John 17
1 These thingis Jhesus spak, and whanne he hadde cast vp hise iyen in to heuene, he seide, Fadir, the our cometh, clarifie thi sone, that thi sone clarifie thee.
Ainsi parla Jésus. Puis, levant les yeux au ciel, il dit: «Père, l'heure est venue; glorifie ton Fils, afin que le Fils te glorifie en donnant,
2 As thou hast youun to hym power on ech fleisch, that al thing that thou hast youun to hym, he yyue to hem euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
selon le pouvoir que tu lui as donné sur toute chair, la vie éternelle, à tous ceux que tu lui as donnés. (aiōnios g166)
3 And this is euerlastynge lijf, that thei knowe thee very God aloone, and whom thou hast sent, Jhesu Crist. (aiōnios g166)
Or voici l'éternelle vie: Te connaître, toi, le seul vrai Dieu et celui que tu as envoyé, Jésus-Christ.» (aiōnios g166)
4 Y haue clarified thee on the erthe, Y haue endid the werk, that thou hast youun to me to do.
«Moi, je t'ai glorifié sur la terre; j'ai accompli l'oeuvre que tu m'avais donnée à faire.
5 And now, fadir, clarifie thou me at thi silf, with the clerenesse that Y hadde at thee, bifor the world was maad.
Et maintenant, glorifie-moi, toi, Père, auprès de toi-même, de la gloire que j'avais, avant que le monde fût, auprès de toi.»
6 Y haue schewid thi name to tho men, whiche thou hast youun to me of the world; thei weren thine, and thou hast youun hem to me, and thei han kept thi word.
«J'ai révélé ton nom aux hommes que tu m'as donnés du monde. Ils étaient à toi, et tu me les as donnés; et ils ont gardé ta parole.
7 And now thei han knowun, that alle thingis that thou hast youun to me, ben of thee.
Maintenant ils ont reconnu que tout ce que tu m'as donné vient de toi,
8 For the wordis that thou hast youun to me, Y yaf to hem; and thei han takun, and han knowun verili, that Y wente out fro thee; and thei bileueden, that thou sentist me.
parce que les paroles que tu m'as données, je les leur ai données, et ils les ont reçues, et ils ont reconnu véritablement que je suis issu de toi, et ils ont cru que c'est toi qui m'as envoyé.»
9 Y preie for hem, Y preye not for the world, but for hem that thou hast youun to me, for thei ben thine.
«C'est pour eux que je prie; ce n'est pas pour le monde que je prie, mais pour ceux que tu m'as donnés parce qu'ils sont à toi —
10 And alle my thingis ben thine, and thi thingis ben myne; and Y am clarified in hem.
(or tout ce qui est à moi est à toi, et tout ce qui est à toi est à moi) — et que j'ai été glorifié en eux.
11 And now Y am not in the world, and these ben in the world, and Y come to thee. Hooli fadir, kepe hem in thi name, whiche thou yauest to me, that thei ben oon, as we ben.
Je ne suis plus dans le monde, mais eux sont dans le monde, et moi je viens à toi. Père saint! garde-les en ton nom, le nom que tu m'as donné, afin qu'ils soient uns comme nous.
12 While Y was with hem, Y kepte hem in thi name; thilke that thou yauest to me, Y kepte, and noon of hem perischide, but the sone of perdicioun, that the scripture be fulfillid.
Quand j'étais avec eux, c'est moi qui les gardais en ton nom, le nom que tu m'as donné, et je les ai préservés et aucun d'eux ne s'est perdu, excepté le fils de la perdition, afin que l'Écriture fût accomplie.
13 But now Y come to thee, and Y speke these thingis in the world, that thei haue my ioie fulfillid in hem silf.
Maintenant je viens à toi, et je parle ainsi, étant encore dans le monde, afin qu'ils aient en eux la plénitude de ma joie.»
14 Y yaf to hem thi word, and the world hadde hem in hate; for thei ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.
«Je leur ai donné ta parole, et le monde les a pris en haine, parce qu'ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.
15 Y preye not, that thou take hem awei fro the world, but that thou kepe hem fro yuel.
Je ne demande pas que tu les retires du monde, mais que tu les préserves du mal.
16 They ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.
Ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.
17 Halewe thou hem in treuth; thi word is treuthe.
Consacre-les dans la vérité. Ta parole est la vérité.»
18 As thou sentist me in to the world, also Y sente hem `in to the world.
«De même que tu m'as envoyé dans le monde, je les ai, moi aussi, envoyés dans le monde,
19 And Y halewe my silf for hem, that also thei ben halewid in treuthe.
et je me consacre moi-même pour eux afin qu'ils soient, eux aussi, consacrés en vérité.»
20 And Y preye not oneli for hem, but also for hem that schulden bileue in to me bi the word of hem;
«Ce n'est pas seulement pour eux que je prie, mais aussi pour ceux qui croient en moi par leur parole,
21 that all ben oon, as thou, fadir, in me, and Y in thee, that also thei in vs be oon; that the world bileue, that thou hast sent me.
afin que tous ils soient un, comme toi, Père, es en moi, et moi en toi, qu'eux aussi soient en nous, pour que le monde croie que c'est toi qui m'as envoyé.»
22 And Y haue youun to hem the clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me, that thei ben oon,
«Et moi, la gloire que tu m'as donnée, je la leur ai donnée, afin qu'ils soient un comme nous sommes un,
23 as we ben oon; Y in hem, and thou in me, that thei be endid in to oon; and that the world knowe, that thou sentist me, and hast loued hem, as thou hast loued also me.
moi en eux et toi en moi, que cette unité soit parfaite, et que le monde reconnaisse que c'est toi qui m'as envoyé, et que tu les as aimés comme tu m'as aimé.»
24 Fadir, thei whiche thou yauest to me, Y wole that where Y am, that thei be with me, that thei see my clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me; for thou louedist me bifor the makyng of the world.
«Père! ceux que tu m'as donnés, je veux que là où je suis, moi, ils y soient avec moi, afin qu'ils voient la gloire que tu m'as donnée, parce que tu m'as aimé avant la création du monde.»
25 Fadir, riytfuli the world knew thee not, but Y knew thee, and these knewen, that thou sentist me.
«Père juste! le monde ne t'a pas connu; mais moi je t'ai connu, et ceux-ci ont reconnu que c'est toi qui m'as envoyé.
26 And Y haue maad thi name knowun to hem, and schal make knowun; that the loue bi which thou `hast loued me, be in hem, and Y in hem.
Et je leur ai fait connaître ton nom; et je le leur ferai connaître, afin que l'amour dont tu m'as aimé soit en eux, et que je sois moi aussi en eux.»
