Exodus 32
1 Forsothe the puple siy, that Moises made tariyng to come doun fro the hil, and it was gaderid ayens Aaron, and seide, Rise thou, and make goddis to vs, that schulen go bifore vs, for we witen not what bifelde to this Moises, that ladde vs out of the lond of Egipt.
Und das Volk sah, daß Mose verzog, vom Berge herabzukommen; und das Volk kam zusammen zu Aharon und sprachen zu ihm: Mache dich auf! mach uns Götter, die vor uns gehen; denn dieser Mose, der Mann, der uns aus Ägyptenland heraufgebracht: wir wissen nicht, was mit ihm geschehen ist.
2 And Aaron seide to hem, Take ye the goldun eere ryngis fro the eeris of youre wyues, and of sones and douytris, and brynge ye to me.
Und Aharon sprach zu ihnen: Reißet ab die goldenen Reife in den Ohren eurer Weiber, eurer Söhne und eurer Töchter und bringt sie mir.
3 The puple dide tho thingis, that he comaundide, and brouyte eere ryngis to Aaron;
Und das ganze Volk riß sich die goldenen Reife, die in ihren Ohren waren, ab, und brachten sie zu Aharon.
4 and whanne he hadde take tho, he formede bi `werk of yetyng, and made of tho a yotun calf. And thei seiden, Israel, these ben thi goddis, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt.
Und er nahm sie von ihrer Hand und bildete es mit dem Meißel und machte es zu einem gegossenen Kalb. Und sie sprachen: Dies sind deine Götter, Israel, die dich aus Ägyptenland heraufgebracht.
5 And whanne Aaron had seyn this thing, he bildide an auter bifore hym, and he criede bi the vois of a criere, and seide, To morewe is the solempnete of the Lord.
Und Aharon sah es, und baute einen Altar vor ihm, und Aharon rief aus und sprach: Morgen ist ein Fest für Jehovah!
6 And thei rysen eerli, and offeriden brent sacrifyces, and pesible sacrifices; and the puple sat to ete and drynke, and thei risen to pley.
Und früh am morgenden Tag standen sie auf und opferten Brandopfer auf und brachten Friedensopfer herbei, und das Volk setzte sich zu essen und zu trinken, und standen auf zum Spiel.
7 Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Go thou, go doun, thi puple hath synned, `whom thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt.
Und Jehovah redete zu Mose: Geh, steig hinab; denn verderblich handelt dein Volk, das du aus Ägyptenland heraufgebracht.
8 Thei yeden awei soone fro the weie which thou schewidst to hem, and thei maden to hem a yotun calf, and worschipyden it, and thei offeriden sacrifices to it, and seiden, Israel, these ben thi goddis, that ledden thee out of the lond of Egipt.
Eilends sind sie von dem Wege gewichen, den Ich ihnen geboten hatte. Sie haben sich ein gegossen Kalb gemacht und haben es angebetet und ihm geopfert, und gesagt: Dies sind deine Götter, Israel, die dich aus Ägyptenland heraufgebracht.
9 And eft the Lord seide to Moises, Y se, that this puple is of hard nol;
Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Ich habe dieses Volk gesehen, und siehe, es ist ein hartnäckiges Volk.
10 suffre thou me, that my woodnesse be wrooth ayens hem, and that Y do awey hem; and Y schal make thee in to a greet folk.
Und nun laß Mich bleiben, daß Mein Zorn gegen sie entbrenne, und Ich sie verzehre. Dich aber will Ich zu einer großen Völkerschaft machen.
11 Forsothe Moises preiede `his Lord God, and seide, Lord, whi is thi veniaunce wrooth ayens thi puple, whom thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt in greet strengthe and in stronge hond?
Und Mose flehte vor dem Angesicht Jehovahs, seines Gottes, und sprach: Warum soll Dein Zorn entbrennen, Jehovah, wider Dein Volk, das Du mit großer Kraft und starker Hand aus Ägyptenland heraufgebracht?
