Exodus 28
1 Also applie thou to thee Aaron, thi brother, with hise sones, fro the myddis of the sones of Israel, that Aaron, Nadab, and Abyu, Eleazar, and Ythamar, be set in preesthod to me.
»Du aber sollst deinen Bruder Aaron nebst seinen Söhnen aus der Mitte der Israeliten zu dir herantreten lassen, damit er mir als Priester diene, nämlich Aaron und seine Söhne Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.
2 And thou schalt make an hooli clooth to Aaron, thi brother, in to glorie and fairenesse.
Du sollst also für deinen Bruder Aaron heilige Kleider anfertigen lassen, ihm zur Ehre und zum Schmuck.
3 And thou schalt speke to alle wise men in herte, whiche Y haue fillid with the spirit of prudence, that thei make clothis to Aaron, in whiche he schal be halewid, and schal mynystre to me.
Besprich dich also mit allen kunstverständigen Personen, die ich mit kunstsinnigem Geist erfüllt habe, daß sie die Kleider Aarons anfertigen, damit man ihn darin weihe und er mir als Priester dienen kann.
4 Forsothe these schulen be the clothis, whiche thei schulen make; `thei schulen make racional, and a clooth on the schuldris, a coote, and a streyt lynnun clooth, a mytre, and a girdil; hooli cloothis to Aaron, thi brother, and to hise sones, that thei be set in preesthod to me.
Folgendes aber sind die Kleidungsstücke, die sie anfertigen sollen: das Brustschild, das Schulterkleid, das Obergewand, das Unterkleid aus gewürfeltem Stoff, der Kopfbund und der Gürtel. Diese heiligen Kleider sollen sie für deinen Bruder Aaron und seine Söhne anfertigen, damit er mir als Priester diene;
5 And thei schulen take gold, and iacynt, and purpur, and `reed selk twies died, and bijs;
und zwar sollen sie Gold, blauen und roten Purpur, Karmesin und Byssus dazu verwenden.«
6 forsothe thei schulen make the clooth on the schuldris of gold, and of iacynt, and purpur, and of `reed selk twies died, and of bijs foldid ayen, bi broyderi werk of dyuerse colours.
»Das Schulterkleid sollen sie aus Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus in Kunstweberarbeit anfertigen.
7 It schal haue twey hemmes ioyned in euer either side of hiynessis, that tho go ayen in to oon.
Es soll ein Paar zusammenfügbarer Schulterstücke haben und an seinen beiden (oberen) Enden mittels derselben zusammengefügt werden.
8 Thilke weuyng, and al dyuersite of the werk schal be of gold, and iacynt, and purpur, and of `reed selk twies died, and bijs foldis ayen.
Die Binde, die sich an ihm befindet und dazu dient, es fest anzulegen, soll von gleicher Arbeit und aus einem Stück mit ihm bestehen, nämlich aus Goldfäden, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus.
9 And thou schalt take twei stoonys of onychym, and thou schalt graue in tho the names of the sones of Israel,
Ferner sollst du zwei Onyxsteine nehmen und die Namen der Söhne Israels in sie eingraben,
10 sixe names in o stoon, and sixe othere in the tother stoon, bi the ordre of her birthe;
sechs ihrer Namen auf den einen Stein und die sechs übrigen Namen auf den andern Stein, und zwar nach ihrer Geburtsfolge.
11 bi the werk of a grauere, and bi the peyntyng of a man that ourneth with gemmes thou schalt graue tho stoonys, with the names of the sones of Israel; and thou schalt enclose and cumpasse in gold.
In Steinschneiderarbeit, mittels Siegelstecherkunst, sollst du die beiden Steine mit den Namen der Söhne Israels stechen lassen, und mit einer Einfassung von goldenem Flechtwerk sollst du sie versehen.
12 And thou schalt sette tho stoonus in euer either side of the cloth on the schuldris, a memorial to the sones of Israel; and Aaron schal bere the names of hem bifor the Lord on euer either schuldre, for remembryng.
Dann sollst du die beiden Steine auf die beiden Schulterstücke des Schulterkleides als Steine des Gedenkens an die Israeliten setzen, damit Aaron ihre Namen vor dem HERRN auf seinen beiden Schultern zur Erinnerung trägt.
13 And thou schalt make hookis of gold,
Ferner sollst du Geflechte von Golddraht anfertigen
14 and twey litil chaynes of clenneste gold, cleuynge to hem silf togidere, whiche litil chaynes thou schalt sette in the hookis.
und zwei Kettchen von feinem Gold; in Gestalt von gedrehten Schnüren sollst du sie anfertigen und diese aus Schnüren geflochtenen Kettchen an den Goldgeflechten befestigen.«
15 Also thou schalt make the racional of doom by werk of dyuerse colours, bi the weuyng of the cloth on the schuldre, of gold, iacynt, and purpur, of `reed silk twies died, and of bijs foldid ayen.
