Zechariah 7
1 In the fourth year of King Darius, the LORD’s word came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, the month of Chislev.
ダリヨス王の四年の九月すなはちキスリウといふ月の四日にヱホバの言ゼカリヤに臨めり
2 The people of Bethel sent Sharezer and Regem Melech and their men to entreat the LORD’s favour,
ベテルかの時シヤレゼル、レゲンメレクおよびその從者を遣してヱホバを和めさせ
3 and to speak to the priests of the house of the LORD of Hosts and to the prophets, saying, “Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?”
かつ萬軍のヱホバの室にをる祭司に問しめ且豫言者に問しめて言けらく我今まで年久しく爲きたりしごとく尚五月をもて哭きかつ齋戒すべきやと
4 Then the word of the LORD of Hosts came to me, saying,
ここにおいて萬軍のヱホバの言我に臨めり云く
5 “Speak to all the people of the land and to the priests, saying, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month for these seventy years, did you at all fast to me, really to me?
國の諸民および祭司に告て言へ汝らは七十年のあひだ五月と七月とに斷食しかつ哀哭せしがその斷食せし時果して我にむかひて斷食せしや
6 When you eat and when you drink, don’t you eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves?
汝ら食ひかつ飮は全く己のために食ひ己のために飮ならずや
7 Aren’t these the words which the LORD proclaimed by the former prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and its cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”
在昔ヱルサレムおよび周圍の邑々人の住ふありて平安なりし時南の地および平野にも人の住ひをりし時に已往の預言者によりてヱホバの宣ひたりし言を汝ら知ざるや
8 The LORD’s word came to Zechariah, saying,
ヱホバの言ゼカリヤに臨めり云く
9 “Thus has the LORD of Hosts spoken, saying, ‘Execute true judgement, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.
萬軍のヱホバかく宣へり云く正義き審判を行ひ互に相愛しみ相憐め
10 Don’t oppress the widow, the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.’
寡婦孤兒旅客および貧者を虐ぐるなかれ人を害せんと心に圖る勿れと
11 But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear.
然るに彼等は肯て耳を傾けず背を向け耳を鈍くして聽ず
12 Yes, they made their hearts as hard as flint, lest they might hear the law and the words which the LORD of Hosts had sent by his Spirit by the former prophets. Therefore great wrath came from the LORD of Hosts.
且その心を金剛石のごとくし萬軍のヱホバがその御霊をもて已往の預言者に由て傳へたまひし律法と言詞に聽したがはざりき是をもて大なる怒萬軍のヱホバより出て臨めり
13 It has come to pass that, as he called and they refused to listen, so they will call and I will not listen,” said the LORD of Hosts;
彼かく呼はりたれども彼等聽ざりき其ごとく彼ら呼はるとも我聽じ萬軍のヱホバこれを言ふ
14 “but I will scatter them with a whirlwind amongst all the nations which they have not known. Thus the land was desolate after them, so that no man passed through nor returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.”
我かれらをその識ざる諸の國に吹散すべし其後にてこの地は荒て往來する者なきに至らん彼等かく美しき國を荒地となす
