Jeremiah 1
1 The wordis of Jeremye, sone of Helchie, of the preestis that weren in Anathot, in the lond of Beniamyn.
(Dies sind) die Reden Jeremias, des Sohnes Hilkias, der zu der Priesterschaft in Anathoth im Lande Benjamin gehörte;
2 For the word of the Lord was maad to hym in the daies of Josie, the sone of Amon, kyng of Juda, in the threttenethe yeer of his rewme.
an ihn erging das Wort des HERRN in den Tagen des jüdäischen Königs Josia, des Sohnes Amons, im dreizehnten Jahre seiner Regierung,
3 And it was don in the daies of Joachym, the sone of Josie, the king of Juda, til to the endyng of the enleuenthe yeer of Sedechie, sone of Josie, kyng of Juda, til the passyng ouer, ether caitifte, of Jerusalem, in the fyuethe monethe.
und erging dann auch noch weiter an ihn in den Tagen des judäischen Königs Jojakim, des Sohnes Josias, bis zum Ablauf des elften Regierungsjahres des judäischen Königs Zedekia, des Sohnes Josias, bis zur Wegführung (der Bewohner) Jerusalems im fünften Monat (des elften Regierungsjahres Zedekias).
4 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
Es erging aber das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
5 and seide, Bifor that Y fourmede thee in the wombe, Y knewe thee; and bifor that thou yedist out of the wombe, Y halewide thee; and Y yaf thee a profete among folkis.
»Noch ehe ich dich im Mutterschoße bildete, habe ich dich erwählt, und ehe du das Licht der Welt erblicktest, habe ich dich geweiht: zum Propheten für die Völker habe ich dich bestimmt.«
6 And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, lo! Y kan not speke, for Y am a child.
Da antwortete ich: »Ach, HERR, mein Gott, sieh doch: ich verstehe ja nicht zu reden, denn ich bin noch so jung!«
7 And the Lord seide to me, Nyle thou seie, that Y am a child; for thou schalt go to alle thingis, to whiche Y schal sende thee, and thou schalt speke alle thingis, what euer thingis Y schal comaunde to thee.
Doch der HERR erwiderte mir: »Sage nicht, du seiest noch so jung! Denn zu allen, wohin ich dich senden werde, sollst du gehen, und alles, was ich dir auftragen werde, sollst du reden.
8 Drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y am with thee, to delyuere thee, seith the Lord.
Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin mit dir, um dich zu behüten!« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN.
9 And the Lord sente his hond, and touchide my mouth; and the Lord seide to me, Lo! Y haue youe my wordis in thi mouth; lo!
Hierauf streckte der HERR seine Hand aus und berührte meinen Mund mit ihr; dann sagte der HERR zu mir: »Hiermit lege ich meine Worte in deinen Mund!
10 Y haue ordeynede thee to day on folkis, and on rewmes, that thou drawe vp, and distrie, and leese, and scatere, and bilde, and plaunte.
Wisse wohl: ich bestelle dich heute über die Völker und über die Königreiche, um auszureißen und niederzureißen, zu vernichten und zu zerstören, (aber auch) um aufzubauen und zu pflanzen.«
11 And the word of the Lord was maad to me, and seide, What seest thou, Jeremye?
Weiter erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen: »Was siehst du, Jeremia?« Ich antwortete: »Einen Zweig vom wachen Baum sehe ich.«
12 And Y seide, Y se a yerde wakynge. And the Lord seide to me, Thou hast seen wel, for Y schal wake on my word, to do it.
Da sagte der HERR zu mir: »Du hast richtig gesehen: ja, ich wache über meinem Wort, um es in Erfüllung gehen zu lassen!«
13 And the word of the Lord was maad the secounde tyme to me, and seide, What seest thou? Y se a pot buylynge, and the face therof fro the face of the north.
Hierauf erging das Wort des HERRN an mich noch einmal folgendermaßen: »Was siehst du?« Ich antwortete: »Einen siedenden Kessel sehe ich, dessen Vorderseite von Norden her (gegen Süden) gerichtet ist.«
14 And the Lord seide to me, Fro the north schal be schewid al yuel on alle the dwelleris of the lond.
Da sagte der HERR zu mir: »Ja, von Norden her wird das Unglück sich siedend über alle Bewohner des Landes ergießen.
15 For lo! Y schal clepe togidere alle the naciouns of rewmes of the north, seith the Lord, and thei schulen come, and sette ech man his seete in the entryng of the yatis of Jerusalem, and on alle the wallis therof in cumpas, and on alle the citees of Juda.
Denn gib acht: ich will alle Völkerstämme der Reiche im Norden entbieten« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, »daß sie heranziehen und ein jeder seinen Thron aufstellt an den Eingang der Tore Jerusalems und gegen alle Mauern der Stadt ringsum und gegen alle Städte Judas.
16 And Y schal speke my domes with hem on al the malice of hem, that forsoken me, and maden sacrifice to alien goddis, and worschipiden the werk of her hondis.
Dann will ich Abrechnung mit ihnen halten wegen all ihrer Bosheit, daß sie von mir abgefallen sind und anderen Göttern geopfert und die Machwerke ihrer Hände angebetet haben.«
17 Therfor girde thou thi leendis, and rise thou, and speke to hem alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee; drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y schal not make thee for to drede the cheer of hem.
»Du aber, gürte dir die Hüften, mache dich auf und verkünde ihnen alles, was ich dir gebieten werde! Erschrick nicht vor ihnen, sonst setze ich dich vor ihnen in Schrecken!
18 For Y yaf thee to dai in to a strong citee, and in to an yrun piler, and in to a brasun wal, on al the lond, to the kyngis of Juda, and to the princis therof, and to the preestis therof, and to al the puple of the lond.
Denn wisse wohl: Ich selbst mache dich heute zu einer festen Burg, zu einer eisernen Säule und zu einer ehernen Mauer gegen das ganze Land, sowohl gegen die Könige von Juda als auch gegen dessen Fürsten, gegen dessen Priester und gegen die ganze Bevölkerung des Landes.
19 And thei schulen fiyte ayens thee, and thei schulen not haue the maistrie; for Y am with thee, seith the Lord, that Y delyuere thee.
Wenn sie auch gegen dich anstürmen, sollen sie dich doch nicht bezwingen; denn ich bin mit dir« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, »um dich zu behüten!«
