Exodus 19
1 In the thridde monethe of the goyng `of Israel out of the lond of Egipt, in this dai thei camen in to the wildirnesse of Synai;
W trzecim miesiącu od wyjścia synów Izraela z ziemi Egiptu, w tym samym dniu, przyszli na pustynię Synaj.
2 for thei yeden forth fro Rafidym, and camen til in to deseert of Synai, and settiden tentis in the same place; and there Israel settide tentis, euen ayens the hil.
Bo wyruszyli z Refidim i po przybyciu na pustynię Synaj rozbili obóz na pustyni; tam Izrael obozował naprzeciw góry.
3 Forsothe Moises stiede in to the hil to God; and the Lord clepide hym fro the mount, and seide, Thou schalt seie these thingis to the hows of Jacob, and thou schalt telle to the sones of Israel,
A Mojżesz wstąpił do Boga i PAN zawołał do niego z góry: Tak powiesz domowi Jakuba i oznajmisz synom Izraela:
4 Ye silf han seyn what thingis Y haue do to Egipcians, how Y bar you on the wengis of eglis, and took to me.
Widzieliście, co uczyniłem Egipcjanom i jak niosłem was na skrzydłach orłów, i przyprowadziłem was do siebie.
5 Therfor if ye schulen here my vois, and schulen kepe my couenaunt, ye schulen be to me in to a specialte of alle puplis; for al the lond is myn;
Dlatego teraz, jeśli posłuchacie mego głosu i będziecie przestrzegać mojego przymierza, będziecie moją szczególną własnością ponad wszystkie narody, bo do mnie należy cała ziemia.
6 and ye schulen be to me in to a rewme of preesthod, and `ye schulen be an hooli folk; these ben the wordis whiche thou schalt speke to the sones of Israel.
A wy będziecie mi królestwem kapłanów i narodem świętym. To są słowa, które będziesz mówić do synów Izraela.
7 Moyses cam, and whanne the gretter men in birthe of the puple weren clepid to gidere, he expownede alle the wordis whiche the Lord comaundide.
Wtedy Mojżesz przyszedł i zwołał starszych ludu, i wyłożył im wszystkie te słowa, które mu PAN nakazał.
8 And alle the puple answeride to gidere, We schulen do alle thingis whiche the Lord spak. And whanne Moises hadde teld the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
Cały lud odpowiedział wspólnie: Uczynimy wszystko, co PAN powiedział. I Mojżesz zaniósł słowa ludu do PANA.
9 the Lord seide to hym, Riyt now Y schal come to thee in a derknesse of a cloude, that the puple here me spekynge to thee, and bileue to thee withouten ende. Therfor Moises telde the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Oto przyjdę do ciebie w gęstym obłoku, aby lud słyszał, gdy będę z tobą rozmawiał, i uwierzył ci na zawsze. A Mojżesz przekazał PANU słowa ludu.
10 which seide to Moises, Go thou to the puple, and make hem holi to dai and to morewe, and waische thei her clothis,
PAN zaś mówił do Mojżesza: Idź do ludu i uświęć ich dziś i jutro, i niech wypiorą swoje szaty.
11 and be thei redi in to the thridde dai; for in the thridde dai the Lord schal come doun bifore al the puple on the hil of Synai.
Niech będą gotowi na trzeci dzień. Trzeciego dnia bowiem PAN zstąpi na oczach całego ludu na górę Synaj.
12 And thou schalt sette termes to the puple, bi cumpas; and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye war, that ye `stie not in to the hil, nether touche ye the endis therof; ech man that schal touche the hil, schal die bi deeth.
I wyznaczysz ludowi granice dokoła, mówiąc: Strzeżcie się, abyście nie wstępowali na górę ani nie dotykali jej podnóża. Każdy, kto dotknie góry, poniesie śmierć.
