< Numbers 22 >

1 The children of Israel travelled, and encamped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho.
Intultuloy dagiti Israelita ti nagdaliasat agingga a nagkampoda kadagiti patad a lugar ti Moab nga asideg iti Jerico, iti ballasiw ti Karayan Jordan manipud iti siudad.
2 Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.
Nakita ni Balak nga anak ni Sefor ti amin nga inaramid dagiti Israelita kadagiti Amorreo.
3 Moab was very afraid of the people, because they were many. Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.
Kasta unay ti buteng ti Moab kadagiti tattao gapu ta aduda, ken nagamak ti Moab kadagiti Israelita.
4 Moab said to the elders of Midian, “Now this multitude will lick up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field.” Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.
Kinuna ti ari ti Moab kadagiti panglakayen iti Midianita, “Kanento dagitoy a bunggoy ti amin nga adda iti aglawlawtayo kas panagarab ti baka iti ruroot iti talon.” Ita, ni Balak nga anak ni Sefor ket isu ti ari ti Moab iti dayta a tiempo.
5 He sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, “Behold, there is a people who came out of Egypt. Behold, they cover the surface of the earth, and they are staying opposite me.
Nangibaon ni Balak kadagiti mensahero kenni Balaam nga anak ni Beor, idiay Petor nga asideg iti Karayan Eufrates, iti daga ti nasionna ken tattaona. Inayabanna ni Balaam ket kinunana, “Kitaem, ummay ditoy ti maysa a nasion a naggapu idiay Egipto. Kalkalubanda ti rupa ti daga ket addadan ita iti asidegko.
6 Please come now therefore, and curse this people for me; for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
Isu a pangngaasim ta umayka itan ket ilunodmo daytoy a nasion para kaniak, gapu ta napigsada unay para kaniak. Nalabit a kabaelakton ida a darupen ken patalawen manipud iti daga. Ammok a mabendisionanto ti siasinoman a bendisionam, ken mailunodto ti siasinoman nga ilunodmo.”
7 The elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand. They came to Balaam, and spoke to him the words of Balak.
Pimmanaw ngarud dagiti panglakayen iti Moabita ken dagiti panglakayen dagiti Midianita nga awit-awitda ti bayad iti panangilunod. Dimtengda iti ayan ni Balaam ket imbagada kenkuana dagiti sasao ni Balak.
8 He said to them, “Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak to me.” The princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.
Kinuna ni Balaam kadakuada, “Umiankayo ditoy ita a rabii. Ibagakto kadakayo ti ibaga ni Yahweh kaniak.” Immian ngarud dagiti pangulo iti Moabita iti ayan ni Balaam ti dayta a rabii.
9 God came to Balaam, and said, “Who are these men with you?”
Immay ti Dios kenni Balaam ket kinunana, “Siasino dagitoy a lallaki nga immay kenka?”
10 Balaam said to God, “Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has said to me,
Simmungbat ni Balaam iti Dios, “Imbaon ida kaniak ni Balak nga anak ni Sefor, ti ari iti Moab. Kinunana,
11 ‘Behold, the people that has come out of Egypt covers the surface of the earth. Now, come curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.’”
“Kitaem, dagiti tattao a naggapu iti Egipto ket kinalubanda ti rabaw ti dagak. Umayka itan ket ilunodmo ida para kaniak. Nalabit a kabaelakto a karanget ida ken mapatalawko ida,'”
12 God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them. You shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.”
Insungbat ti Dios kenni Balaam, “Saan a rumbeng a sumurotka kadagitoy a lallaki. Saan a rumbeng nga ilunodmo dagiti Israelita gapu ta nabendisionandan.”
13 Balaam rose up in the morning, and said to the princes of Balak, “Go to your land; for the LORD refuses to permit me to go with you.”
Bimmangon ni Balaam iti bigat ket kinunana kadagiti papangulo ni Balak, “Agsublikayon iti dagayo gapu ta saan nga impalubos ni Yahweh a sumurotak kadakayo.”
14 The princes of Moab rose up, and they went to Balak, and said, “Balaam refuses to come with us.”
Pimmanaw ngarud dagiti papangulo ti Moab ket nagsublida kenni Balak. Kinunada, “Nagkedked ni Balaam a sumurot kadakami.”
