< Daniel 9 >

1 In the firste yeer of Darius, the sone of Assuerus, of the seed of Medeis, that was emperour on the rewme of Caldeis,
‌ʻI he ʻuluaki taʻu ʻo Talaiasi ko e foha ʻo ʻAhasivelo ko e hako ʻoe kau Mitia, ʻaia naʻe fakanofo ko e tuʻi ki he puleʻanga ʻoe kau Kalitia;
2 in the firste yeer of his rewme, Y, Danyel, vndurstood in bookis the noumbre of yeeris, of which noumbre the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, the profete, that seuenti yeer of desolacioun of Jerusalem schulde be fillid.
‌ʻI he ʻuluaki taʻu ʻo ʻene pule, ko au Taniela naʻaku ʻilo mei he ngaahi tohi, hono lau ʻoe ngaahi taʻu ʻaia naʻe hoko ai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kia Selemaia, ko e palōfita, koeʻuhi ʻi he pehē, ʻE fakakakato ʻae taʻu ʻe fitungofulu mo e fakalala ʻo Selūsalema.
3 And Y settide my face to my Lord God, to preie and to biseche in fastyngis, in sak, and aische.
Pea ne u hanga hoku mata kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ke kumi ʻi he lotu mo e ngaahi kole mo e ʻaukai mo e ʻai ʻae tauangaʻa mo e efuefu.
4 And Y preiede my Lord God, and Y knoulechide, and seide, Y biseche, thou Lord God, greet and ferdful, kepynge couenaunt and mercy to hem that louen thee, and kepen thi comaundementis.
Pea ne u lotu kia Sihova, ko hoku ʻOtua, pea ne u fai ʻeku vete, pea ne u pehē, “ʻE Sihova, ko e ʻOtua lahi mo fakamanavahēʻia, ʻoku ʻiate ia ʻae fuakava mo e ʻaloʻofa maʻanautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate ia, pea kiate kinautolu ʻoku maʻu ʻene ngaahi fekau:
5 We han synned, we han do wickidnesse, we diden unfeithfuli, and yeden awei, and bowiden awei fro thi comaundementis and domes.
“Kuo mau angahala, pea kuo mau fai angahala mo fai kovi, pea kuo mau talangataʻa, ʻio, ʻi heʻemau hē mei hoʻo ngaahi fekau pea mo hoʻo ngaahi fakamaau:
6 We obeieden not to thi seruauntis, profetis, that spaken in thi name to oure kyngis, to oure princes, and to oure fadris, and to al the puple of the lond.
Pea naʻe ʻikai te mau fanongo ki hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki ʻae kau palōfita, ʻakinautolu naʻe lea ʻi ho huafa ki homau ngaahi tuʻi, mo homau houʻeiki mo ʻemau ngaahi tamai, pea mo e kakai kotoa pē ʻoe fonua.
7 Lord, riytfulnesse is to thee, forsothe schenschipe of face is to vs, as is to dai to a man of Juda, and to the dwelleris of Jerusalem, and to al Israel, to these men that ben niy, and to these men that ben afer in alle londis, to which thou castidist hem out for the wickidnessis of hem, in whiche, Lord, thei synneden ayens thee.
‌ʻE ʻEiki ʻoku ʻaʻau ʻae māʻoniʻoni ka ʻoku ʻamautolu ʻae mā ʻoe mata, ʻo hangē ko e ʻaho ni; ki he kau tangata ʻo Siuta, pea ki he kakai ʻo Selūsalema, pea ki ʻIsileli kotoa pē ʻoku ofi mo mamaʻo atu ʻi he ngaahi fonua kotoa pē ʻaia kuo ke kapusi ʻakinautolu ki ai, koeʻuhi ko e angahala kuo nau fai angahala ai kiate koe.
8 Schame of face is to vs, to oure kyngis, to oure princes, and to oure fadris, that synneden;
‌ʻE ʻEiki ʻoku ʻamautolu ʻae mā ʻoe mata, ʻa homau ngaahi tuʻi, mo homau houʻeiki, pea mo ʻemau ngaahi tamai, koeʻuhi kuo mau fai angahala kiate koe.
9 but merci and benygnytee is to thee, oure Lord God. For we yeden awei fro thee,
‌ʻOku ʻia Sihova ko homau ʻOtua ʻae ngaahi ʻaloʻofa mo e fakamolemole, ka naʻa mau angatuʻu kiate ia;
10 and herden not the vois of oure Lord God, that we schulden go in the lawe of hym, whiche he settide to vs bi hise seruauntis, profetis.
Pea naʻe ʻikai te mau talangofua ki he leʻo ʻo Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, ke ʻalu ʻi hono ngaahi fono ʻaia naʻa ne fokotuʻu ʻi homau ʻao, ʻi heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki ko e kau palōfita.
11 And al Israel braken thi lawe, and bowiden awei, that thei herden not thi vois; and cursyng, and wlatyng, which is writun in the book of Moises, the seruaunt of God, droppide on vs, for we synneden to hym.
