Matthew 12
1 At that time, Yeshua went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
En ce temps-là, Jésus passait par les blés, le jour du sabbat, et ses disciples, qui avaient faim, se mirent à arracher des épis et à les manger.
2 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”
Les pharisiens, voyant cela, lui dirent: «Tes disciples font une chose qu'il n'est pas permis de faire un jour de sabbat.»
3 But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:
Mais Jésus leur dit: «n’avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David, lorsque lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui eurent faim:
4 how he entered into God’s house and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, et mangea les pains de proposition, ce qu'il ne lui était pas permis de manger, non plus qu'à ceux qui l'accompagnaient, mais aux sacrificateurs seuls.
5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?
Ou bien n’avez-vous pas lu dans la Loi que, le jour du sabbat, les sacrificateurs profanent le sabbat dans le temple, sans être coupables pour cela.
6 But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
Or, je vous dis qu'il y a ici plus que le temple.
7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.
Si vous saviez ce que signifie cette parole: «Je veux la miséricorde et non le sacrifice, »; vous n'auriez pas condamné des innocents;
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
car le Fils de l'homme est maître du sabbat.»
9 He departed from there and went into their synagogue.
Jésus, ayant quitté ce lieu, entra dans la synagogue.
10 And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” so that they might accuse him.
Il s'y trouvait un homme qui avait la main sèche, et l’on demanda à Jésus s'il était permis de guérir, le jour du sabbat: c'était afin de l'accuser.
11 He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out?
Jésus leur dit: «Quel est celui d'entre vous, qui, n'ayant qu'une brebis, si elle vient à tomber, un jour de sabbat, dans une fosse, ne la prend et ne l'en retire?
12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”
Combien un homme ne vaut-il pas mieux qu'une brebis! Ainsi, il est permis de bien faire le jour du sabbat.»
13 Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.
Alors il dit à l'homme: «Etends la main.» Il retendit, et elle redevint saine comme l'autre.
14 But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
Les pharisiens sortirent et tinrent conseil contre lui, sur les moyens de le faire périr;
15 Yeshua, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,
mais Jésus, en ayant eu connaissance, s'éloigna de ces lieux. Une grande foule le suivit, et il guérit tous leurs malades;
16 and commanded them that they should not make him known,
et il leur commanda sévèrement de ne pas le faire connaître,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
afin que s'accomplît ce qui a été dit par Ésaïe, le prophète:
18 “Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.
«Voici le serviteur que je me suis choisi, le bien-aimé, en qui j'ai mis toute mon affection. Je lui donnerai mon Esprit, et il annoncera la justice aux nations.
19 He will not strive, nor shout, neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
Il ne contestera point, il ne criera point, on n'entendra pas sa voix dans les places publiques;
20 He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.
il n'achèvera point de briser le roseau froissé, et il n'éteindra point le lumignon qui fume encore, jusqu’à ce qu'il ait fait triompher la justice.
21 In his name, the nations will hope.”
Et les nations mettront leur espérance en son nom.»
22 Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
Alors on lui amena un démoniaque aveugle et sourd-muet, et il le guérit; de sorte que le muet parlait et voyait.
23 All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”
Toute la foule était ravie en admiration, et disait: «N'est-ce point là le Fils de David?»
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Les pharisiens entendant cette parole, dirent: «Il ne chasse les démons que par Belzébuth, prince des démons.»
25 Knowing their thoughts, Yeshua said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Jésus connaissant, leurs pensées, leur dit: «Tout royaume en proie aux divisions se détruit, et toute ville ou maison en proie aux divisions ne subsistera point.
26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Si Satan chasse Satan, il est divisé; comment donc son royaume subsistera-il?
27 If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Et si moi, je chasse les démons par Belzébuth, par qui vos fils les chassent-ils? C'est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges.
28 But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.
Mais, si je chasse les démons par l’Esprit de Dieu, le royaume de Dieu est donc venu vers vous.
29 Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
Et comment peut-on entrer dans la maison de l'homme fort et piller ses biens, si l’on n'a auparavant lié cet homme fort, après quoi on pillera sa maison.
30 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.
Qui n'est pas avec moi, est contre moi; et qui n'assemble pas avec moi, disperse.
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
C'est pourquoi je vous dis que tout péché et tout blasphème seront pardonnés aux hommes; mais le blasphème contre l'Esprit ne leur sera point pardonné.
32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come. (aiōn g165)
A celui qui aura parlé contre le Fils de l'homme, on le lui pardonnera; mais à celui qui aura parlé contre le Saint-Esprit, on ne le lui pardonnera ni dans ce temps-ci, ni dans le siècle à venir. (aiōn g165)
33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
Ou dites que l'arbre est bon et que son fruit est bon, ou dites que l'arbre est mauvais et que son fruit est mauvais; car c'est au fruit qu'on connaît l'arbre.
34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Race de vipères, comment pouvez-vous dire de bonnes choses, méchants comme vous l'êtes? car de l'abondance du coeur la bouche parle.
35 The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.
L'homme de bien tire de bonnes choses de son bon trésor, et le méchant tire de mauvaises choses de son mauvais trésor.
36 I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Je vous déclare qu'au jour du jugement les hommes rendront compte de toute parole mauvaise qu'ils auront dite;
37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
car par vos paroles vous serez justifiés, et par vos paroles vous serez condamnés.»
38 Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Rabbi, we want to see a sign from you.”
Alors des scribes et des pharisiens prirent la parole, et lui dirent: «Maître, nous voudrions te voir faire un miracle?»
39 But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Mais Jésus leur répondit: «Cette génération méchante et adultère, réclame un miracle; eh bien! il ne lui en sera point accordé d'autre que celui de Jonas, le prophète:
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
de même que Jonas passa trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre d'un grand poisson, ainsi le Fils de l'homme passera trois jours et trois nuits dans le sein de la terre.
41 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
Les Ninivites se lèveront au jour du jugement avec cette génération, et la condamneront; car ils se repentirent à la prédication de Jonas, et il y a ici plus que Jonas.
42 The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.
La reine du Midi se lèvera au jour du jugement avec cette génération, et la condamnera; car elle vint du bout du monde pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon: et il y a ici plus que Salomon.»
43 “When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.
«Quand l'esprit impur est sorti d'un homme, il va par les lieux arides, cherchant du repos, et il n'en trouve point.
44 Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Alors il se dit: «Je vais retourner dans la maison d'où je suis sorti; il revient et la trouve vacante, balayée et mise en ordre.
45 Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”
Alors il va prendre avec lui sept autres esprits plus méchants que lui, puis ils y entrent et s'y établissent; et la dernière condition de cet homme est pire que la première. Il en sera de même de cette méchante génération.
46 While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
Pendant qu'il parlait encore à la foule, sa mère et ses frères étaient dehors, qui cherchaient à lui parler.
47 One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
On lui dit: «Ta mère et tes frères sont là dehors, et ils cherchent à te parler.»
48 But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
Mais Jésus répondit à celui qui le lui disait: «Qui est ma mère, et qui sont mes frères?
49 He stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
Puis, étendant la main sur ses disciples, il dit: «Voici ma mère et mes frères,
50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
car celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les deux, celui-là est mon frère, et ma soeur, et ma mère.»
