্তু ঈশ্বর কি সত্যিই পৃথিবীতে মানুষের সাথে বসবাস করবেন? আকাশমণ্ডল, এমনকি স্বর্গের স্বর্গও তাঁকে ধারণ করতে পারে না। তবে আমার নির্মাণ করা এই মন্দিরই বা কেমন করে তোমাকে ধারণ করবে!
19 'And Thou hast turned unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer that Thy servant is praying before Thee,
তবুও হে আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, তোমার দাসের প্রার্থনায় ও দয়া লাভের জন্য তার করা এই অনুরোধের প্রতি মনোযোগ দাও। তোমার উপস্থিতিতে তোমার এই দাস যে ক্রন্দন ও প্রার্থনা করছে, তা তুমি শোনো।
20 for Thine eyes being open towards this house by day and by night, towards the place that Thou hast said to put Thy name there, to hearken unto the prayer that Thy servant prayeth towards this place.
দিনরাত এই মন্দিরের প্রতি, এই যে স্থানটির বিষয়ে তুমি বলেছ যে তুমি সেখানে তোমার নাম বজায় রাখবে, তোমার চোখদুটি যেন খোলা থাকে। এই স্থানটির দিকে তাকিয়ে করা তোমার দাসের প্রার্থনা যেন তুমি শুনতে পাও।
21 'And Thou hast hearkened unto the supplications of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, that they pray towards this place, and Thou dost hear from the place of Thy dwelling, from the heavens, and hast hearkened, and forgiven.
তোমার এই দাস ও তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েল যখন এই স্থানটির দিকে তাকিয়ে প্রার্থনা করবে তখন তুমি তাদের মিনতি শুনো। স্বর্গ থেকে, তোমার সেই বাসস্থান থেকে তুমি তা শুনো; এবং শুনে তাদের ক্ষমাও কোরো।
22 'If a man doth sin against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up on him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house —
“যখন কেউ তার প্রতিবেশীর প্রতি কোনও অন্যায় করবে ও তাকে শপথ করতে বলা হবে এবং সে এই মন্দিরে রাখা তোমার এই যজ্ঞবেদির সামনে এসে শপথ করবে,
23 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast done, and hast judged Thy servants, to give back to the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give to him according to his righteousness.
তখন তুমি স্বর্গ থেকে তা শুনে সেইমতোই কাজ কোরো। তোমার দাসদের বিচার কোরো, দোষীকে শাস্তি দিয়ো ও তার কৃতকর্মের ফল তার মাথায় চাপিয়ে দিয়ো, এবং নিরপরাধের পক্ষসমর্থন করে, তার নিষ্কলুষতা অনুসারে তার প্রতি আচরণ কোরো।
24 'And if Thy people Israel is smitten before an enemy, because they sin against Thee, and they have turned back and confessed Thy name, and prayed and made supplication before Thee in this house —
“তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েল যখন তোমার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করার কারণে শত্রুর কাছে পরাজিত হবে ও যখন তারা আবার তোমার কাছে ফিরে এসে তোমার নামের প্রশংসা করবে, এবং এই মন্দিরে তোমার সামনে এসে প্রার্থনা ও মিনতি উৎসর্গ করবে,
25 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy people Israel, and caused them to turn back unto the ground that Thou hast given to them, and to their fathers.
তখন তুমি স্বর্গ থেকে তা শুনো ও তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের পাপ ক্ষমা কোরো এবং তুমি তাদের ও তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের যে দেশ দিয়েছিলে, সেই দেশে তাদের ফিরিয়ে এনো।
26 'In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against Thee, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Thy name — from their sin they turn back because Thou dost afflict them —
“তোমার প্রজারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করার কারণে যখন আকাশের দ্বার রুদ্ধ হয়ে যাবে ও বৃষ্টি হবে না, আর যখন তারা এই স্থানটির দিকে তাকিয়ে প্রার্থনা করবে ও তোমার নামের প্রশংসা করবে এবং তুমি যেহেতু তাদের কষ্ট দিয়েছ, তাই তারা তাদের পাপপথ থেকে ফিরে আসবে,
27 then Thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy servants, and of Thy people Israel, because Thou directest them unto the good way in which they walk, and hast given rain on Thy land that Thou hast given to Thy people for an inheritance.
