< Micah 6 >

1 Listen now to what the LORD says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.

2 Hear, you mountains, the LORD’s indictment, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for the LORD has a case against his people, and he will contend with Israel.
Long ah kacak ohhaih ahmuen katawn, Aw maenawk, Angraeng laisaephaih to tahngai oh; Angraeng loe angmah ih kaminawk nuiah laisaep moe, Israel hoi lok angaekhaih to om tih.
3 My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me!
Kai ih kaminawk, nangcae nuiah ka sak pazaehaih oh maw? Hmuenzit tih maw kang phawh o sak? Ka sethaih to na thui oh.
4 For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
Nangcae to Izip prae thung hoiah kang zaeh moe, tamna ah ohhaih thung hoiah kang loih o sak; nangcae hma ah Mosi, Aaron hoi Miriam to kang patoeh.
5 My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of the LORD.”
Kai ih kaminawk khaeah, Moab siangpahrang Balak mah timaw thuih, Boer capa Baalam mah anih khaeah tih lok maw pathim pae, tito panoek oh; to tiah nahaeloe Shitiim hoi Gilgal khoek to zaehoikung Angraeng toenghaih to na panoek o tih.
6 How shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
Tih hoiah maw Angraeng hmaa ah kang zoh moe, kasang Angraeng hmaa ah ka kuep han? Hmai angbawnhaih sak hanah saningto kaom maitaw caa hoiah maw kang zoh han?
7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Angraeng loe tuu tae sangto, to tiah ai boeh loe situi vapui sang hato paek caedoeh palung anghoe tih maw? Ka sakpazaehaih pongah tapen tangsuek ka caa to ka paek moe, ka hingh zaehaih pongah ka takpum thingthai to ka paek han maw?
8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Aw kami, anih mah kahoih hmuen to ang patuek boeh; katoengah toksakhaih, palungnathaih to awt moe, poek pahnaemhaih hoiah na Sithaw hoi nawnto lam caeh khue ai ah loe, Angraeng mah ang hnik ih kalah hmuen timaw oh vop?
9 The LORD’s voice calls to the city— and wisdom fears your name— “Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.
Angraeng ih lok vangpui thungah amsongh, palungha kami loe na hmin saiqathaih paek tih; thingboeng hoiah nang thuitaekkung ih lok to tahngai ah.
10 Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short efah that is accursed?
Kahoih ai loklam hoi na hak ih hmuenmaenawk hoi panuet thok katoeng ai hmuenzit tahhaih to imthung ah na suek maw?
11 Shall I tolerate dishonest scales, and a bag of deceitful weights?
Katoeng ai tahhaih hoi pasah koiah aling ih hmuenmae suekhaih vangpui to kaciim vangpui ah ka kroek han maw?
12 Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.
Anih ih angraengnawk loe athii palonghaih to koeh o moe, to ah kaom kaminawk loe lok amlai o, palai hoi alinghaih lok to a thuih o.
13 Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins.
Na zae o boeh pongah, kang caeh o taak moe, nganbawh kana kang paek o han.
14 You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your hunger will be within you. You will store up, but not save, and that which you save I will give up to the sword.

15 You will sow, but won’t reap. You will tread the olives, but won’t anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won’t drink the wine.
Na patii tih, toe na aat mak ai; Olive situi na pasaw tih, toe situi to nang nok mak ai; kaluep misurtui to na pasaw tih, toe misurtui to na nae mak ai.
16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of Ahab’s house. You walk in their counsels, that I may make you a ruin, and your inhabitants a hissing. You will bear the reproach of my people.”
