Psalms 2
1 Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
Pourquoi les nations s'agitent-elles en tumulte et les peuples méditent-ils de vains projets?
2 The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed, saying,
Les rois de la terre se soulèvent, et les princes tiennent conseil ensemble, contre Yahweh et contre son Oint.
3 “Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
" Brisons leurs liens, disent-ils, et jetons loin de nous leurs chaînes! "
4 He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.
Celui qui est assis dans les cieux sourit, le Seigneur se moque d'eux.
5 Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:
Alors il leur parlera dans sa colère, et dans sa fureur il les épouvantera:
6 “Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”
" Et moi, j'ai établi mon roi, sur Sion, ma montagne sainte. "
7 I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.
" Je publierai le décret: Yahweh m'a dit: Tu es mon Fils, je t'ai engendré aujourd'hui.
8 Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
Demande, et je te donnerai les nations pour héritage, pour domaine les extrémités de la terre.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
Tu les briseras avec un sceptre de fer, tu les mettras en pièces comme le vase du potier. "
10 Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Et maintenant, rois, devenez sages; recevez l'avertissement, juges de la terre.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Servez Yahweh avec crainte, tressaillez de joie avec tremblement.
12 Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
Baisez le Fils, de peur qu'il ne s'irrite et que vous ne périssiez dans votre voie; Car bientôt s'allumerait sa colère; heureux tous ceux qui mettent en lui leur confiance.
