Proverbs 31
1 The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
| سخنان الهام بخش مادر لموئیلِ پادشاه به او: |
2 “Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
| ای پسر من، ای پسری که تو را در جواب دعاهایم یافته‌ام، |
3 Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
| نیروی جوانی خود را صرف زنان نکن، زیرا آنها باعث نابودی پادشاهان شده‌اند. |
4 It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
| ای لموئیل، شایستهٔ پادشاهان نیست که میگساری کنند، |
5 lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
| چون ممکن است قوانین را فراموش کرده نتوانند به داد مظلومان برسند. |
6 Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
| شراب را به کسانی بده که در انتظار مرگند و به اشخاصی که دلتنگ و تلخکام هستند، |
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
| تا بنوشند و فقر و بدبختی خود را فراموش کنند. |
8 Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
| دهان خود را باز کن و از حق کسانی که بی‌زبان و بی‌چاره‌اند دفاع کن. |
9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
| دهان خود را باز کن و به انصاف داوری نما و به داد فقیران و محتاجان برس. |
10 Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
| زن خوب را چه کسی می‌تواند پیدا کند؟ ارزش او از جواهر هم بیشتر است! |
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
| او مورد اعتماد شوهرش می‌باشد و نمی‌گذارد شوهرش به چیزی محتاج شود. |
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
| در تمام روزهای زندگی به شوهرش خوبی خواهد کرد، نه بدی. |
13 She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
| پشم و کتان می‌گیرد و با دستهای خود آنها را می‌ریسد. |
14 She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
| او برای تهیه خوراک، مانند کشتیهای بازرگانان به راههای دور می‌رود. |
15 She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
| قبل از روشن شدن هوا، بیدار می‌شود و برای خانواده‌اش خوراک آماده می‌کند و دستورهای لازم را به کنیزانش می‌دهد. |
16 She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
| مزرعه‌ای را در نظر می‌گیرد و پس از بررسیهای لازم آن را می‌خرد و با دسترنج خود تاکستان ایجاد می‌کند. |
17 She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
| او قوی و پرکار است. |
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
| به امور خرید و فروش رسیدگی می‌نماید و شبها تا دیر وقت در خانه کار می‌کند. |
19 She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
| با دستهای خود نخ می‌ریسد و پارچه می‌بافد. |
20 She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
| او دست و دل باز است و به فقرا کمک می‌کند. |
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
| از برف و سرما باکی ندارد، چون برای تمام اهل خانه‌اش لباس گرم بافته است. |
22 She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
| برای خود نیز لباسهای زیبا از پارچه‌های نفیس می‌دوزد. |
23 Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits amongst the elders of the land.
| او لباس و کمربند تهیه می‌کند و به تاجرها می‌فروشد. شوهر چنین زنی در میان بزرگان شهر مورد احترام خواهد بود. |
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
| او زنی است قوی و باوقار و از آینده نمی‌ترسد. |
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
| سخنانش پر از حکمت و نصایحش محبت‌آمیز است. |
27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
| او تنبلی نمی‌کند، بلکه به احتیاجات خانواده‌اش رسیدگی می‌نماید. |
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
| فرزندانش او را می‌ستایند و شوهرش از او تمجید نموده، می‌گوید: |
29 “Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
| «تو در میان تمام زنانِ خوب، بی‌نظیر هستی!» |
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
| زیبایی فریبنده و ناپایدار است، اما زنی که خداترس باشد قابل ستایش است. |
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
| پاداش کارهایش را به او بدهید و بگذارید همه او را تحسین کنند. |