»Sodann fertige das Orakel-Brustschild in Kunstweberarbeit an; ganz so, wie das Schulterkleid gearbeitet ist, sollst du es anfertigen, nämlich aus Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus sollst du es herstellen.
16 It schal be foure cornerid, and double; it schal haue the mesure of a pawme of the hond, as wel in lengthe, as in breede.
Viereckig soll es sein, doppelt gelegt, eine Spanne lang und eine Spanne breit.
17 And thou schalt sette ther ynne foure ordris of stoonys; in the firste ordre schal be the stoon sardius, and topazyus, and smaragdus;
Besetze es mit einem Besatz von Edelsteinen in vier Reihen von Steinen; eine Reihe: ein Karneol, ein Topas und ein Smaragd sollen die erste Reihe bilden;
18 in the secunde ordre schal be charbuncle, safir, and iaspis; in the thridde ordre schal be ligurie,
die zweite Reihe: ein Rubin, ein Saphir und ein Jaspis;
19 achates, and ametiste;
die dritte Reihe: ein Hyazinth, ein Achat und ein Amethyst;
20 in the fourthe ordre schal be crisolitus, onochyn, and berille; tho schulen be closid in gold, bi her ordris,
die vierte Reihe: ein Chrysolith, ein Soham und ein Onyx; in Goldgeflecht sollen sie bei ihrer Einsetzung gefaßt sein.
21 and schulen haue the names of the sones of Israel: tho schulen be graven with twelue names; al stonus bi hem silf, with the names of the sones `of Israel bi hem silf, bi twelue lynagis.
Die Steine sollen also entsprechend den Namen der Söhne Israels zwölf sein, nach deren Namen; mittels Siegelstecherkunst sollen sie, ein jeder mit seinem besonderen Namen nach den zwölf Stämmen versehen sein.
22 Thou schalt make in the racional chaynes cleuynge to hem silf togidere of pureste gold,
An dem Brustschild sollst du dann schnurähnlich geflochtene Kettchen von feinem Gold befestigen.
23 and thou schalt make twei goldun ryngis, whiche thou schalt sette in euer either hiynesse of racional.
Du sollst nämlich zwei goldene Ringe an dem Brustschilde anbringen und diese zwei Ringe an den beiden (oberen) Ecken des Brustschildes befestigen.
24 And thou schalt ioyne the goldun chaynes with the ryngis that ben in the brynkis therof,
Hierauf befestige die beiden goldenen Schnüre an den beiden Ringen, die sich an den (oberen) Ecken des Brustschildes befinden,
25 and thou schalt couple the `last thingis of tho chaynes to twey hookis in euer either side of the `cloth on the schuldur, that biholdith the racional.
und befestige die beiden (anderen) Enden der beiden Schnüre an den beiden Geflechten und diese wiederum an den Schulterstücken des Schulterkleides auf dessen Vorderseite.
26 And thou schalt make twei goldun ryngis, whiche thou schalt sette in the hiynesses of the racional, and in the hemmes of the cloth on the schuldur, that ben euene ayens, and biholden the lattere thingis therof.
Dann fertige noch zwei goldene Ringe an und setze sie an die beiden (unteren) Ecken des Brustschildes, und zwar an seinen inneren Saum, der dem Schulterkleide zugekehrt ist.
27 Also and thou schalt make tweyne othere goldun ryngis, that schulen be set in euer either side of the clooth on the schuldur bynethe, that biholdith ayens the face of the lowere ioynyng, that it may be set couenabli with the `cloth on the schuldre.
Fertige dann noch zwei goldene Ringe an und setze sie an die beiden Schulterstücke des Schulterkleides, unten an seine Vorderseite, dicht bei der Stelle, wo das Schulterkleid zusammengeht, oberhalb der Binde des Schulterkleides.
28 And the racional be boundun bi hise ryngis with the ryngis of the `cloth on the schuldre, with a lace of iacynt, that the ioyning maad craftili dwelle, and that the racional and `cloth on the schuldre moun not be departid ech fro other.
Hierauf knüpfe man das Brustschild mit seinen Ringen vermittels einer Schnur von blauem Purpur an die Ringe des Schulterkleides, so daß das Brustschild über der Binde des Schulterkleides fest anliegt und das Brustschild sich nicht von seiner Stelle auf dem Schulterkleide verschieben kann.
29 And Aaron schal bere the names of the sones of Israel in the racional of doom on his brest, whanne he entrith in to the seyntuarie, a memorial bifor the Lord with outen ende.
Aaron soll so die Namen der Söhne Israels an dem Orakel-Brustschild auf seinem Herzen tragen, sooft er in das Heiligtum hineingeht, zur beständigen Erinnerung vor dem HERRN.
30 Forsothe thou schalt sette in the racional of doom, techyng, and treuthe, whiche schulen be in the brest of Aaron, whanne he entrith bifor the Lord, and he schal bere the doom of the sones of Israel in his brest in the siyt of the Lord euere.