15 Balak again sent princes, more, and more honourable than they.
Nangibaon manen ni Balak iti ad-adu a papangulo nga ad-adda a mararaem ngem kadagiti immuna a bunggoy.
16 They came to Balaam, and said to him, “Balak the son of Zippor says, ‘Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me,
Dimtengda iti ayan ni Balaam ket kinunada kenkuana, “Ibagbaga daytoy ni Balak nga anak ni Sefor, “Pangngaasim ta saanmo nga ipalubos nga adda makalapped kenka iti iyaaymo kaniak,
17 for I will promote you to very great honour, and whatever you say to me I will do. Please come therefore, and curse this people for me.’”
gapu ta bayadanka iti nawadwad ken raemenka iti kasta unay, ken aramidek ti aniaman nga ibagam kaniak. Isu a pangngaasim ta umayka ket ilunodmo dagitoy a tattao para kaniak.'”
18 Balaam answered the servants of Balak, “If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
Simmungbat ni Balaam ket kinunana kadagiti tattao ni Balak, “Uray no ited kaniak ni Balak ti palasiona a napnoan iti pirak ken balitok, saan a mabalin nga un-unaak ti sao ni Yahweh a Diosko, ken aramiden ti kabassitan ken kadakkelan a banag ngem iti ibagbagana kaniak.
19 Now therefore please stay here tonight as well, that I may know what else the LORD will speak to me.”
Ita ngarud, aguraykayo met ditoy ita a rabii, tapno maammoak ti aniaman a mainayon nga ibaga ni Yahweh kaniak.”
20 God came to Balaam at night, and said to him, “If the men have come to call you, rise up, go with them; but only the word which I speak to you, that you shall do.”
Immay ti Dios kenni Balaam iti dayta a rabii ket kinunana kenkuana, “Agsipud ta immay dagitoy a lallaki a mangay-ayab kenka, agrubwatka ket sumurotka kadakuada. Ngem aramidem laeng ti ibagak kenka.”
21 Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.
Bimmangon ni Balaam iti agsapa, sinilyaanna ti asnona, ket kimmuyog kadagiti pangulo ti Moab.
22 God’s anger burnt because he went; and the LORD’s angel placed himself in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
Ngem gapu ta napan isuna, nariing ti pungtot ti Dios. Nagtakder ti anghel ni Yahweh iti dalan tapno lapdanna ni Balaam a sisasakay iti asnona. Kadua met ni Balaam dagiti dua nga adipenna.
23 The donkey saw the LORD’s angel standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and the donkey turned out of the path, and went into the field. Balaam struck the donkey, to turn her into the path.
Nakita ti asno ti anghel ni Yahweh nga agtaktakder iti kalsada nga iggemna ti kampilanna. Simmina iti kalsada ti asno ket nagturong iti kataltalonan. Sinaplitan ni Balaam ti asno tapno agsubli daytoy iti kalsada.
24 Then the LORD’s angel stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.
Ket nagtakder manen ti anghel ni Yahweh iti nailet a paset ti kalsada a nagbaetan dagiti kaubasan, nga adda bakud iti makannawanna kasta met iti makannigidna.
25 The donkey saw the LORD’s angel, and she thrust herself to the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall. He struck her again.
Nakita manen ti asno ti anghel ni Yahweh. Impilitna ti lumsot iti bakud ket naipit ti saka ni Balaam. Sinaplitan manen ni Balaam ti asno.
26 The LORD’s angel went further, and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
Immun-una ti anghel ni Yahweh ket timmakder iti sabali pay a nailet a disso nga awanen ti dalan a mabalin a paglusotan.
27 The donkey saw the LORD’s angel, and she lay down under Balaam. Balaam’s anger burnt, and he struck the donkey with his staff.
Nakita ti asno ti anghel ni Yahweh, ket inyiddanan a sisasakay pay laeng ni Balaam kenkuana. Ad-adda a nagpungtot ni Balaam, ket imbaotna ti bastonna iti asno.
