Acts 13
1 Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
Había entonces en la iglesia, que estaba en Antioquía, profetas y doctores, como Barnabás, y Simón el que se llamaba Níger, y Lucio Cireneo, y Manaén, hermano de leche de Heródes el tetrarca, y Saulo.
2 As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”
Ministrando pues estos al Señor, y ayunando, dijo el Espíritu Santo: Apartádme a Barnabás y a Saulo para la obra para la cual los he llamado.
3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Entonces ayunando y orando, y poniéndoles las manos encima, los enviaron.
4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus.
Así que ellos, enviados por el Espíritu Santo, descendieron a Seleucia; y de allí navegaron a Chipre.
5 When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed God’s word in the Jewish synagogues. They also had Yochanan as their attendant.
Y llegados a Salamina, anunciaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los Judíos; y tenían también a Juan por asistente.
6 When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Yeshua,
Y habiendo atravesado la isla hasta Pafo, hallaron a cierto hechicero, falso profeta, Judío, llamado Bar-jesús:
7 who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.
El cual estaba con el procónsul Sergio Paulo, varón prudente. Este, llamando a Barnabás y a Saulo, deseaba oír la palabra de Dios.
8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
Mas les resistía Elimás el hechicero, (que así se interpreta su nombre, ) procurando de apartar de la fe al procónsul.
9 But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him
Entonces Saulo, que también se llama Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, poniendo en él los ojos,
10 and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Dijo: Oh, lleno de todo engaño y de toda maldad, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia, ¿no cesarás de trastornar los caminos rectos del Señor?
11 Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
Ahora, pues, he aquí, la mano del Señor es sobre ti, y serás ciego, que no veas el sol por un tiempo. Y luego cayó en él oscuridad y tinieblas; y andando al derredor buscaba quien le condujese por la mano.
12 Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
Entonces el procónsul, viendo lo que había sido hecho, creyó, maravillado de la doctrina del Señor.
13 Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. Yochanan departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.
Y partidos de Pafo, Pablo, y los que estaban con él, vinieron a Perges de Pamfilia: entonces Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió a Jerusalem.
14 But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.
Y ellos pasando de Perges, vinieron a Antioquía de Pisidia; y entrando en la sinagoga un día de sábado, se asentaron.
15 After the reading of the Torah and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”
Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron a ellos, diciendo: Varones y hermanos, si hay en vosotros alguna palabra de exhortación para el pueblo, hablád.
16 Paul stood up, and gesturing with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.
Entonces Pablo, levantándose, hecha señal de silencio con la mano, dijo: Varones Israelitas, y los que teméis a Dios, escuchád.
17 The God of this people chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them out of it.
El Dios de este pueblo de Israel escogió a nuestros padres, y ensalzó el pueblo, siendo ellos extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto, y con brazo levantado los sacó de ella.
18 For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.
Y por espacio como de cuarenta años soportó sus costumbres en el desierto.
19 When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance for about four hundred fifty years.
Y destruyendo las siete naciones en la tierra de Canaán, les repartió por suerte la tierra de ellas.
20 After these things, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.
Y después de esto les dio jueces como por cuatrocientos y cincuenta años, hasta el profeta Samuel.
21 Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
Y entonces demandaron rey; y les dio Dios a Saul, hijo de Cis, varón de la tribu de Benjamín, por cuarenta años.
22 When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
Y quitado aquel, les levantó a David por rey, al cual dio testimonio, diciendo: He hallado a David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme a mi corazón, el cual hará todas mis voluntades.
23 From this man’s offspring, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,
De la simiente de éste, Dios, conforme a su promesa, ha levantado para Israel un Salvador, Jesús;
24 before his coming, when Yochanan had first preached the immersion of repentance to Israel.
Predicando Juan antes de su venida el bautismo de arrepentimiento a todo el pueblo de Israel.
25 As Yochanan was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
Mas como Juan cumpliese su carrera, dijo: ¿Quién pensáis que soy yo? Yo no soy él; mas, he aquí, viene en pos de mí uno, cuyos zapatos de los pies no soy yo digno de desatar.
