< Luke 16 >

1 And He said also to his disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and he was accused to him of wasting his goods.
Jesu naye cha wamba valutwana vakwe, “Kuvena mukwame wa muhumi avena muyendisi wa misevezi yakwe, mi kuva vihiwa kuti muyendisi wa misevezi ya kwe u kwete ku mu sinyeza iluwo lya kwe.
2 And he called him, and said unto him, What is this I hear of thee? give up the accounts of thy stewardship, for thou canst be no longer steward.
Cwale muhumi cha musupa mi chati kwali, 'Zintu nzi zi nizule kuamana niwe? U nihe chakwizula za musevezi wako, ili kuti kese uzwile havusu ni vuyendisi.'
3 And the steward said in himself, What shall I do? now my master takes away the stewardship from me; I am not able to work, and I am ashamed to beg.
Muyendisi cha liwambila, 'chiniswanela kupanga chinzi, hakuva mukulwana choni zwisa musevezi? Ka nina ziho za kusha, mi niswava ku mukumbila.
4 I know what I will do, that when I am turned out of my place, they may receive me into their houses.
Nizi chini swanela ku tenda, ili kuti china zwiswa ha musevezi wangu wa vu yendisi, bantu va ni tambule mu mazuvo avo.
5 So he called his master's debtors to him, and said to the first, How much owest thou to my master? and he said, an hundred baths of oil.
Cwale muyendisi chasupa zumwi ni zumwi ya vaali kukolota si mwin'a kwe, mi cha vuza we ntazi, 'U kolota vukayi simwin'a ngu? 6.
6 And he said to him, Take thy bill, and sit down and write but fifty.
Cha wamba, 'Ni kolota makumi ekumi ya byima bya mafuta e oli.' Mi chati kwali, muhinde zikoloti zenu, mwikale kapili, mi muñole makumi akwana yanza.'
7 Then he said to another, And how much owest thou? and he said, an hundred measures of wheat: and he said to him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
Cwale muyendisi cha wamba ku zumwi, 'mi vukayi yo kolota?' Chati, 'makumi ekumi a vuyima bwa vuroto.' Chati kwali, 'hinde chikoloti mi u ñole makumi akwana yenza ni to tatwe.
8 And his master commended the dishonest steward as having acted prudently: for the men of this world are as to their affairs wiser than the children of light. (aiōn g165)
Simwin'a kwe cha lumba chikombwa chi sa sepahali kakuti ava sevezi mu kusasepahala. Vaana ve fasi ilyi vena ahulu mukusa sepahala chiva kwete kuseveza ni vantu vavo hita vaana vena mu liseli. (aiōn g165)
9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends with these unrighteous treasures, that when they fail, ye may be received into everlasting habitations. (aiōnios g166)
Ni wamba kwenu, mutende valikani che nzila za mashenyi a sa sepahali, kutendela kuti chi bwamana, va woole ku mitambula mu mazuvo asamani. (aiōnios g166)
10 He, that is faithful in the lest, is faithful also in much: and he, that is unjust in the lest, is unjust also in much.
Iye yo sepahala ku zinini mwa sepahale ni ku zikando, mi niya sasepahali mu zinini kasepahali mu zikando.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the false riches, who will intrust you with the true?
Haiva kena u va sepahali ku ku sevelisa mashelenyi a fosahele, nje ni yeta kusepe mu chifumu che niti?
12 and if ye have not been faithful in that which was another's, who will give you that which is your own?
Mi haiva kawini ku sepahala mu kusevelisa mashelinyi a vamwi, njeni ya sa kuhe mashelenyi ako u mwine?
13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or at lest he will be attached to the one, and neglect the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.
Ka kwina muhikana yo wola ku seveleza malena vo vele, kusicwalo mwa toye umwi ni kusaka zumwi, mwa kumalele umwi kapa kunyefula zumwi. Ko woli kuseveleza Ereeza ni chifumu.
14 And the pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things; and derided Him.
Hanu Vafalisi, va vali kusaka hahulu mashelenyi, va va zuwi zoose inzi, mi chi va museka.
