Numbers 27
1 Forsothe the douytris of Salphaat, sone of Epher, sone of Galaad, sone of Machir, sone of Manasses, that was `the sone of Joseph, neiyeden; of whiche douytris these ben the names; Maala, and Noha, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa.
૧યૂસફના દીકરા મનાશ્શાના કુટુંબોમાંથી મનાશ્શાના દીકરા માખીરના દીકરા ગિલ્યાદના દીકરા હેફેરના દીકરા સલોફહાદની દીકરીઓ મૂસા પાસે આવી. તેની દીકરીઓના નામ આ પ્રમાણે હતા: માહલાહ, નૂહ, હોગ્લાહ, મિલ્કાહ તથા તિર્સા.
2 And thei stoden bifore Moises, and Eleazar, preest, and alle the princes of the puple, at the dore of tabernacle of boond of pees; and seiden,
૨તેઓએ મૂસાની, એલાઝાર યાજકની, વડીલોની તથા આખી જમાતની આગળ મુલાકાતમંડપના પ્રવેશદ્વાર આગળ ઊભી રહીને કહ્યું,
3 Oure fadir was deed in the deseert, nether he was in the rebelte, that was reisid ayens the Lord, vndur Chore, but he was deed in his synne; he hadde no male sones. Whi is `the name of hym takun awei fro his meynee, for he hath no sone? Yif ye possessioun to vs among `the kynesmen of oure fadir.
૩“અમારો પિતા અરણ્યમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યો. યહોવાહ વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠનાર કોરાહની ટોળીમાં તે ન હતા. તે તેના પોતાના પાપમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યા; તેને કોઈ દીકરા ન હતા.
4 And Moises telde `the cause of hem to the doom of the Lord;
૪અમારા પિતાને દીકરો ન હોવાથી અમારા પિતાનું નામ કુટુંબમાંથી શા માટે દૂર કરાય? અમારા પિતાના ભાઈઓ મધ્યે અમને વારસો આપવામાં આવે.”
5 which seide to Moyses, The douytris of Salphaath axen a iust thing; yyue thou possessioun to hem among `the kynnysmen of her fadir,
૫માટે મૂસા આ બાબત યહોવાહ સમક્ષ લાવ્યો.
6 and be thei successouris to hym in to eritage.
૬અને યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું,
7 Forsothe thou schalt speke these thingis to the sons of Israel,
૭“સલોફહાદની દીકરીઓ સાચું બોલે છે. તું નિશ્ચે તે લોકોને તેમના પિતાના ભાઈઓની સાથે વારસાનો દેશ આપ; તેઓના પિતાનો વારસો તેઓને આપ.
8 Whanne a man is deed with out sone, the eritage schal go to his douyter;
૮ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને સાથે વાત કરીને કહે, ‘જો કોઈ માણસ મૃત્યુ પામે અને તેને દીકરો ન હોય, તો તેની દીકરીને તેનો વારસો આપ.
9 if he hath not a douyter, he schal haue eiris his britheren;
૯જો તેને દીકરી ના હોય, તો તું તેનો વારસો તેના ભાઈઓને આપ.
10 that and if britheren ben not, ye schulen yyue the eritage to `the britheren of his fadir;
૧૦જો તેને ભાઈઓ ના હોય, તો તેનો તેના પિતાના ભાઈઓને આપ.
11 forsothe if he hath no britheren of his fadir, the eritage schal be youun to hem that ben next to hym. And this schal be hooli, `that is, stidefast, bi euerlastynge lawe to the sones of Israel, as the Lord comaundide to Moises.
૧૧અને જો તેને કાકાઓ ન હોય, તો તેનો વારસો તેના નજીકના સગાને આપ, તે તેનો માલિક બને. યહોવાહે મૂસાને આજ્ઞા કરી હતી તે પ્રમાણે આ કાયદો ઇઝરાયલી લોકો માટે કાનૂન થાય.’”
