Matthew 25
1 “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Dann wird die Himmelsherrschaft gleich sein zehn Jungfrauen, welche ihre Lampen nahmen, und gingen aus, dem Bräutigam entgegenzugehen.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
Aber fünf von ihnen waren klug, und fünf töricht.
3 Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,
Die töricht waren, nahmen ihre Lampen, aber sie nahmen nicht Öl mit sich.
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Die klugen aber nahmen Öl in ihren Gefäßen, samt ihren Lampen.
5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
Als aber der Bräutigam verzog, wurden sie alle schläfrig und schliefen ein.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
Um Mitternacht aber ward ein Geschrei: Siehe, der Bräutigam! Gehet aus, ihm zu begegnen!
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Da stunden alle diese Jungfrauen auf, und schmückten ihre Lampen.
8 The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
Die törichten aber sprachen zu den klugen: Gebt uns von euerm Öl, denn unsere Lampen verlöschen.
9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
Die klugen aber antworteten, und sprachen: Niemals! denn es würde ja nicht reichen für und euch; gehet lieber zu den Krämern, und kaufet euch!
10 While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.
Als sie aber hingingen zu kaufen, kam der Bräutigam; und die bereit waren, gingen mit ihm ein zur Hochzeit; und die Tür ward verschlossen. -
11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’
Zuletzt kamen auch die übrigen Jungfrauen und sagten: Herr, Herr, tue uns auf!
12 But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
Er aber antwortete, und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, ich kenne euch nicht.
13 Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
Darum wachet, denn ihr wisset nicht den Tag, noch die Stunde.
14 “For it is like a man going into another country, who called his own servants and entrusted his goods to them.
Denn gleichwie ein Mensch, der über Land zog, und rief seine Haussklaven, und übergab ihnen seine Güter;
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.
Und einem gab er fünf Talente, einem andern zwei, einem dritten eins, einem jeden nach seiner Kraft, und zog alsbald fort.
16 Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
Da ging hin, der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, arbeitete mit ihnen, und Gewann andere fünf Talente.
17 In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.
Desgleichen auch der mit den zweien; und auch er gewann zwei andere.
18 But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.
Der aber das eine empfangen hatte, ging hin, grub ein Loch in die Erde, und versteckte das Geld seines Herrn. -
19 “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.
Nach langer Zeit kommt der Herr jener Knechte und forderte Rechenschaft von ihnen.
20 He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’
Und der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, kam, brachte herbei fünf andere Talente, und sprach: Herr, fünf Talente hast du mir gegeben; siehe ich habe fünf andere Talente mit ihnen gewonnen.
21 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Da sprach sein Herr zu ihm: Recht so! guter und getreuer Knecht! über Wenigem bist du getreu gewesen, ich will dich über Vieles setzen. Gehe ein zur Freude deines Herrn. -
22 “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’
Da kam auch der die zwei Talente empfangen hatte, herbei, und sprach: Herr, zwei Talente hast du mir übergeben, siehe, andere zwei Talente habe ich mit ihnen gewonnen.
23 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Da sprach sein Herr zu ihm: Recht so! guter und getreuer Knecht! über Wenigem warst du getreu, über Vieles will ich dich setzen; gehe ein zur Freude deines Herrn. -
24 “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.
Da kam auch, der das eine Talent empfangen hatte, herbei, und sprach: Herr, ich habe dich gekannt, daß du ein harter Mensch bist, daß du erntest, wo du nicht gesäet hast, und einsammelst, wo du nicht ausgestreut hast.
25 I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’
Und da ich mich fürchtete, so ging ich hin, und versteckte dein Talent in der Erde; siehe, da hast du das deine!
26 “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.
Sein Herr aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Du böser und fauler Knecht! wußtest du, daß ich ernte, wo ich nicht gesäet habe, und einsammle, wo ich nicht ausgestreut habe?
27 You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
So mußtest du mein Geld den Wechslern geben, und wenn ich gekommen wäre, hätte ich das Meinige mit Zinsen zurückgenommen.
28 Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
So nehmet nun das Talent von ihm und gebet es dem, der die zehn Talente hat!
29 For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.
Denn jedem, der da hat, wird gegeben werden, und wird Überfluß haben, aber von dem, der nichts hat, wird auch das er hat, weggenommen werden.
30 Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Und den unnützen Knecht werfet hinaus in die Finsternis draußen, daselbst wird sein heulen und Zähneknirschen.
31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.
Wann aber der Menschensohn komm in seiner Herrlichkeit, und alle Engel mit ihm, dann wird er sitzen auf dem Throne seiner Herrlichkeit,
32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Und es werden vor ihm versammelt werden alle Heiden und er wird sie scheiden von einander, gleichwie der Hirte die Schafe von den Ziegen scheidet,
33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Und er wird die Schafe zu seiner Rechten stellen, die Ziegen aber zur Linken.
34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
Dann wird der König sagen zu denen zu seiner Rechten: Kommt, Gesegnete meines Vaters, ererbet die Königsherrschaft, die euch bereitet ist, von Grundlegung der Welt an.
35 for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.
Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr gabt mir zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr habt mir zu trinken gegeben; fremd war ich, und ihr habt mich aufgenommen;
36 I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’
Nackt war ich, und ihr habt mich bekleidet; krank, und ihr habt nach mir gesehen; im Gefängnis, und ihr kamet zu mir. -
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?
Alsdann werden ihm die Gerechten antworten, und sagen: Herr, wann haben wir dich hungrig gesehen, und haben dich gespeist? oder durstig, und haben dir zu trinken gegeben?
38 When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
Wann haben wir dich fremd gesehen, und haben dich aufgenommen, oder nacht, und haben dich bekleidet?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
Und wann haben wir dich krank oder im Gefängnis gesehen, und sind zu dir gekommen? -
40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Und der König wird antworten, und zu ihnen sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: sofern ihr es getan habt an einem dieser meiner geringsten Brüder, habt ihr es mir getan.
41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; (aiōnios g166)
Dann wird er sagen auch denen zur Linken: Weichet von mir, ihr Verfluchte! in das künftige Feuer, das bereitet ist dem Teufel und seinen Engeln. (aiōnios g166)
42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;
Denn ich war hungrig, und ihr gabet mir nicht zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr habt mir nicht zu trinken gegeben;
43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
Ich war fremd, und ihr habt mich nicht aufgenommen; nackt, und ihr habt mich nicht bekleidet; krank und im Gefängnis, und ihr habt nicht nach mir gesehen. -
44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’
Dann werden auch sie antworten und sagen: Herr, wann haben wir dich hungrig, oder durstig, oder fremd, oder nackt, oder im Gefängnis gesehen, und haben dir nicht gedient?
45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’
Dann wird er ihnen antworten, und sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, sofern ihr es nicht getan habt einem dieser Geringsten, habt ihr es mir auch nicht getan.
