1 Yochanan 5
1 Whoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.
イエスがキリストであることを信じる者はだれでも，神から生まれた者です。父を愛している者はだれでも，その者から生まれた子供をも愛しています。
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.
わたしたちが神を愛し，そのおきてを守っているなら，これによってわたしたちは，自分が神の子らを愛していることを知ります。
3 For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
というのは，わたしたちがそのおきてを守ること，これが神への愛だからです。そのおきてはつらいものではありません。
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.
神から生まれたものはみな，世に打ち勝ちます。世に打ち勝ったその勝利，それはすなわち，あなた方の信仰のことです。
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is the Son of God?
世に打ち勝った者とは，イエスが神の子であることを信じる者以外のだれでしょう。
6 This is he who came by water and blood, Yeshua the Messiah; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
この方こそ水と血によって来られた方，イエス・キリストです。水だけではなく，水と血とをもって来られたのです。証言するのは霊です。霊は真理だからです。
7 For there are three who testify:
証言する者が三人います。すなわち
8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
霊，水，血であり，三者は一致しています。
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.
人の証言を受け入れるとしても，神の証言のほうが偉大です。その方がご自分のみ子に関して証言されたこと，それが神の証言だからです。
10 He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
神のみ子を信じる者は自分の内にこの証言を持っています。神を信じない者は，その方を偽り者としています。神がご自分のみ子に関して与えられた証言を信じなかったからです。
11 The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
その証言とは，神がわたしたちに永遠の命を与えられたこと，そして，この命がそのみ子の内にあるということです。 (aiōnios g166)
12 He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.
み子を持っている者はその命を持っています。神のみ子を持っていない者はその命を持っていません。
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
わたしがこれらの事を，神のみ子の名を信じているあなた方に書き送ったのは，自分たちが永遠の命を持っていることをあなた方が知るようにするため，また，神のみ子の名を信じ続けるようにするためです。 (aiōnios g166)
14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
もしわたしたちがその方のご意志に従って何かを求めるなら，その方はわたしたちに耳を傾けてくださるということ，これがわたしたちがその方に対して抱いている大胆さです。
15 And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
そして，自分たちの求めることは何でもその方が耳を傾けてくださることをわたしたちが知っているのであれば，自分たちがその方に求めたその請願をわたしたちがすでに受けていることも知っているのです。
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.
もしだれかが，死に至らない罪を犯している自分の兄弟を見るなら，その人は求めなさい。そうすれば神はその人に，死に至らない罪を犯す者のために命を与えられるでしょう。死に至る罪があります。これについては，わたしは願うようにとは言いません。
17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.
不義はすべて罪です。しかし，死に至らない罪もあります。
18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.
わたしたちは，すべて神から生まれた者は罪を犯すことがなく，むしろ神から生まれた方がその人を守ってくださり，悪い者はその人に触れることがないことを知っています。
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
わたしたちは自分が神に属しており，全世界が悪い者の力のうちに置かれていることを知っています。
20 We know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Yeshua the Messiah. This is the true God and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
わたしたちは，神のみ子が来て，わたしたちが真実な方を知るための理解力を与えてくださったことを知っています。そして，わたしたちは真実な方の内に，その方のみ子イエス・キリストの内にいます。この方こそ真実の神，また永遠の命です。 (aiōnios g166)
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
小さな子供たちよ，偶像から身を守りなさい。
