Psalms 7
1 A meditation by David, which he sang to the LORD, concerning the words of Cush, the Benjamite. LORD, my God, I take refuge in you. Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
Hymne lyrique de David, qu'il chanta en l'honneur de l'Éternel, au sujet de Cus, le Benjamite. O Éternel, mon Dieu, je cherche en toi mon refuge; Sauve-moi de tous ceux qui me poursuivent, et délivre-moi;
2 lest they tear apart my soul like a lion, ripping it in pieces, while there is no one to deliver.
De peur que l'ennemi ne me déchire comme un lion Et ne me mette en pièces sans que personne me délivre!
3 LORD, my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,
Éternel, mon Dieu, si je suis coupable, Si mes mains ont commis l'iniquité,
4 if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me (yes, I have plundered him who without cause was my adversary),
Si j'ai fait du mal à celui qui était en paix avec moi, Si même j'ai dépouillé celui qui m'opprimait sans motif,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; yes, let him tread my life down to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. (Selah)
Que l'ennemi me poursuive et m'atteigne; Qu'il foule aux pieds ma vie, Et couche ma gloire dans la poussière! (Pause)
6 Arise, LORD, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgement.
Lève-toi, ô Éternel, dans ta colère! Élève-toi contre les fureurs de ceux qui m'oppriment; Réveille-toi! Viens à moi! Déjà, tu as préparé le jugement!
7 Let the congregation of the peoples surround you. Rule over them on high.
L'assemblée des peuples t'environne; Reprends ta place au-dessus d'elle dans les lieux très hauts!
8 The LORD administers judgement to the peoples. Judge me, LORD, according to my righteousness, and to my integrity that is in me.
L'Éternel juge les peuples! Rends-moi justice, ô Éternel, Selon mon droit, selon mon intégrité.
9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.
Que la malice des méchants prenne fin! Mais affermis le juste. Toi qui sondes les coeurs et les reins, ô Dieu juste!
10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
Dieu est mon bouclier; Il sauve ceux qui ont le coeur droit.
11 God is a righteous judge, yes, a God who has indignation every day.
Dieu est un juste juge. Un Dieu fort qui fait sentir sa colère en tout temps.
12 If a man doesn’t repent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.
Si le méchant ne se convertit pas. Dieu aiguise son épée; Il bande son arc, et il le tient prêt.
13 He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death. He makes ready his flaming arrows.
Il prépare contre lui des armes mortelles; Il apprête des flèches enflammées.
14 Behold, he travails with iniquity. Yes, he has conceived mischief, and brought out falsehood.
Voici que le méchant est en travail pour enfanter le crime; Il a conçu l'iniquité, et il enfante le mensonge.
15 He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made.
Il a creusé un trou profond; Mais il tombera dans la fosse qu'il a préparée.
16 The trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.
Sa malice retournera sur sa tête; Sa violence retombera sur son front.
17 I will give thanks to the LORD according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
Je glorifierai l'Éternel à cause de sa justice; Je chanterai le nom de l'Éternel, le nom du Très-Haut.
