Matthew 9
1 He entered into a boat and crossed over, and came into his own city.
彼は舟に乗って向こう岸に渡り，自分の町に入った。
2 Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Yeshua, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you.”
見よ，人々が彼のもとに，体のまひした人を寝台に横たえたまま運んで来た。イエスは彼らの信仰を見て，体のまひした人に言った，「子よ，元気を出しなさい！ あなたの罪は許されている」 。
3 Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man blasphemes.”
見よ，数人の律法学者たちが心の中で言った，「この男は冒とくしている」。
4 Yeshua, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?
イエスは彼らの考えに気づいて，こう言った。「なぜあなた方は心の中で悪いことを考えているのか。
5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’?
体のまひした人に，『あなたの罪は許されている』と言うのと，『起き上がって歩きなさい』と言うのでは，どちらがたやすいか。
6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins—” (then he said to the paralytic), “Get up, and take up your mat, and go to your house.”
だが，人の子が地上で罪を許す権威を持っていることをあなた方が知るために……」 （それから体のまひした人に言った），「起き上がって，寝床を取り上げて，自分の家に帰りなさい」 。
7 He arose and departed to his house.
その人は起き上がり，自分の家に去って行った。
8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
一方，群衆はそれを見て驚嘆し，このような権威を人に与えた神に栄光をささげた。
9 As Yeshua passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” He got up and followed him.
イエスはそこから進んで行くと，マタイと呼ばれる人が収税所に座っているのを見て，「わたしに従いなさい」 と彼に言った。彼は立ち上がって，イエスに従った。
10 As he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Yeshua and his disciples.
彼の家でイエスが食卓に着いていたときのことである。見よ，大勢の徴税人や罪人がやって来て，イエスや弟子たちと共に座っていた。
11 When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why does your rabbi eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
ファリサイ人たちはこれを見て，彼の弟子たちに言った，「なぜあなた方の教師は，徴税人たちや罪人たちと共に食事をするのか」。
12 When Yeshua heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
イエスはこれを聞いて，彼らに言った，「健康な人たちに医者は必要でなく，病気の人たちに必要なのだ。
13 But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
それで，『わたしはあわれみを望み，犠牲を望まない』とはどういう意味か，行って学んで来なさい。わたしは義人たちではなく，罪人たちを悔い改めへと呼び寄せるために来たのだ」 。
14 Then Yochanan’s disciples came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don’t fast?”
それから，ヨハネの弟子たちが彼のもとに来てこう言った。「わたしたちとファリサイ人たちはたびたび断食するのに，あなたの弟子たちが断食しないのはなぜですか」。
15 Yeshua said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
イエスは彼らに言った，「花婿の友人たちは，花婿が共にいる間は，悲しむことができるだろうか。花婿が共にいるかぎり，彼らは断食できない。だが，花婿が彼らから取り去られる日々が来る。その時には，彼らは断食するだろう。
16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.
縮んでいない布切れを古い衣に当てる人はいない。その継ぎ切れが衣を引き裂き，破れはいっそうひどくなるからだ。
17 Neither do people put new wine into old wine skins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved.”
新しいブドウ酒を古い皮袋に入れる人もいない。そんなことをすれば，皮袋は張り裂け，ブドウ酒はこぼれ出て，皮はだめになるだろう。やはり，人々は新しいブドウ酒を新しい皮袋に入れる。そうすればどちらも保たれるのだ」 。
18 While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
彼らにこれらの事を話している間に，見よ，一人の支配者がやって来て，彼を拝んで言った，「わたしの娘がたった今死んでしまいました。ですが，おいでになって，娘の上にあなたの手を置いてください。そうすれば生き返るでしょう」。
19 Yeshua got up and followed him, as did his disciples.
イエスは立ち上がって彼に付いて行った。弟子たちもそうした。
20 Behold, a woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment;
見よ，十二年間も血の流出をわずらっている女が彼の後ろに近づき，その衣の房べりに触った。
21 for she said within herself, “If I just touch his garment, I will be made well.”
というのは，彼女は，「あの方の衣に触りさえすれば，わたしはよくなるだろう」と心の中で言っていたからである。
22 But Yeshua, turning around and seeing her, said, “Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
しかしイエスは振り向いて，彼女を目にして言った，「娘よ，元気を出しなさい！ あなたの信仰があなたをよくならせた」 。するとその女はその時以来よくされた。
23 When Yeshua came into the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd in noisy disorder,
イエスは支配者の家に入って，笛を吹く者たちやうるさく騒いでいる群衆を目にすると，
24 he said to them, “Make room, because the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” They were ridiculing him.
彼らに言った，「部屋を空けなさい。少女は死んだのではなく，眠っているのだ」 。 人々は彼をばかにした。
25 But when the crowd was sent out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
しかし，群衆が外に出されると，彼は中に入り，彼女の手を取った。すると少女は起き上がった。
26 The report of this went out into all that land.
この知らせはその地方全体に広まった。
27 As Yeshua passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, “Have mercy on us, son of David!”
イエスがそこから進んで行くと，二人の盲人が大声で叫んで，「ダビデの子イエスよ，わたしをあわれんでください！」と言いながら，彼に付いて来た。
28 When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Yeshua said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They told him, “Yes, Lord.”
彼が家の中に入ると，盲人たちはそのもとにやって来た。イエスは彼らに言った，「あなた方はわたしにそれができると信じるか」 。 彼らは彼に言った，「はい，主よ」。
29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”
そこで彼は彼らの目に触り，「あなた方の信仰どおりのことが，あなた方に起こるように」 と言った。
30 Then their eyes were opened. Yeshua strictly commanded them, saying, “See that no one knows about this.”
彼らの目は開かれた。イエスは彼らに厳しく命じて，「だれにもこのことを知られないようにしなさい」 と言った。
31 But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.
しかし彼らは出て行って，その地方全体に彼の評判を言い広めた。
32 As they went out, behold, a mute man who was demon possessed was brought to him.
彼らが出て行くと，見よ，悪霊に取りつかれた口のきけない人が彼のもとに連れて来られた。
33 When the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The multitudes marveled, saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!”
悪霊が追い出されると，口のきけない人はものを言った。群衆は驚いて言った，「イスラエルの中でこのようなことが見られたことは，これまで一度もない！」
34 But the Pharisees said, “By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons.”
しかしファリサイ人たちは言った，「彼は悪霊たちの首領によって悪霊たちを追い出しているのだ」。
35 Yeshua went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
イエスはすべての町や村を歩き回って，その会堂で教え，王国の福音を宣教し，民の中のすべての疾患と病気をいやした。
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.
また群衆を見ると，彼らに対する哀れみに動かされた。彼らが羊飼いのいない羊のように苦しめられ，追い散らされていたからである。
37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
そして彼は弟子たちに言った，「収穫は確かに多いが，働き人が少ない。
38 Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest.”
だから，収穫に働き人を遣わしていただくよう，収穫の主人にお願いしなさい」 。