12 Also the Lord seide to Moises, Stie thou in to this hil of Aberym, and biholde thou fro thennus the lond, which Y schal yyue to the sones of Israel.
૧૨યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તું અબારીમના પર્વત પર જા અને જે દેશ મેં ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને આપેલો છે તે જો.
13 And whanne thou hast seyn it, also thou schalt go to thi puple, as thi brother Aaron yede;
૧૩તે જોયા પછી તું પણ તારા ભાઈ હારુનની જેમ તારા લોકો સાથે ભળી જશે.
14 for thou offenddidist me in the deseert of Syn, in the ayen seiyng of the multitude, nether woldist halewe me bifor it, on the watris. These ben the watris of ayen seiyng, in Cades, of the deseert of Syn.
૧૪કેમ કે સીનના અરણ્યમાં આખી જમાતની દ્રષ્ટિમાં ખડકમાંથી વહેતા પાણી પાસે કાદેશમાં મરીબાહનાં પાણી મને પવિત્ર માનવા વિષે તેં મારી આજ્ઞાની વિરુદ્ધ બળવો કર્યો.
15 To whom Moises answeryde,
૧૫પછી મૂસાએ યહોવાહની સાથે વાત કરીને કહ્યું,
16 The Lord God of spiritis of al fleisch puruey a man, that be on this multitude,
૧૬“યહોવાહ, સર્વ માનવજાતના આત્માઓના ઈશ્વર, તે લોકો પર એક માણસને નિયુક્ત કરે.
17 and may go out, and entre bifor hem, and lede hem out, and lede hem yn, lest the `puple of the Lord be as scheep with out schepherde.
૧૭કોઈ માણસ તેઓની આગળ બહાર જાય અને અંદર આવે, જે તેઓને બહાર ચલાવે અને અંદર લાવે, જેથી તમારા લોકો પાળક વગરનાં ઘેટાં જેવા ન રહે.”
18 And the Lord seide to hym, Take thou Josue, the sone of Nun, a man in whom the spyrit of God is, and set thin hond on hym; and he schal stonde bifore Eleazar,
૧૮યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “નૂનનો દીકરો યહોશુઆ, જેનામાં મારો આત્મા રહે છે, તેના પર તારો હાથ મૂક.
19 preest, and bifore al the multitude.
૧૯તું તેને એલાઝાર યાજક તથા આખી જમાત સમક્ષ ઊભો કર, તેઓના દેખતાં તેને તારો ઉત્તરાધિકારી નિયુક્ત કર.
20 And thou schalt yyue to hym comaundementis, in the siyt of alle men, and a part of thi glorie, that al the synagoge of the sones of Israel here hym.
૨૦તારો કેટલોક અધિકાર તેના પર મૂક, જેથી ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની આખી જમાત તેની આજ્ઞા પાળે.
21 If ony thing schal be worthi to be do for this man, Eleasar, preest, schal counseil the Lord; he schal go out, and schal go yn, at the word of Eleazar; he, and alle the sones of Israel with him, and the tother multitude.
૨૧એલાઝાર યાજક પાસે તે ઊભો રહે, ઉરીમના નિર્ણય વડે યહોવાહની સમક્ષ તેને માટે પૂછે. તેના કહેવાથી તેઓ, એટલે તે તથા ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની આખી જમાત બહાર જાય અને અંદર આવે.
22 Moises dide as the Lord comaundide, and whanne he hadde take Josue, he settide hym bifore Eleazar, preest, and bifore al the multitude of the puple;
૨૨યહોવાહે મૂસાને આજ્ઞા આપી હતી તેમ તેણે કર્યું. તેણે યહોશુઆને લઈને એલાઝાર યાજક તથા સમગ્ર જમાતની સમક્ષ રજૂ કર્યો.
23 and whanne he hadde set hondis on his heed, he reherside alle thingis whiche the Lord comaundide.
૨૩યહોવાહે જેમ કરવાનું કહ્યું હતું તેમ મૂસાએ તેનો હાથ તેના પર મૂકીને સોંપણી કરી.
