Jeremiah 7
1 The word that was maad of the Lord to Jeremye,
Das Wort, das an Jeremias von seiten des Herrn erging:
2 and seide, Stonde thou in the yate of the hous of the Lord, and preche there this word, and seie, Al Juda, that entren bi these yatis for to worschipe the Lord, here ye the word of the Lord.
"Betritt das Tor am Haus des Herrn! Und künde dort dies Wort und sprich: Vernehmt das Wort des Herrn, Judäer all, die ihr durch diese Tore kommt zur Anbetung des Herrn!
3 The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Make ye good youre weies, and youre studies, and Y schal dwelle with you in this place.
So spricht der Heeresscharen Herr, der Schutzgott Israels: 'Verbessert euer Wesen, euren Wandel, dann lasse ich euch hier an dieser Stätte wohnen.
4 Nyle ye triste in the wordis of leesyng, and seie, The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord is.
Dem Lügenworte trauet nicht! 'Des Herren Heiligtum! Des Herren Heiligtum! Des Herren Heiligtum ist das!'
5 For if ye blessen youre weies, and your studies; if ye doon doom bitwixe a man and his neiybore;
Ja, bessert ihr Wandel und Handel, und bringet ernstlich ihr das Recht zur Geltung beim Streit des einen mit dem andern,
6 if ye maken not fals caleng to a comelyng, and to a fadirles child, and to a widewe; nether scheden out innocent blood in this place, and goen not after alien goddis, in to yuel to you silf,
bedrückt ihr keine Fremden, Waisen, Witwen, vergießt ihr kein unschuldig Blut an dieser Stätte, und laufet ihr nicht andern Göttern nach zu eurem Schaden,
7 Y schal dwelle with you in this place, in the lond which Y yaf to youre fadris, fro the world and til in to the world.
dann bleibe ich bei euch an dieser Stätte allezeit, im Land, das euren Vätern ich von alters her verliehen.
8 Lo! ye trusten to you in the wordis of leesyng, that shulen not profite to you;
Doch seht! Ihr trauet diesen Lügenworten ohne Nutzen.
9 to stele, to sle, to do auowtrie, to swere falsli, to make sacrifice to Baalym, and to go aftir alien goddys, whiche ye knowen not.
Wie? Stehlen, morden, ehebrechen, falsch schwören und dem Baal räuchern und anderen Göttern folgen, die ihr gar nicht kennt!
10 And ye camen, and stoden bifor me in this hous, in which my name is clepid to help; and ye seiden, We ben delyuered, for we han do alle these abhomynaciouns.
Dann kommt ihr, tretet vor mich hin in diesem Haus, das meinen Namen trägt, und sprecht: "Wir sind geborgen." Und bald tut ihr all diese Greuel wieder.
11 Whether therfor this hous, wherynne my name is clepid to help bifore youre iyen, is maad a denne of theues? I, Y am, Y siy, seith the Lord.
Ist denn dies Haus, das meinen Namen trägt, in euren Augen eine Räuberhöhle? Doch ich, fürwahr, ich habe es bemerkt.'" Ein Spruch des Herrn.
12 Go ye to my place in Silo, where my name dwellide at the bigynnyng, and se ye what thingis Y dide to it, for the malice of my puple Israel.
"Geht nur nach Silo hin, zu meiner Stätte, wo ich im Anfang meinen Namen wohnen ließ! Und seht dort, was ich wegen der Verruchtheit meines Volkes Israel ihr angetan.
13 And now, for ye han do alle these werkis, seith the Lord, and Y spak to you, and roos eerli, and Y spak, and ye herden not, and Y clepide you, and ye answeriden not;
Weil ihr nun ganz das gleiche tut", ein Spruch des Herrn, "weil früh und spät ich zu euch rede, ihr aber mich nicht hört, weil ich euch anrufe, ihr aber keine Antwort gebt,
14 Y schal do to this hous, wherynne my name is clepid to help, and in which hous ye han trist, and to the place which Y yaf to you and to youre fadris, as Y dide to Silo.
so tue ich an diesem Haus, das meinen Namen trägt, auf das ihr euch verlaßt, und diesem Ort, den ich euch gab und euren Vätern, so, wie ich einst an Silo hab getan.
15 And Y schal caste you forth fro my face, as Y castide forth alle youre britheren, al the seed of Effraym.
Fortstoßen will ich sie von meinem Angesicht, so, wie ich alle eure Brüder auch verstoßen, den ganzen Stamm von Ephraim.
16 Therfor nyl thou preie for this puple, nether take thou heriyng and preier for hem; and ayenstonde thou not me, for Y schal not here thee.
Verrichte kein Gebet für dieses Volk! Kein klagend Wort und kein Gebet sprich aus für sie und dringe nicht in mich! Ich höre dich doch nicht.
17 Whether thou seest not, what these men don in the citees of Juda, and in the stretis of Jerusalem?
Ja, siehst du nicht ihr Treiben in den Städten Judas und in den Straßen von Jerusalem?
18 The sones gaderen stickis, and the fadris kyndlen a fier; and wymmen sprengen togidere ynnere fatnesse, to make kakis to the queen of heuene, to make sacrifice to alien goddis, and to terre me to wrathfulnesse.
Die Kinder sammeln Holz; die Väter zünden Feuer an. Die Weiber kneten Teig, um Kuchen für die Himmelskönigin zu backen und andern Göttern Opferschalen auszugießen. Sie wollen mir Verdruß bereiten.
19 Whether thei stiren me to wrathfulnesse? seith the Lord; whether thei stiren not hem silf in to schenschip of her cheer?
