1 John 3
1 See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world doth not know us, because it did not know Him;
Mirád cual amor nos ha dado el Padre, que seamos llamados hijos de Dios: por esto el mundo no nos conoce, porque no le conoce a él.
2 beloved, now, children of God are we, and it was not yet manifested what we shall be, and we have known that if he may be manifested, like him we shall be, because we shall see him as he is;
Amados míos, ahora somos nosotros los hijos de Dios, y aun no es manifestado lo que hemos de ser: empero sabemos que cuando él apareciere, seremos semejantes a él; porque le veremos como él es.
3 and every one who is having this hope on him, doth purify himself, even as he is pure.
Y cualquiera que tiene esta esperanza en él se purifica a sí mismo, como él es puro.
4 Every one who is doing the sin, the lawlessness also he doth do, and the sin is the lawlessness,
Cualquiera que hace pecado, traspasa también la ley; porque el pecado es la transgresión de la ley.
5 and ye have known that he was manifested that our sins he may take away, and sin is not in him;
Y sabéis que él apareció para quitar nuestros pecados, y no hay pecado en él.
6 every one who is remaining in him doth not sin; every one who is sinning, hath not seen him, nor known him.
Cualquiera que permanece en él, no peca: cualquiera que peca, no le ha visto, y no le ha conocido.
7 Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who is doing the righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous,
Hijitos, ninguno os engañe: el que hace justicia es justo, como él también es justo.
8 he who is doing the sin, of the devil he is, because from the beginning the devil doth sin; for this was the Son of God manifested, that he may break up the works of the devil;
El que hace pecado, es del diablo; porque el diablo peca desde el principio. Para esto apareció el Hijo de Dios, para que deshaga las obras del diablo.
9 every one who hath been begotten of God, sin he doth not, because his seed in him doth remain, and he is not able to sin, because of God he hath been begotten.
Cualquiera que es nacido de Dios, no hace pecado; porque su simiente mora en él; y no puede pecar, porque es nacido de Dios.
10 In this manifest are the children of God, and the children of the devil; every one who is not doing righteousness, is not of God, and he who is not loving his brother,
En esto son manifiestos los hijos de Dios, y los hijos del diablo: cualquiera que no hace justicia, y que no ama a su hermano, no es de Dios.
11 because this is the message that ye did hear from the beginning, that we may love one another,
Porque éste es el mensaje que habéis oído desde el principio, que nos amemos unos a otros:
12 not as Cain — of the evil one he was, and he did slay his brother, and wherefore did he slay him? because his works were evil, and those of his brother righteous.
No como Caín, que era del maligno, y mató a su hermano. ¿Y por qué causa le mató? Porque sus obras eran malas, y las de su hermano eran justas.
13 Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world doth hate you;
Hermanos míos, no os maravilléis si el mundo os aborrece.
14 we — we have known that we have passed out of the death to the life, because we love the brethren; he who is not loving the brother doth remain in the death.
Nosotros sabemos que somos pasados de muerte a vida, en que amamos a los hermanos. El que no ama a su hermano, está en muerte.
15 Every one who is hating his brother — a man-killer he is, and ye have known that no man-killer hath life age-during in him remaining, (aiōnios g166)
Cualquiera que aborrece a su hermano, es homicida; y sabéis que ningún homicida tiene vida eterna permaneciente en sí. (aiōnios g166)
16 in this we have known the love, because he for us his life did lay down, and we ought for the brethren the lives to lay down;
En esto hemos conocido el amor de Dios, en que él puso su vida por nosotros, y nosotros debemos poner nuestras vidas por los hermanos.
17 and whoever may have the goods of the world, and may view his brother having need, and may shut up his bowels from him — how doth the love of God remain in him?
Mas el que tuviere bienes de este mundo, y viere a su hermano tener necesidad, y le cerrare sus entrañas, ¿cómo es posible que permanezca el amor de Dios en él?
18 My little children, may we not love in word nor in tongue, but in word and in truth!
Hijitos míos, no amemos de palabra, ni de lengua; sino con obra y de verdad.
19 and in this we know that of the truth we are, and before Him we shall assure our hearts,
Y en esto conocemos que nosotros somos de la verdad, y persuadiremos nuestros corazones delante de él.
20 because if our heart may condemn — because greater is God than our heart, and He doth know all things.
Porque si nuestro corazón nos reprende, mayor es Dios que nuestro corazón, y sabe todas las cosas.
21 Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God,
Carísimos, si nuestro corazón no nos reprende, confianza tenemos en Dios;
22 and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because His commands we keep, and the things pleasing before Him we do,
Y cualquiera cosa que pidiéremos, la recibiremos de él; porque guardamos sus mandamientos, y hacemos las cosas que son agradables delante de él.
23 and this is His command, that we may believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and may love one another, even as He did give command to us,
Y éste es su mandamiento: Que creamos en el nombre de su Hijo Jesu Cristo, y nos amemos unos a otros, como nos lo ha mandado.
24 and he who is keeping His commands, in Him he doth remain, and He in him; and in this we know that He doth remain in us, from the Spirit that He gave us.
Y el que guarda sus mandamientos, mora en él, y él en él. Y en esto sabemos que él mora en nosotros, por el Espíritu que nos ha dado.