তখন স্বর্গ থেকে তুমি তা শুনো ও তোমার দাসদের, তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের পাপ ক্ষমা কোরো। সঠিক জীবনযাপনের পথ তুমি তাদের শিক্ষা দিয়ো, এবং যে দেশটি তুমি তোমার প্রজাদের এক উত্তরাধিকাররূপে দিয়েছ, সেই দেশে তুমি বৃষ্টি পাঠিয়ো।
28 'Famine, when it is in the land, pestilence, when it is, blasting, and mildew, locust, and caterpillar, when they are, when its enemies have distressed it in the land — its gates, any plague and any sickness;
“যখন দেশে দুর্ভিক্ষ বা মহামারি দেখা দেবে, অথবা ফসল ক্ষেতে মড়ক লাগবে বা ছাতারোগ লাগবে, পঙ্গপাল বা ফড়িং হানা দেবে, অথবা শত্রুরা তাদের যে কোনো নগরে তাদের যখন অবরুদ্ধ করে রাখবে, যখন এরকম কোনও বিপত্তি বা রোগজ্বালার প্রকোপ পড়বে,
29 any prayer, any supplication that is for any man, and for all Thy people Israel, when they know each his own plague, and his own pain, and he hath spread out his hands towards this house:
এবং তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে কেউ যদি তখন প্রার্থনা বা মিনতি করে—তাদের যন্ত্রণা ও ব্যথার বিষয়ে সচেতন হয়, ও এই মন্দিরের দিকে তাদের হাতগুলি প্রসারিত করে—
30 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast forgiven, and hast given to each according to all his ways (because Thou knowest his heart, for Thou — Thou only — hast known the heart of the sons of men),
তবে তখন তুমি স্বর্গ থেকে, তোমার বাসস্থান থেকে তা শুনো। তাদের ক্ষমা কোরো, ও প্রত্যেকের সাথে তাদের কৃতকর্মানুসারে আচরণ কোরো, যেহেতু তুমি তো তাদের অন্তর জানো (কারণ একমাত্র তুমিই মানুষের হৃদয়ের খবর রাখো),
31 so that they fear Thee, to walk in Thy ways, all the days that they are living on the face of the ground that Thou hast given to our fathers.
যেন তারা তোমাকে ভয় করে ও যে দেশটি তুমি আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছিলে, সেই দেশে বেঁচে থাকাকালীন তারা যেন সবসময় তোমার প্রতি বাধ্যতা দেখিয়ে চলে।
32 'And also, unto the stranger who is not of Thy people Israel, and he hath come from a land afar off for the sake of Thy great name, and Thy strong hand, and Thy stretched-out arm, and they have come in and prayed towards this house:
“যে তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নয়, এমন কোনও বিদেশি তোমার মহানামের এবং তোমার পরাক্রমী হাতের ও তোমার প্রসারিত বাহুর কথা শুনে যখন দূরদেশ থেকে আসবে—তারা যখন এসে এই মন্দিরের দিকে তাকিয়ে প্রার্থনা করবে,
33 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast done according to all that the stranger calleth unto Thee for: so that all the peoples of the earth do know Thy name, so as to fear Thee, as Thy people Israel, and to know that Thy name is called on this house that I have built.