12 Y biseche, that Egipcians seie not, he ledde hem out felli, `that he schulde sle in the hillis, and to do awei fro erthe, thin ire ceesse, and be thou quemeful on the wickidnesse of thi puple.
Warum sollen die Ägypter sprechen und sagen: Zum Übel hat Er sie herausgebracht, um sie auf den Bergen zu erwürgen und vom Boden sie wegzutilgen? Kehre zurück vom Entbrennen Deines Zorns, und laß Dich des Bösen über Dein Volk gereuen!
13 Haue thou mynde of Abraham, of Ysaac, and of Israel, thi seruauntis, to whiche thou hast swore bi thi silf, and seidist, Y schal multiplie youre seed as the sterris of heuene, and Y schal yyue to youre seed al this lond of which Y spak, and ye schulen welde it euere.
Gedenke Abrahams, Isaaks und Israels, Deiner Knechte, denen Du geschworen bei Dir selbst, und zu denen Du geredet hast: Euren Samen will Ich mehren wie die Sterne des Himmels, und all dieses Land, davon Ich sagte, will Ich eurem Samen geben, und sie sollen es ewiglich erben.
14 And the Lord was plesid, that he dide not the yuel which he spak ayens his puple.
Und Jehovah ließ Sich gereuen des Bösen, wovon Er geredet hatte, Seinem Volke anzutun.
15 And Moises turnede ayen fro the hil, and bar in his hond twei tablis of witnessyng, writun in euer either side,
Und Mose wandte sich und ging vom Berg hinab, und die zwei Tafeln des Zeugnisses waren in seiner Hand, Tafeln von beiden Seiten her beschrieben. Von dieser und von der anderen Seite waren sie geschrieben.
16 and maad bi the werk of God; and the writyng of God was grauun in tablis.
Und die Tafeln waren von Gott gemacht. Und das Geschriebene war von Gott geschrieben und auf die Tafeln eingegraben.
17 Forsothe Josue herde the noise of the puple criynge, and seide to Moyses, Yellyng of fiytyng is herd in the castels.
Und Jehoschuah hörte die Stimme des Volkes in seinem Jubeln und sprach zu Mose: Die Stimme des Kriegs ist im Lager.
18 To whom Moises answeride, It is not cry of men exitynge to batel, nether the cry of men compellynge to fleyng, but Y here the vois of syngeris.
Und er sprach: Das ist nicht Stimme des Geschreis des Obsiegens, noch die Stimme des Geschreis des Unterliegens; solches ist wie die Stimme des Elends, was ich höre.
19 And whanne he hadde neiyid to the castels, he siy the calf, and dauncis; and he was wrooth greetli, and `castide forth the tablis fro the hond, and brak tho at the rootis of the hil.
Und es geschah, als er dem Lager nahte und das Kalb und die Reigentänze sah, da entbrannte Moses Zorn, und er warf die Tafeln aus seinen Händen und zerbrach sie unten am Berg.
20 And he took the calf, which thei hadden maad, and brente, and brak `til to poudur, which he spreynte in to watir, and yaf therof drynke to the sones of Israel.
Und er nahm das Kalb, das sie gemacht hatten und verbrannte es im Feuer, und zermahlte es, bis daß es fein war, und sprengte es auf das Wasser und ließ die Söhne Israels es trinken.
21 And Moises seide to Aaron, What dide this puple to thee, that thou brouytist in on hym the gretteste synne?
Und Mose sprach zu Aharon: Was hat dir dieses Volk getan, daß du eine so große Sünde über dasselbe gebracht hast?
22 To whom he answeride, My lord, be not wrooth, for thou knowist this puple, that it is enclynaunt to yuel;
Und Aharon sprach: Es entbrenne nicht der Zorn meines Herrn; du weißt, daß dieses Volk im Bösen ist.
23 thei seiden to me, Make thou goddis to vs, that schulen go bifore vs, for we witen not, what bifelde to this Moises, that ladde vs out of the lond of Egipt.