28 The LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”
Ket linukatan ni Yahweh ti ngiwat ti asno tapno makasao daytoy. Kinunana kenni Balaam, “Ania ti inaramidko kenka tapno ablatannak iti mamitlo a daras?”
29 Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have mocked me, I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you.”
Simmungbat ni Balaam iti asno, “Gapu ta pagbalbalinennak a maag. Adda la koma kampilan iti imak. Ta no adda, napatayka koma itan.”
30 The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long until today? Was I ever in the habit of doing so to you?” He said, “No.”
Kinuna ti asno kenni Balaam, “Saan kadi a siak ti asnom a sinaksakayam iti las-ud iti panagbiagmo inggana ita? Adda kadin inaramidko a kastoy idi?” “Awan,” kinuna ni Balaam.
31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the LORD’s angel standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and he bowed his head, and fell on his face.
Kalpasanna, linukatan ni Yahweh ti mata ni Balaam, ket nakitana ti anghel ni Yahweh a sitaktakder iti kalsada nga adda iggemna a kampilan. Nagdumog ni Balaam ket nagpakleb isuna.
32 The LORD’s angel said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me.
Kinuna ti anghel ni Yahweh kenkuana. “Apay a sinaplitam ti asnom iti namitlo? Kitaem, immayak a manglapped kenka gapu ta dakes iti imatangko ti ar-aramidem.
33 The donkey saw me, and turned away before me these three times. Unless she had turned away from me, surely now I would have killed you, and saved her alive.”
Nakitanak ti asno ket linisiannak iti namitlo a daras. No saannak a linisian, napatayka koma ket naispal ti biagna.”
34 Balaam said to the LORD’s angel, “I have sinned; for I didn’t know that you stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases you, I will go back again.”
Kinuna ni Balaam iti anghel ni Yahweh, “Nagbasolak. Saanko nga ammo nga agtaktakderka iti kalsada a manglaplapped kaniak. Ita ngarud, no saan a makaay-ayo kenka daytoy a panagdaliasatko, agsubliak iti naggapuak.”
35 The LORD’s angel said to Balaam, “Go with the men; but you shall only speak the word that I shall speak to you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
Ngem kinuna ti anghel ni Yahweh kenni Balaam, “Kumuyogka latta kadagiti lallaki. Ngem masapul a dagiti sasao laeng nga ibagak kenka ti ibagam.” Simmurot ngarud ni Balaam kadagiti papangulo ni Balak.
36 When Balak heard that Balaam had come, he went out to meet him to the City of Moab, which is on the border of the Arnon, which is in the utmost part of the border.
Idi nadamag ni Balak a paumayen ni Balaam, rimmuar isuna tapno sabtenna ni Balaam iti siudad ti Moab idiay Arnon nga adda iti nagbeddengan.
37 Balak said to Balaam, “Didn’t I earnestly send for you to summon you? Why didn’t you come to me? Am I not able indeed to promote you to honour?”
Kinuna ni Balak kenni Balaam, “Saan kadi a nangibaonak kadagiti lallaki a mangayab kenka? Apay a saanka nga immay kaniak? Saanko kadi a kabaelan a raemenka?”
38 Balaam said to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you. Have I now any power at all to speak anything? I will speak the word that God puts in my mouth.”
Ket simmungbat ni Balaam kenni Balak, “Kitaem, addaakon iti ayanmo. Adda kadin kalintegak nga agsao iti aniaman a banag? Ti laeng maibagak ket dagiti sasao ti Dios nga ikabkabilna iti ngiwatko.”
39 Balaam went with Balak, and they came to Kiriath Huzoth.
Simmurot ni Balaam kenni Balak, ket nakadanonda idiay Kiriat Husot.
40 Balak sacrificed cattle and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes who were with him.
Kalpasanna, nangidaton ni Balak iti baka ken karnero ket nangted isuna iti sumagmamano a karne kenni Balaam ken kadagiti pangulo a kakaduana.
41 In the morning, Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal; and he saw from there part of the people.
Kabigatanna, inkuyog ni Balak ni Balaam a simmang-at idiay Bamot Baal. Manipud sadiay, dagiti laeng bassit a paset ti kampo dagiti Israelita ti nakita ni Balaam.