26 “Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.
Varones y hermanos, hijos del linaje de Abraham, y los que de entre vosotros temen a Dios, a vosotros es enviada la palabra de esta salvación.
27 For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.
Porque los que habitaban en Jerusalem, y sus príncipes, no conociendo a éste, ni a las voces de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados, condenándo le las cumplieron.
28 Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.
Y sin hallar en él causa de muerte, pidieron a Pilato que fuese muerto.
29 When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.
Y habiendo cumplido todas las cosas que de él eran escritas, quitándo le del madero, le pusieron en un sepulcro.
30 But God raised him from the dead,
Mas Dios le levantó de entre los muertos.
31 and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
El cual fue visto por muchos días de los que habían subido juntamente con él de Galilea a Jerusalem, los cuales son sus testigos ante el pueblo.
32 We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,
Y nosotros os anunciamos la buena nueva de aquella promesa que fue hecha a los padres,
33 that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Yeshua. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’
La cual Dios ha cumplido a nosotros, los hijos de ellos, resucitando a Jesús: como también en el Salmo segundo está escrito: Mi hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy.
34 “Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’
Y que le levantó de los muertos para nunca más volver a corrupción, dijo así: Os daré las misericordias fieles prometidas a David.
35 Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’
Por tanto en otro Salmo dice también: No permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.
36 For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.
Porque a la verdad David, habiendo servido en su edad a la voluntad de Dios, durmió, y fue juntado con sus padres, y vio corrupción.
37 But he whom God raised up saw no decay.
Mas aquel que Dios levantó, no vio corrupción.
38 Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;
Séaos pues notorio, varones y hermanos, que por éste os es anunciada remisión de pecados;
39 and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Torah of Moses.
Y de todo lo que por la ley de Moisés no pudisteis ser justificados, en éste es justificado todo aquel que creyere.
40 Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the Prophets:
Mirád pues que no venga sobre vosotros lo que está dicho en los profetas:
41 ‘Behold, you scoffers! Wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”
Mirád, menospreciadores, y maravilláos, y desvanecéos; porque yo obro obra en vuestros días, obra que no la creeréis aunque alguien os la contare.
42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
Y salidos los Judíos de la sinagoga, los Gentiles les rogaron, que el sábado siguiente se les hablasen estas palabras.
43 Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.
Y despedida la congregación, muchos de los Judíos, y de los prosélitos religiosos siguieron a Pablo y a Barnabás: los cuales hablándoles, les persuadían que permaneciesen en la gracia de Dios.
44 The next Sabbath, almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
Y el sábado siguiente se juntó casi toda la ciudad a oír la palabra de Dios.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.
Entonces los Judíos, vistas las multitudes, fueron llenos de envidia, y contradecían a lo que Pablo decía, contradiciendo y blasfemando.
46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
Entonces Pablo y Barnabás, usando de libertad, dijeron, A vosotros a la verdad era menester que se os hablase primero la palabra de Dios; mas, pues que la desecháis, y os juzgáis indignos de la vida eterna, he aquí, nos volvemos a los Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”
Porque así nos lo mandó el Señor, diciendo: Te he puesto por luz de los Gentiles, para que seas por salvación hasta lo postrero de la tierra.
48 As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed. (aiōnios g166)
Y los Gentiles oyendo esto, fueron gozosos, y glorificaban la palabra del Señor; y creyeron cuantos estaban ordenados para vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
49 The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.
Y la palabra del Señor fue sembrada por toda aquella región.
50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.
Mas los Judíos concitaron a las mujeres devotas y nobles, y a los principales de la ciudad, y levantaron persecución contra Pablo y Barnabás, a los cuales echaron de sus términos.
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
Ellos entonces sacudiendo contra ellos el polvo de sus pies, se vinieron a Iconio.
52 The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Y los discípulos fueron llenos de gozo, y del Espíritu Santo.