In das Orakel-Brustschild aber sollst du die (heiligen Lose) Urim und Thummim tun, damit sie auf dem Herzen Aarons liegen, sooft er vor den HERRN tritt; und Aaron soll so das Orakel für die Israeliten beständig vor dem HERRN auf seinem Herzen tragen.«
31 And thou schalt make the coote of the `cloth on the schuldre al of iacynt,
»Sodann sollst du das Obergewand zu dem Schulterkleide ganz aus blauem Purpur anfertigen.
32 in whos myddil aboue schal be an hood, and a wouun hemme `bi cumpas therof, as it is wont to be don in the hemmes of clothis, lest it be brokun liytli.
Seine Kopföffnung soll sich in der Mitte befinden, und rings um diese Öffnung soll ein Saum in Weberarbeit gehen; eine Öffnung soll es haben wie die eines Panzerhemdes, damit es nicht einreißt.
33 Forsothe bynethe at the feet of the same coote, bi cumpas, thou schalt make as `piyn applis, of iacynt, and purpur, of `reed selk twies died, and of biis foldid ayen; while smale bellis ben medlid in the myddis,
Unten an seinem Saum sollst du Granatäpfel aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin ringsum anbringen und zwischen ihnen goldene Glöckchen ringsum,
34 so that a litil `belle of gold be and a `piyn appil, and eft another litel belle of gold and a `pyn appil.
so daß am ganzen Saum des Obergewandes ringsum immer auf ein goldenes Glöckchen ein Granatapfel folgt.
35 And Aaron schal be clothid with that coote in the office of seruyce, that sown be herd, whanne he entrith in to the seyntuarie, and goith out, in the siyt of the Lord; and that he die not.
Aaron soll (dieses Kleid) tragen, um den heiligen Dienst darin zu versehen, damit man es klingeln hört, sooft er in das Heiligtum vor den HERRN hineingeht und sooft er hinausgeht, damit er nicht stirbt.«
36 And thou schalt make a plate of pureste gold, in which thou schalt graue bi the werk of a grauere, the holi to the Lord.
»Weiter sollst du ein Stirnblatt aus feinem Gold anfertigen und auf ihm mittels Siegelstecherarbeit die Worte eingraben: ›Dem HERRN geweiht‹.
37 And thou schalt bynde that plate with a lace of iacynt, and it schal be on the mytre,
Du sollst es dann mit einer Schnur von blauem Purpur versehen, damit es am Kopfbund angebracht werden kann: an dessen Vorderseite soll es sich befinden,
38 and schal neiye the forheed of the bischop. And Aaron schal bere the wickidnessis of hem whiche the sones of Israel `offeriden, and halewiden in alle her yiftis and fre yiftis; forsothe the plate schal euere be in `his forhed, that the Lord be plesid to him.
und zwar soll es auf der Stirn Aarons liegen, damit Aaron die Verfehlungen in betreff der heiligen Gaben, welche die Israeliten weihen, auf sich nimmt, welche heiligen Gaben sie auch darbringen mögen. Es soll also beständig auf seiner Stirn liegen, um die Israeliten wohlgefällig vor dem HERRN zu machen. –
39 And thou schalt bynde the coot of biis, and the myter of bijs, and thou schalt make also a girdil, `bi werk of broiderye.
Sodann sollst du das Unterkleid aus Byssus würfelförmig gemustert weben und einen Kopfbund aus Byssus anfertigen, auch einen Gürtel in Buntwirkerarbeit herstellen.«
40 Forsothe thou schalt make redi to `the sones of Aaron linnun cootis, and girdlis, and mytris, in to glorie and fairnesse.
»Ferner sollst du für die Söhne Aarons Unterkleider herstellen und ihnen Gürtel und hohe Mützen zur Ehre und zum Schmuck anfertigen.
41 And thou schalt clothe Aaron, thi brother, with alle these, and hise sones with hym. And thou schalt sacre the hondis of alle; and thou schalt halewe hem, that thei be set in preesthood to me.
Dann sollst du deinen Bruder Aaron und ebenso seine Söhne damit bekleiden und sollst sie salben, sie in ihr Amt einsetzen und sie weihen, damit sie mir als Priester dienen.
42 Also thou schalt make lynnun brechis, that thei hile the fleisch of her filthe fro the reynes `til to the hipis.
Auch fertige ihnen leinene Unterbeinkleider an zur Verhüllung ihrer Blöße; diese sollen von den Hüften bis an die Schenkel reichen,
43 And Aaron and hise sones schulen vse tho, whanne thei schulen entre in to the tabernacle of witnessyng, ether whanne thei neiyen to the auter, that thei mynystren in the seyntuarie, lest thei ben gilti of wickidnesse, and dien; it schal be a lawful thing euerlastynge to Aaron, and to his seed after hym.
und Aaron sowie seine Söhne sollen sie tragen, sooft sie in das Offenbarungszelt hineingehen oder an den Altar treten, um den Dienst im Heiligtum zu verrichten, damit sie keine Verschuldung auf sich laden und nicht sterben müssen. Diese Verordnung soll für ihn und seine Nachkommen nach ihm ewige Gültigkeit haben.«