তখন তুমি স্বর্গ থেকে, তোমার সেই বাসস্থান থেকে তা শুনো। সেই বিদেশি তোমার কাছে যা চাইবে, তা তাকে দিয়ো, যেন পৃথিবীর সব মানুষজন তোমার নাম জানতে পারে ও তোমাকে ভয় করে, ঠিক যেভাবে তোমার নিজস্ব প্রজা ইস্রায়েল করে এসেছে, এবং তারা যেন এও জানতে পারে যে এই যে ভবনটি আমি তৈরি করেছি, তা তোমার নাম বহন করে চলেছে।
34 'When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemies in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Thee the way of this city that Thou hast fixed on, and the house that I have built for Thy name:
“তোমার প্রজাদের তুমি যে কোনো স্থানে পাঠাও না কেন, তারা যখন তাদের শত্রুদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধে যাবে, এবং যখন তারা তোমার মনোনীত এই নগরটির ও তোমার নামে আমি এই যে মন্দিরটি নির্মাণ করেছি, সেটির দিকে তাকিয়ে তোমার কাছে প্রার্থনা করবে,
35 then Thou hast heard from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and hast maintained their cause.
তখন তুমি স্বর্গ থেকে তাদের প্রার্থনা ও মিনতি শুনো, এবং তাদের পক্ষসমর্থন কোরো।
36 'When they sin against Thee — for there is not a man who sinneth not — and Thou hast been angry with them, and hast given them before an enemy, and taken them captive have their captors, unto a land far off or near;
“তারা যখন তোমার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করবে—কারণ এমন কেউ নেই, যে পাপ করে না—এবং তুমি তাদের প্রতি ক্রুদ্ধ হবে ও তাদের সেই শত্রুদের হাতে সঁপে দেবে, যারা তাদের দূর বা নিকটবর্তী কোনও দেশে বন্দি করে নিয়ে যাবে;
37 and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto Thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have done wickedly;
এবং সেই দেশে বন্দি জীবন কাটাতে কাটাতে যদি তাদের মন পরিবর্তন হয়, ও তারা অনুতাপ করে ও তাদের সেই বন্দিদশার দেশে থাকতে থাকতেই যদি তারা তোমাকে অনুরোধ জানিয়ে বলে, ‘আমরা পাপ করেছি, আমরা অন্যায় করেছি ও দুষ্টতামূলক আচরণ করেছি’;
38 yea, they have turned back unto Thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have taken them captive, and they have prayed the way of their land that Thou hast given to their fathers, and of the city that Thou hast chosen, and of the house that I have built for Thy name:
আর যদি তারা যেখানে তাদের নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে, সেই বন্দিদশার দেশে থেকেই মনপ্রাণ ঢেলে দিয়ে তোমার কাছে ফিরে আসে, ও তুমি তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের যে দেশটি দিয়েছ, সেই দেশের দিকে তাকিয়ে, ও যে নগরটিকে তুমি মনোনীত করেছ, সেটির দিকে তাকিয়ে, এবং তোমার নামে আমি যে মন্দিরটি নির্মাণ করেছি, সেটির দিকে তাকিয়ে প্রার্থনা করে;
39 then Thou hast heard from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and hast maintained their cause, and forgiven Thy people who have sinned against Thee.
তবে স্বর্গ থেকে, তোমার বাসস্থান থেকে তুমি তাদের করা প্রার্থনা ও মিনতি শুনো, এবং তাদের পক্ষসমর্থন কোরো। তোমার সেই প্রজাদের ক্ষমাও কোরো, যারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছে।
40 'Now, my God, let, I beseech Thee, Thine eyes be open, and Thine ears attentive, to the prayer of this place:
“এখন, হে আমার ঈশ্বর, এই স্থানে যে প্রার্থনাটি উৎসর্গ করা হচ্ছে, তার প্রতি যেন তোমার চোখ খোলা থাকে ও তোমার কান সজাগ থাকে।
41 and now, rise, O Jehovah God, to Thy rest, Thou, and the ark of Thy strength; Thy priests, O Jehovah God, are clothed with salvation, and Thy saints rejoice in the goodness,
“হে ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, এখন ওঠো ও তোমার বিশ্রামস্থানে এসো,
42 O Jehovah God, turn not back the face of Thine anointed, be mindful of the kind acts of David Thy servant.'
হে ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু, তোমার অভিষিক্ত জনকে অগ্রাহ্য কোরো না।