‌ʻIo, kuo maumau ʻe ʻIsileli kotoa pē hoʻo fono, ʻi heʻenau tafoki, ke ʻoua naʻa nau talangofua ki ho leʻo; ko ia, kuo lilingi ai ʻae malaʻia kiate kimautolu, pea mo e fuakava ʻaia ʻoku tohi ʻi he fono ʻa Mōsese, ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻae ʻOtua, koeʻuhi kuo mau fai angahala kiate ia.
12 And he ordeynede hise wordis, whiche he spak on vs, and on oure princes, that demyden vs, that thei schulden brynge in on vs greet yuel, what maner yuel was neuer vndur al heuene, bi that that is doon in Jerusalem,
Pea kuo ne fakamoʻoni ki heʻene ngaahi folofola, ʻaia naʻa ne folofola kiate kimautolu, pea mo homau kau fakamaau, ʻaia naʻe fakamaauʻi ʻakimautolu, ʻi heʻene ʻomi kiate kimautolu ʻae kovi lahi: he naʻe ʻikai ha fai ʻi he lalo langi kotoa pē ʻo hangē ko ia kuo fai ki Selūsalema.
13 as it is writun in the lawe of Moises. Al this yuel cam on vs, and, oure Lord God, we preieden not thi face, that we schulden turne ayen fro oure wickidnessis, and schulden thenke thi treuthe.
‌ʻO hangē ko ia naʻe tohi ʻi he fono ʻa Mōsese, kuo hoko ʻae kovi ni kotoa pē kiate kimautolu: ka naʻe ʻikai ke fai ʻemau lotu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke mau tafoki mei heʻemau ngaahi hia, pea ʻilo hoʻo moʻoni.
14 And the Lord wakide on malice, and brouyt it on vs; oure Lord God is iust in alle his werkis whiche he made, for we herden not his vois.
Ko ia kuo leʻohi ʻa Sihova ki he kovi, pea kuo ne fakahoko ia kiate kimautolu: he ʻoku māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, ʻi heʻene ngāue kotoa pē ʻaia ʻoku ne fai: he naʻe ʻikai te mau talangofua ki hono leʻo.
15 And now, Lord God, that leddist thi puple out of the lond of Egipt in strong hond, and madist to thee a name bi this dai, we han synnede,
“Pea ko eni, ʻE ʻEiki ko homau ʻOtua, ʻa koe naʻa ke ʻomi ʻa hoʻo kakai mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite ʻaki ʻae nima mālohi, pea kuo ke maʻu kiate koe ʻae ongoongo, ʻo hangē ʻi he ʻaho ni; kuo mau angahala, kuo mau fai kovi.
16 we han do wickidnesse, Lord, ayens thi riytfulnesse. Y biseche, thi wraththe and thi stronge veniaunce be turned awey fro thi citee Jerusalem, and fro thi hooli hil; for whi for oure synnes, and for the wickidnessis of oure fadris, Jerusalem and thi puple ben in schenschipe, to alle men bi oure cumpas.
“ʻE Sihova ʻoku ou kole kiate koe, ʻo fakatatau mo hoʻo māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē, ke fakaʻafeʻi ho houhau mo ho tuputāmaki lahi mei hoʻo kolo ko Selūsalema, ko ho moʻunga tapu: he koeʻuhi ko ʻemau ngaahi hia, pea mo e hia ʻa ʻemau ngaahi tamai, kuo hoko ʻa Selūsalema, mo hoʻo kakai, ko e manukiʻanga kiate kinautolu kotoa pē, ʻoku nofo takatakai kiate kimautolu.
17 But now, oure God, here thou the preyer of thi seruaunt, and the bisechyngis of him, and schewe thi face on thi seyntuarie, which is forsakun.
Pea ko eni, ʻe homau ʻOtua, fanongo ki he hū ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, mo ʻene ngaahi kole, pea tuku ke ulo mai ho fofonga ki ho fale tapu, ʻaia ʻoku lala, koeʻuhi ko koe pe, ʻe ʻEiki.
18 My God, for thi silf boowe doun thin eere, and here; opene thin iyen, and se oure desolacioun, and the citee, on which thi name is clepid to help. For not in oure iustifiyngis we setten forth mekeli preiers bifor thi face, but in thi many merciful doyngis.
‌ʻE hoku ʻOtua, fakatokangaʻi ho fofonga, pea fanongo, ke ke fofonga ʻaa, pea ʻafioʻi homau tuʻutāmaki, pea mo e kolo ʻoku ui ʻaki ho huafa: he ʻoku ʻikai te mau ʻatu ʻemau ngaahi kole ki ho ʻao, koeʻuhi ko ʻemau māʻoniʻoni, ka koeʻuhi ko hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa lahi.
19 Lord, here thou; Lord, be thou plesid, perseyue thou, and do; my Lord God, tarie thou not, for thi silf, for thi name is clepid to help on the citee, and on thi puple.
‌ʻE ʻEiki, fanongo, ʻE ʻEiki, fakamolemole; ʻE ʻEiki, tokanga, mo fai; ʻoua naʻa fakatuai, koeʻuhi pe ko koe, ʻe hoku ʻOtua; he ko hoʻo kolo, mo hoʻo kakai ʻoku ui ʻaki ho huafa.”
