Psalms 85

1 Of the sones of Chore. Lord, thou hast blessid thi lond; thou hast turned awei the caitifte of Jacob.

Gospod, naklonjen si bil svoji deželi, nazaj si privedel Jakobovo ujetništvo.

2 Thou hast foryoue the wickidnesse of thi puple; thou hast hilid alle the synnes of hem.

Odpustil si krivičnost svojega ljudstva, pokril si vse njihove grehe. (Sela)

3 Thou hast aswagid al thin ire; thou hast turned awei fro the ire of thin indignacioun.

Odstranil si ves svoj bes. Sebe si odvrnil od okrutnosti svoje jeze.

4 God, oure helthe, conuerte thou vs; and turne awei thin ire fro vs.

Spreobrni nas, oh Bog rešitve naše duše in svoji jezi do nas povzroči, da preneha.

5 Whether thou schalt be wrooth to vs withouten ende; ether schalt thou holde forth thin ire fro generacioun in to generacioun?

Hočeš biti večno jezen na nas? Hočeš svojo jezo raztegniti na vse rodove?

6 God, thou conuertid schalt quykene vs; and thi puple schal be glad in thee.

Ali nas ne boš ponovno oživil, da se tvoje ljudstvo lahko veseli v tebi?

7 Lord, schewe thi merci to vs; and yyue thin helthe to vs.

Pokaži nam svoje usmiljenje, oh Gospod in zagotovi nam svojo rešitev duše.

8 I schal here what the Lord God schal speke in me; for he schal speke pees on his puple. And on hise hooli men; and on hem that ben turned to herte.

Slišal bom kaj bo Bog, Gospod, govoril, kajti svojemu ljudstvu in svojim svetim bo govoril mir, toda oni naj se ne obrnejo ponovno k neumnosti.

9 Netheles his helthe is niy men dredynge him; that glorie dwelle in oure lond.

Zagotovo je njegova rešitev duš blizu tistim, ki se ga bojijo, da bo v naši deželi lahko prebivala slava.

10 Merci and treuthe metten hem silf; riytwisnesse and pees weren kissid.

Usmiljenje in resnica sta se skupaj srečala, pravičnost in mir sta poljubila drug drugega.

11 Treuthe cam forth of erthe; and riytfulnesse bihelde fro heuene.

Resnica bo izvirala iz zemlje in pravičnost bo gledala dol z neba.

12 For the Lord schal yyue benignyte; and oure erthe schal yyue his fruyt.

Da, Gospod bo dal to, kar je dobro in naša dežela bo obrodila svoj donos.

13 Riytfulnesse schal go bifore him; and schal sette hise steppis in the weie.

Pravičnost bo hodila pred njim in nas postavila na pot njegovih korakov.
