4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, that man shall not live by bread only, but on every word of God.
UYisu akhambula, “Yisimbiwe; 'umnu sakhatame nu nkata vuvule.”
5 And the devil taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed Him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant,

7 Therefore, if thou wilt but worship me, they all shall be thine.
Pwu lino, ingave vugundama ni kwisaya, ifinu ifi fyoni fiva fyakho.”
8 And Jesus answering him said with indignation, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.
Pwu Yisu akhanda akhata, “Yesimbiwe, “Vwisayage kwa Nguluve vakho, nu khumbombela umwene vuvule.”
9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set him on a battlement of the temple, and said to Him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence;

12 And Jesus answered him, it is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
UYisu akhanda akhata, “Lichovivwe, “Ulanngela ukuludeva Unguluve vakho.”
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a time.

18 "The spirit of the Lord is upon me to the end, for which He hath anointed me: He hath sent me to publish good tidings to the poor, to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to release them that are bruised,

20 And He folded up the book, and gave it again to the minister, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon Him.

21 And He said unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Akhatengula ukhuchova navo alikhuta, “Ilelo uvusimbe uvwu vufkhe mu mbulukhutu chenyo.”
22 And they all bare witness to Him, and wondered at the gracefulness of the words, which proceeded from his mouth, and said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
Pala khila munu alikhulola ikyu alikhuchova u Yisu, nu vingi uvuvalepwo valikhudega na mamenyu ga luhala ugwa galikhu kumo mundomo gwa mwene. valinkuta, “Uyu mwana vuvule va Yosefu, savu yilivwo?”
23 And He said unto them, No doubt ye will apply to me this proverb, "Physician, cure thyself, and do here in thy own country what we have heard were done at Capernaum."
UYisu au havavula, “Lweli yamwichova ikhihnicho ikhi kyulyune, 'Uliganga iponie yuve. kyoyoni ikyutupulikhe ulikhuvomba kwu kapernaumu, uvombe pakhijiji kyakho apa.”
24 But, said He, indeed I must tell you, that no prophet is well received in his own country.
Khange akhata, “lweli nikhuvavula umwe, asikhuli unyamalago uvevi khumwidikha mkilunga kya kya mwene.”
25 And I assure you, there were many widows in Israel, in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, and there was a great famine through all the land;
Pwu nikhuvavula umwe lweli ukhuta valipwo avalekhwa vingi mu Israeli imisikhi gya Eliya, khukhanya kwa dindiwe khulekhe ukhuva ni fula imiakha kidatu ne nusu, vwukhulini njala imbaha ikhilunga kywoni.

29 and they rose up and drove Him out of the city, and dragged Him to the brow of the hill, on which their city was built, in order to throw Him down the precipice.

Pwu khikha mu Kapernaumu, mjini ugwa Galilaya. Isabato yimo alikumanyisye avanu mgato nu mtembile.
32 and they were astonished at his doctrine; for He spake with authority.
Valikudega nulumanyisyo lwa vene, ulwa khuva alikhumanyisya khu makha.
33 And there was a man in the synagogue possessed by the spirit of an impure demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
Pwu ikhigono ikhyo mgati mtembile, ale epwo umunu unyamepo imbivi, pwu akhalila khulimenyu ilya kukhyanya,
34 saying, Let us alone, what hast thou to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know who thou art, the holy one of God:
“Tulinikhekhi nuve, Yesu va Mnasareti? Wichile kukhotuyocha? Nihemanyila uve veve veni! Veve mbalache va Nguluve!”
35 but Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him. And the demon threw him down in the midst of the assembly, and came out of him, having done him no hurt.
UYisu akhadukha khumepo akhata, “Nunala mye, khange uhume mu munu oyu!” Imepo ila yikhataga umunu ule pasi pagati pavene, akhahuma mu munu khange sakivone uluvavo.
36 And they were all amazed, and said one to another, What a speech is this? for with authority and power He commandeth the impure spirits, and they come out!
Avanu voni valikudega, khange valikupichova imbombo iyo umunu nu nunine. Valikuta, “Gomanyu makhi aga?” Ilamula imepo imbivi khuvutwa na makha vevihege.”
37 And his fame spread all over the country round about.
Pwu, imongwa cha Yisu chilikhuluta kwoni mu khilunga ikhichongotile unkoa ugwa.
38 And He rose up and went out of the synagogue, and came into the house of Simon: now Simon's wife's mother had a violent fever, and they intreated Him on her behalf.

41 And demons also came out from many, crying out, Thou art the Messiah the Son of God. And He rebuked them, and suffered them not to say, that they knew Him to be the Christ.
Imepo chope chikhavahumaavingi vali kulila kwu elimenyu nukhuta, “Uve veve mwana va Nguluve!” UYisu akhadukha imipepo nukuvavula vachove, ulwakhuva valumanyile ukhuta umwene akhala vi Kristi.
42 And when the day was coming on, He went out and retired into a solitary place; and the people sought for Him, and came to Him, and would fain have detained Him, that He might not go from them.
Unsikhi vu khutandalukha, akhaluta ukhuvasikuli na vanu. Ululundamano lwa vanu valikhundonda pwu vakhichaukwu likwo. Vagela ukhukihivula alekhe ukhuluta khutali na vene.
43 But He said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
Pwu akhavavula, “Lasima nilumbilile ilimenyu ilinonu lya vutwa vwa Nguluve mu miji iginge mingi, ulwakhuva khyu mene nisuhivwe apa.”
44 So He went on preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