15 And He said unto them, Ye justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Mi chati kuvali, “Mu li shiyamisa mu menso a vantu, kono Ireeza wizi ikulo zenu. Zina zivoneka vulotu mumeeso a vantu kwe Reeza zi fosahele.
16 The law and the prophets continued until John: from that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every one presseth into it.
Mulao ni vupolofita ziva kuseveza kuleta Johani hasika. Ku zwa iyo nako, inzwii lya muvuso we Reeza li va kutazwa, mi zumwi ni zumwi ava sa kuhambiliza inzila za vo mwateni.
17 Though it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Kono kuhuva kwiwulu ni hansi zi mane isi kuti intaku imwi ya mulao sanzi ivi ni mutendo.
18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
Yense yo kauhana ni mwanakazi wakwe ni kusesa zumwi u chita vushahi, mi yo sesa mwanakazi ya va kanwa kwa mwihyabwe naye utenda vushahi.
19 Now there was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, living voluptuously and splendidly every day.
Linu ku vena mukwame ya va humite, ya va kuzwete zi zwato ze pulipera ni line mi mazuva onse ava kulikola chifumu cha kwe.
20 And there was a poor man named Lazarus,
Mukumbizi ava kusumpwa Lazaro ava lele hamulyango, avali kwizwile zilavi muvili wonse.
21 who was laid at his gate full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table: and the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass that the poor man died,
Mi avali kuhala kulya vungululwa vu vali kuwa hentafule ya muhumi, mi kuzwaho, vambwa va vali kukomba zilavi zakwe.
22 and was carried by angels to Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried.
Ku vezi kuva kuti mukumbizi chafwa, mi avezi ku hindwa mangeloi ku mutwala kwimbali ya Abrahama. Muhumi naye chafwa mi cha zikwa,
23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
mi mu lyangalilo, na sukulukite, cha kotola menso mi cha vona Abrahama nena vutavule ni Lazaro nena ha chizuva chakwe. (Hadēs g86)
24 And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have pity on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Cha lila mi chati, Tayo Abrahama, uni zuwile kusasama, mi tumine Lazaro, kuti a tompe munwe wakwe mu menzi mi nja tontoze lulimi lwangu, kakuti ni hile maswe mowu mulilo.
25 And Abraham said, Son, remember that thou receivedst thy good things in thy life-time, and likewise Lazarus his evils: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Kono Abrahama chati, 'mwan'a ngu, u hupule kuti muvuhalo bwako uva tambuli zako zilotu, mi Lazaro mwinzila iswana ava ku tavela zintu zivilala, kono hanu cho kwete kusengwa sengwa kunu, mi iwe wina mumanyando.
26 And besides, there is a great gulf fixed between us and you; so that they, who would pass from hence to you, cannot; nor can they pass to us, who would come from thence.
Mi kuzwaho zintu zoose, chigodi chikando chivavi mukati, ili kuti avo vasaka kuluta kuzwa kunu kwiza kwako kese vawole, mi kakwina yese awole kuzwa uko kwiza kwetu.'
27 Then he said, Therefore I intreat thee, Father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house:
Muhumi chati, ni ku kumbila, Tayo Abrahama, kuti umuni tumine kuzuvo ya tayo
28 for I have five brethren; that he may testify to them my misery, least they also come into this place of torment.
kakuti nina vanche vava swisu va tenda yanza - kutendela kuti akava kalimele, kutiya kuti navo chiveza mwe chi chivaka cha masukuluka.'
29 Abraham answered him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them:
Kono Abrahama chati, veena Mushe ni vapolofita; mu vasiye va tekeleze ku vali.'
30 and he said, Nay, father Abraham, but if one went to them from the dead, they will repent.
Muhumi che tava chati, 'Nanta, Tayo Abrahama, kono haiva zumwi na yenda kuvali kuvafwile, mu va lichiule.'
31 And he replied, If they hearken not to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one should rise from the dead.
Kono Abrahama chati kwali, 'Haiba ni vasa tekelezi kwa Mushe ni vapolofita, kese vaole kuzumina ni haiva vafwile kuti va vuke.'”