20 And whanne Y spak yit, and preiede, and knoulechide my synnes, and the synnes of my puple Israel, that Y schulde sette forth mekeli my preieris in the siyt of my God, for the hooli hil of my God,
Pea lolotonga ʻeku kei lea, mo lotu, mo fakahā ʻeku hia, mo e hia ʻa hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli, mo ʻeku kei ʻatu ʻeku kole ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ko e moʻunga tapu ʻo hoku ʻOtua;
21 the while Y spak yit in my preyer, lo! the man Gabriel, whom Y hadde seyn in visioun at the bigynnyng, flei soone, and touchide me in the tyme of euentid sacrifice;
‌ʻIo, ʻi he lolotonga ʻeku kei lea ʻi he lotu, naʻe fekau ke puna vave mai ʻae tangata, ʻio, ko Kepeleli, ʻaia naʻaku mamata ʻi he meʻa hā mai ʻi hono kamataʻanga, pea naʻe haʻu ia ʻo ala kiate au, ʻi he feituʻulaʻā ʻoe feilaulau efiafi.
22 and he tauyt me, and he spak to me, and seide, Danyel, now Y yede out, that Y schulde teche thee, and thou schuldist vndurstonde.
Pea ne fakahā mai, pea naʻa ma talanoa mo au, ʻo ne pehē, “ʻE Taniela, kuo u toki haʻu koeʻuhi ke tuku kiate koe ʻae poto mo e ʻilo.
23 Fro the bigynnyng of thi preieris a word yede out. Forsothe Y cam to schewe to thee, for thou art a man of desiris; therfor perseyue thou the word, and vndurstonde thou the visioun.
‌ʻI he kamata fai ʻa hoʻo ngaahi kole naʻe hoko mai ʻae fekau, pea kuo u haʻu ke fakahā kiate koe; he ko e ʻofeina lahi koe: ko ia ke ke ʻilo ʻae meʻa pea ke fakakaukau ki he meʻa hā mai.
24 Seuenti woukis of yeeris ben abreggid on thi puple, and on thin hooli citee, that trespassyng be endid, and synne take an ende, and that wickidnesse be doon awei, and euerlastynge riytfulnesse be brouyt, and that the visioun, and prophesie be fillid, and the hooli of seyntis be anoyntid.
“Kuo kotofa pau ʻae uike ʻe fitungofulu ki hoʻo kakai, mo hoʻo kolo tapu, ke fakaʻosi ʻae angahala, mo fakangata ʻae ngaahi hia, pea ke fai ʻae fakalelei koeʻuhi ko e angahia, pea ke fakahoko mai ʻae māʻoniʻoni taʻengata, pea ke fakamaau ke maʻu ʻae meʻa hā mai mo e kikite, pea ke fakanofo ʻae Fungani Māʻoniʻoni.
25 Therfor wite thou, and perseyue; fro the goyng out of the word, that Jerusalem be bildid eft, til to Crist, the duyk, schulen be seuene woukis of yeeris and two and sixti woukis of yeeris; and eft the street schal be bildid, and wallis, in the angwisch of tymes.
Ko ia ke ke poto pea ke ʻilo, mei he fakahā ʻoe fekau ke fakafoʻou mo langa ʻa Selūsalema, ʻo aʻu ki he Misaia ko e ʻEiki, ko e uike ʻe fitu ia, mo e uike ʻe onongofulu ma ua: ʻe toe langa ʻae hala mo e ʻa maka, ʻio, ʻi he kuonga ʻoe maveuveu.
26 And after two and sixti woukis `of yeeris Crist schal be slayn. And it schal not be his puple, that schal denye hym. And the puple with the duyk to comynge schal distrie the citee, and the seyntuarie; and the ende therof schal be distriyng, and after the ende of batel schal be ordeynede desolacioun.
Pea hili ʻae uike ʻe onongofulu ma ua ʻe motuhi ʻae Misaia, ka e ʻikai koeʻuhi ko ia: pea ko e kakai ʻoe ʻeiki ʻe haʻu, te nau fakaʻauha ʻae kolo mo e potu tapu; pea ko hono ngata ʻo ia ʻe hoko ʻo hangē ko e melemo, pea kuo pau pe ke fai ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi kovi, ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga ʻoe taʻu.
27 Forsothe o wouk `of yeeris schal conferme the couenaunt to many men, and the offryng and sacrifice schal faile in the myddis of the wouke of yeeris; and abhomynacioun of desolacioun schal be in the temple, and the desolacioun schal contynue til to the parformyng and ende.
Pea ʻe fakamoʻoni ʻe ia ʻae fuakava mo e tokolahi ʻi he uike ʻe taha: pea ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe uike ʻe fakangata ʻe ia hono fai ʻae feilaulau, mo e feilaulau tutu; pea ʻoka kāpui ia ʻe he meʻa fakalielia ʻoe fakaʻauha, ʻe fai ʻaia kuo tuʻutuʻuni ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga, pea ʻe lilingi atu ia ki he fakaʻauha.”