Und sie sprachen zu mir: Mache uns Götter, daß sie vor uns hergehen; denn der Mose da, der Mann, der uns von Ägyptenland heraufgebracht: wir wissen nicht, was ihm geschehen ist.
24 To whiche Y seide, Who of you hath gold? Thei token, and yauen to me, and Y castide it forth in to the fier, and this calf yede out.
Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Wer Gold hat, der reiße es sich ab. Und sie gaben es mir, und ich warf es ins Feuer, und dieses Kalb kam heraus.
25 Therfor Moyses siy the puple, that it was maad bare; for Aaron hadde spuylid it for the schenschip of filthe, and hadde maad the puple nakid among enemyes.
Und Mose sah, daß das Volk losgelassen war, da es Aharon losgelassen, so daß sie zum Gespötte würden denen, die wider sie aufständen;
26 And Moises stood in the yate of the castels, and seide, If ony man is of the Lord, be he ioyned to me; and alle the sones of Leuy weren gaderid to hym.
Und Mose stand am Tor des Lagers und sprach: Her zu mir, wer Jehovahs ist! Und es versammelten sich alle Söhne Levis zu ihm.
27 To whiche he seide, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, A man putte swerd on his hipe, go ye, and `go ye ayen fro yate `til to yate bi the myddil of the castels, and ech man sle his brother, freend, and neiybore.
Und er sprach zu ihnen: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Jeder von euch lege sein Schwert an seine Hüfte und gehe hin durch das Lager und kehre wieder von Tor zu Tor und erwürge jeder Mann seinen Bruder, und jeder Mann seinen Genossen, und jeder Mann seinen Nächsten.
28 The sones of Leuy diden bi the word of Moises, and as thre and twenti thousynd of men felden doun in that day.
Und die Söhne Levis taten nach dem Worte des Mose, und es fielen von dem Volk an selbigem Tag bei dreitausend Mann.
29 And Moises seide, Ye han halewid youre hondis to dai to the Lord, ech man in his sone, and brother, that blessyng be youun to you.
Und Mose sprach: Füllet heute eure Hand dem Jehovah, weil jeder wider seinen Sohn und wider seinen Bruder war, auf daß heute ein Segen über euch gegeben werde.
30 Sotheli whanne `the tother day was maad, Moises spak to the puple, Ye han synned the moost synne; Y schal stie to the Lord, if in ony maner Y schal mowe biseche hym for youre felony.
Und es geschah am morgenden Tag, daß Mose zu dem Volke sprach: Ihr habt eine große Sünde gesündigt, und nun will ich zu Jehovah hinaufgehen. Vielleicht daß ich eure Sünde versöhne.
31 And he turnede ayen to the Lord, and seide, Lord, Y biseche, this puple hath synned a greet synne, and thei han maad goldun goddis to hem; ethir foryyue thou this gilt to hem,
Und Mose kehrte zu Jehovah zurück und sprach: Ach, dieses Volk hat eine große Sünde gesündigt, und sich Götter aus Gold gemacht.
32 ether if thou doist not, do awey me fro thi book, which thou hast write.
Und nun, möchtest Du doch ihnen ihre Sünde vergeben, wo nicht, so wische mich doch aus Deinem Buche, das Du geschrieben hast.
33 To whom the Lord answeride, Y schal do awey fro my book hym that synneth ayens me;
Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Wer gegen Mich gesündigt hat, den werde Ich von Meinem Buche wischen.
34 forsothe go thou, and lede this puple, whydur Y spak to thee; myn aungel schal go bifore thee; forsothe in the day of veniaunce Y schal visite also this synne of hem.
Und nun geh, führe das Volk, wohin Ich dir gesagt habe, siehe, Mein Engel wird vor dir hergehen; aber am Tage Meiner Heimsuchung werde Ich ihre Sünde an ihnen heimsuchen.
35 Therfor the Lord smoot the puple for the gilt of the calf, which calf Aaron made.
Und Jehovah schlug das Volk darüber, daß sie das Kalb machten, das Aharon gemacht hatte.