Bin ich's, dem sie Verdruß bereiten?" Ein Spruch des Herrn. "Und nicht vielmehr sich selbst zu ihrer eigenen Schande?"
20 Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! my strong veniaunce and myn indignacioun is wellid togidere on this place, on men, and on beestis, and on the tree of the cuntrei, and on the fruitis of erthe; and it schal be kyndlid, and it schal not be quenchid.
Darum spricht so der Herr, der Herr: "Fürwahr, mein Zorn, mein Grimm ergießt sich wegen dieser Stätte über Menschen, über Vieh, des Feldes Bäume und des Landes Frucht. Er brennt und ist nicht auszulöschen."
21 The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Heepe ye youre brent sacrifices to youre slayn sacrifices, and ete ye fleischis.
So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Schutzgott Israels: "Bringt eure Brand- und Schlachtopfer in Menge dar! Das Fleisch eßt selber!
22 For Y spak not with youre fadris, and Y comaundide not to hem of the word of brent sacrifices, and of slayn sacrifices, in the dai in which Y ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt.
Denn euren Vätern hab ich nichts gesagt und ihnen nichts geboten, als ich sie aus Ägypterland hinweggeführt, von Brand- und Schlachtopfern.
23 But Y comaundide this word to hem, and Y seide, Here ye my vois, and Y schal be God to you, and ye schulen be a puple to me; and go ye in al the weie which Y comaundide to you, that it be wel to you.
Nur das befahl ich ihnen: 'Auf meine Stimme hört! Dann bin ich für euch Gott, und ihr mein Volk. Den Weg, den ich euch weise, geht! Dann geht's euch gut.'
24 And thei herden not, nether bowiden doun her eere, but thei yeden in her lustis, and in the schrewidnesse of her yuel herte; and thei ben put bihynde, and not bifore,
Sie aber hörten nicht, noch neigten sie ihr Ohr. Sie wandelten im Trotze ihres bösen Herzens mit Absicht; statt vorwärts, gingen sie zurück.
25 fro the dai in which her fadris yeden out of the lond of Egipt til to this dai. And Y sente to you alle my seruauntis profetis, and Y roos eerli bi the dai, and Y sente.
Wohl sandte ich vom Tag, da eure Väter aus Ägypterland gezogen, bis heute alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch vom frühen Morgen an.
26 And thei herden not me, nether bowiden doun her eere; but thei maden hard her nol, and wrouyten worse than the fadris of hem.
Sie aber hörten nicht auf mich, noch neigten sie ihr Ohr. Sie steiften ihren Nacken und trieben's ärger noch als ihre Väter.
27 And thou schalt speke to hem alle these wordis, and thei schulen not heere thee; and thou schalt clepe hem, and thei schul not answere to thee.
Wenn du das alles ihnen sagst, und hören sie dich nicht, und rufst du ihnen zu, und geben sie nicht Antwort,
28 And thou schalt seie to hem, This is the folc, that herde not the vois of her Lord God, nether resseyuede chastysyng; feith perischide, and is takun awei fro the mouth of hem.
dann sprich zu ihnen: 'Das ist das Volk, das auf die Stimme seines Herrn und Gottes nicht mag hören und keine Zucht annimmt. Verschwunden ist die Treue, aus ihrem Mund entwichen.'"
29 Clippe thin heer, and cast awei, and take thou weilyng streiytli; for the Lord hath cast awei, and hath forsake the generacioun of his strong veniaunce.
Scher deine Locken ab! Wirf sie hinweg! Stimm auf den Höhn ein Klaglied an: "Verworfen hat der Herr, verstoßen das Geschlecht, auf das er zürnt!"
30 For the sones of Juda han do yuel bifor myn iyen, seith the Lord; thei han set her offendyngis in the hous, in which my name is clepid to help, that thei schulden defoule that hous;
"Denn Judas Söhne haben das getan, was mir mißfällt." Ein Spruch des Herrn. "Sie stellten ihre Greuelgötzen in dem Hause auf, das meinen Namen trägt, und sie entweihten es.
31 and thei bildiden hiye thingis in Tophet, which is in the valei of the sone of Ennon, that thei schulden brenne her sones and her douytris bi fier, whiche thingis Y comaundide not, nether thouyte in myn herte.
Und sie errichteten des Tophet Höhen im Tal Ben Hinnom, um ihre Söhne, ihre Töchter zu verbrennen. Nie hab ich solches je geboten; nie ist mir solches in den Sinn gekommen.
32 Therfor lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and it schal no more be seid Tophet, and the valei of the sone of Ennon, but the valey of sleyng; and thei schulen birie in Tophet, for ther is no place.
Fürwahr, deswegen sollen Zeiten kommen", ein Spruch des Herrn, "da spricht man nicht mehr von dem Tophet und vom Hinnomstal, nur noch vom Würgetal. Im Tophet wird man euch begraben: sonst ist kein Platz mehr da.
33 And the deed careyn of this puple schal be in to mete to the briddis of heuene, and to the beestis of erthe; and noon schal be that schal dryue awei.
Doch dienen auch die Leichen dieses Volks den Vögeln unterm Himmel und den wilden Tieren zum Fraß; kein Mensch verscheucht sie.
34 And Y schal make to ceesse the vois of ioye, and the vois of gladnesse, and the vois of spouse, and the vois of spousesse fro the citees of Juda, and fro the stretis of Jerusalem; for the lond schal be in desolacioun.
Aus den Städten Judas und aus den Straßen von Jerusalem laß ich verstummen Wonneruf und Freudenjubel, Gesang von Braut und Bräutigam. Zur Wüste wird das Land."
