Nehemiah 1

१हखल्याचा पुत्र नहेम्या याची ही वचनेः आता असे झाले की, अर्तहशश्त राजाच्या कारकीर्दीच्या विसाव्या वर्षी किसलेव महिन्यात मी, शूशन या राजवाड्यात होतो.

2 and Ananye, oon of my britheren, cam to me, he and men of Juda; and Y axide hem of the Jewis, that weren left, and weren alyue of the caitifte, and of Jerusalem.

२माझा हनानी नावाचा एक भाऊ आणि यहूदातील काही लोक तेथे आले. त्यांच्याकडे मी तेथे बंदिवासातून सुटका झालेल्यापैकी जे यहूदी बाकीचे राहिले होते त्यांच्याविषयी आणि यरूशलेमाविषयी मी त्यांची विचारपूस केली.

३त्यांनी मला सांगितले, “बंदिवासातून सुटका होऊन प्रांतात राहणारे हे लोक मोठ्या बिकट परिस्थितीत आहेत आणि त्यांची अप्रतिष्ठा होत आहे, कारण यरूशलेमची तटबंदी कोसळून पडली आहे आणि तसेच तिच्या वेशी जळून खाक झाल्या आहेत.”

4 And whanne Y hadde herd siche wordis, Y sat and wepte, and morenede many daies, and Y fastide, and preiede bifor the face of God of heuene;

४आणि हे ऐकताच मी खाली बसलो व रडू लागलो आणि कित्येक दिवस मी शोक व उपवास केला आणि स्वर्गीय देवापुढे प्रार्थना केली.

5 and Y seide, Y biseche, Lord God of heuene, strong, greet, and ferdful, which kepist couenaunt and merci with hem, that louen thee, and kepen thin heestis;

५मी म्हणालो, हे परमेश्वरा, स्वर्गातील देवा, तू महान व भयप्रद देव आहेस. तुझ्यावर प्रीती करणाऱ्या आणि तुझ्या आज्ञांचे पालन करणाऱ्या लोकांशी केलेला आपला करार पाळतोस व त्यांजवर करुणा करतोस.

6 thin eere be maad herknynge, and thin iyen openyd, that thou here the preier of thi seruaunt, bi which Y preie bifor thee `to dai, bi nyyt and dai, for the sones of Israel, thi seruauntis, and `Y knouleche for the synnes of the sones of Israel, bi which thei han synned to thee; bothe Y and the hows of my fadir han synned; we weren disseyued bi vanyte,

६तुझा सेवक अहोरात्र तुझी प्रार्थना करत आहे, ती तू कृपाकरून डोळे उघडून पाहा आणि कान देऊन ऐक, तुझ्या सेवकांच्या म्हणजेच इस्राएलाच्या वतीने मी प्रार्थना करत आहे. आम्ही इस्राएल लोकांनी तुझ्याविरुध्द जी पापे केली आहेत, ती मी कबुल करतो की, मी व माझ्या वडीलांच्या घराण्याने पाप केले आहे.

७आम्ही तुझ्या विरूद्ध अतिशय वाईट वर्तन केले आहे. तुझा सेवक मोशे याला तू दिलेल्या आज्ञा, शिकवण आणि नियम यांचे पालन आम्ही केले नाही.

८कृपया तुझा सेवक मोशे याला सांगितलेले वचन तू आठव. त्यास तू म्हणाला होतास, “जर तुम्ही अविश्वासू राहिलात तर मी तुम्हास दुसऱ्या राष्ट्रांमध्ये पांगवून टाकीन,

9 and if ye turnen ayen to me, that ye kepe myn heestis, and do tho, yhe, thouy ye ben led awei to the fertheste thingis of heuene, fro thennus Y schal gadere you togidere, and Y schal brynge you in to the place, which Y chees, that my name schulde dwelle there.

९पण तुम्ही माझ्याकडे परत आलात व माझ्या आज्ञा पाळल्यात आणि तसे कराल तर आकाशाच्या अंतापर्यंत जरी पांगलेले असाल तरी मी त्यांना तेथून एकत्र करीन. माझ्या नावासाठी म्हणून जे ठिकाण मी निवडले तेथे मी त्यांना परत आणीन.”

११तेव्हा, हे परमेश्वरा, मी तुला विनवणी करतो की, तुझ्या सेवकाच्या प्रार्थनेकडे आणि जे तुझे सेवक तुझ्या नावाचे भय धरून आदर दाखवित आहेत त्या सेवकांची ही प्रार्थना तू ऐक. आता आज तुझ्या सेवकाला यश दे आणि या मनुष्यावर त्याची कृपादृष्टी होईल असे कर. मी राजाचा पेला धरणारा असा सेवक होतो.