13 Hondis schulen not touche hym, but he schal be oppressid with stoonus, ethir he shall be persid with dartis; whether it schal be a beest, ethir a man, it schal not lyue; whanne a clarioun schal bigynne to sowne, thanne `stie thei in to the hil.
Nie dotknie go ręka, ale ukamienują [go] albo przeszyją strzałami; czy to zwierzę, czy człowiek, nie będzie żyć. Gdy przeciągle będą trąbić, niech podejdą do góry.
14 And Moises cam doun fro the hil to the puple, and halewide it; and whanne thei hadden waischun her clothis,
Mojżesz zstąpił więc z góry do ludu i uświęcił lud, a oni uprali swoje szaty.
15 he seide to hem, Be ye redi in to the thridde dai, neiye ye not to youre wyues.
I mówił do ludu: Bądźcie gotowi na trzeci dzień, nie zbliżajcie się do żon.
16 And now the thridde day was comun, and the morewetid was cleer; and, lo! thundris bigunnen to be herd, and leitis to schyne, and a moost thicke cloude to hile the mounteyn; and `the sownyng of a clarioun made noise ful greetli, and the puple dredde, that was in the castels.
Trzeciego dnia o poranku pojawiły się grzmoty i błyskawice, i gęsty obłok nad górą, i bardzo potężny głos trąby, tak że cały lud, który był w obozie, zadrżał.
17 And whanne Moises hadde led hem out in to the comyng of God, fro the place of castels, thei stoden at the rootis of the hil.
I Mojżesz wyprowadził lud z obozu na spotkanie z Bogiem, i stanęli u stóp góry.
18 Forsothe al the hil of Synai smokide, for the Lord hadde come doun theronne in fier; and smoke stiede therof as of a furneis, and al the hil was ferdful;
A góra Synaj cała dymiła, gdyż PAN zstąpił na nią w ogniu. Dym unosił się z niej jak dym z pieca i cała góra bardzo się trzęsła.
19 and the `sown of a clarioun encreesside litil and litil, and was holdun forth lengere. Moises spak, and the Lord answeride to hym,
A gdy głos trąby się przeciągał i coraz bardziej się rozlegał, Mojżesz mówił, a Bóg odpowiadał mu głosem.
20 and the Lord cam doun on the hil of Synay, in thilke cop of the hil, and clepide Moises to the cop therof. And whanne he hadde stied thidur,
I PAN zstąpił na górę Synaj, na szczyt góry. Wtedy PAN wezwał Mojżesza na szczyt góry i Mojżesz [tam] wstąpił.
21 the Lord seide to hym, Go thou doun, and witnesse thou to the puple, lest perauenture it wole passe the termes to se the Lord, and ful greet multitude therof perische;
Potem PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Zejdź, przestrzeż lud, by nie przekroczył granicy, aby zobaczyć PANA, i aby wielu z nich nie zginęło.
22 also preestis, that neiyen to the Lord, be halewid, lest Y smyte hem.
Nawet kapłani, którzy zbliżają się do PANA, niech się uświęcą, by ich PAN nie wytracił.
23 And Moises seide to the Lord, The comyn puple may not stie in to the hil of Synai; for thou hast witnessid, and hast comaundid, seiyinge, Sette thou termes aboute the hil, and halewe it.
I Mojżesz powiedział do PANA: Lud nie może wejść na górę Synaj, ponieważ ty nas przestrzegłeś, mówiąc: Wyznacz granice wokół góry i uświęć ją.
24 To whom the Lord seide, Go thou doun, and thou schalt stie, and Aaron with thee; forsothe the preestis and the puple passe not the termes, nethir stie thei to the Lord, lest perauenture he sle hem.
PAN powiedział do niego: Idź, zejdź, a [potem] wstąpisz ty i Aaron z tobą. Lecz kapłani i lud niech nie przekraczają [granicy], by wstąpić do PANA, aby ich nie wytracił.
25 Moises yede doun to the puple, and telde alle thingis to hem.
Mojżesz zszedł więc do ludu i powiedział im to.
