Matthew 3
1 In those days, Yochanan the Immerser came, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
ਤਦਾਨੋਂ ਯੋਹ੍ੰਨਾਮਾ ਮੱਜਯਿਤਾ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਦੇਸ਼ਸ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਰਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਨ੍ ਕਥਯਾਮਾਸ,
2 “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
ਮਨਾਂਸਿ ਪਰਾਵਰ੍ੱਤਯਤ, ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗੀਯਰਾਜਤ੍ਵੰ ਸਮੀਪਮਾਗਤਮ੍|
3 For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਸ੍ਯ ਪਨ੍ਥਾਨੰ ਪਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਕੁਰੁਤ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਤਃ| ਤਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜਪਥਾਂਸ਼੍ਚੈਵ ਸਮੀਕੁਰੁਤ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਥਾ| ਇਤ੍ਯੇਤਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਰੇ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਵਦਤਃ ਕਸ੍ਯਚਿਦ੍ ਰਵਃ||
4 Now Yochanan himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
ਏਤਦ੍ਵਚਨੰ ਯਿਸ਼ਯਿਯਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨਾ ਯੋਹਨਮੁੱਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਭਾਸ਼਼ਿਤਮ੍| ਯੋਹਨੋ ਵਸਨੰ ਮਹਾਙ੍ਗਰੋਮਜੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਕਟੌ ਚਰ੍ੰਮਕਟਿਬਨ੍ਧਨੰ; ਸ ਚ ਸ਼ੂਕਕੀਟਾਨ੍ ਮਧੁ ਚ ਭੁਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍|
5 Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.
ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਨਗਰਨਿਵਾਸਿਨਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਯਿਹੂਦਿਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾ ਯਰ੍ੱਦਨ੍ਤਟਿਨ੍ਯਾ ਉਭਯਤਟਸ੍ਥਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਮਾਨਵਾ ਬਹਿਰਾਗਤ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੇ
6 They were immersed by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
ਸ੍ਵੀਯੰ ਸ੍ਵੀਯੰ ਦੁਰਿਤਮ੍ ਅਙ੍ਗੀਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਂ ਯਰ੍ੱਦਨਿ ਤੇਨ ਮੱਜਿਤਾ ਬਭੂਵੁਃ|
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his immersion, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
ਅਪਰੰ ਬਹੂਨ੍ ਫਿਰੂਸ਼ਿਨਃ ਸਿਦੂਕਿਨਸ਼੍ਚ ਮਨੁਜਾਨ੍ ਮੰਕ੍ਤੁੰ ਸ੍ਵਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਆਗੱਛ੍ਤੋ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਅਭਿਦਧੌ, ਰੇ ਰੇ ਭੁਜਗਵੰਸ਼ਾ ਆਗਾਮੀਨਃ ਕੋਪਾਤ੍ ਪਲਾਯਿਤੁੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਕਸ਼੍ਚੇਤਿਤਵਾਨ੍?
8 Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!
ਮਨਃਪਰਾਵਰ੍ੱਤਨਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੁਚਿਤੰ ਫਲੰ ਫਲਤ|
9 Don’t think to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਤਾਤ ਇਬ੍ਰਾਹੀਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਤੀਤਿ ਸ੍ਵੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਮਨਃਸੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਤਯਨ੍ਤੋ ਮਾ ਵ੍ਯਾਹਰਤ| ਯਤੋ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਅਹੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ, ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਏਤੇਭ੍ਯਃ ਪਾਸ਼਼ਾਣੇਭ੍ਯ ਇਬ੍ਰਾਹੀਮਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾਨ੍ ਉਤ੍ਪਾਦਯਿਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ|
10 Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
ਅਪਰੰ ਪਾਦਪਾਨਾਂ ਮੂਲੇ ਕੁਠਾਰ ਇਦਾਨੀਮਪਿ ਲਗਨ੍ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਯਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਪਾਦਪੇ ਉੱਤਮੰ ਫਲੰ ਨ ਭਵਤਿ, ਸ ਕ੍ਰੁʼੱਤੋ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ(ਅ)ਗ੍ਨਿੰ ਨਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤੇ|
11 “I indeed immerse you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.
ਅਪਰਮ੍ ਅਹੰ ਮਨਃਪਰਾਵਰ੍ੱਤਨਸੂਚਕੇਨ ਮੱਜਨੇਨ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਮੱਜਯਾਮੀਤਿ ਸਤ੍ਯੰ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਮਮ ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਯ ਆਗੱਛਤਿ, ਸ ਮੱਤੋਪਿ ਮਹਾਨ੍, ਅਹੰ ਤਦੀਯੋਪਾਨਹੌ ਵੋਢੁਮਪਿ ਨਹਿ ਯੋਗ੍ਯੋਸ੍ਮਿ, ਸ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਵਹ੍ਨਿਰੂਪੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਤ੍ਮਨਿ ਸੰਮੱਜਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”
ਤਸ੍ਯ ਕਾਰੇ ਸੂਰ੍ਪ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ, ਸ ਸ੍ਵੀਯਸ਼ਸ੍ਯਾਨਿ ਸਮ੍ਯਕ੍ ਪ੍ਰਸ੍ਫੋਟ੍ਯ ਨਿਜਾਨ੍ ਸਕਲਗੋਧੂਮਾਨ੍ ਸੰਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਯ ਭਾਣ੍ਡਾਗਾਰੇ ਸ੍ਥਾਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਕਿੰਨ੍ਤੁ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਣਿ ਵੁਸ਼਼ਾਣ੍ਯਨਿਰ੍ੱਵਾਣਵਹ੍ਨਿਨਾ ਦਾਹਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
13 Then Yeshua came from Galilee to the Jordan to Yochanan, to be immersed by him.
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਯੋਹਨਾ ਮੱਜਿਤੋ ਭਵਿਤੁੰ ਗਾਲੀਲ੍ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਦ੍ ਯਰ੍ੱਦਨਿ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਆਜਗਾਮ|
14 But Yochanan would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be immersed by you, and you come to me?”
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੋਹਨ੍ ਤੰ ਨਿਸ਼਼ਿਧ੍ਯ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ੇ, ਤ੍ਵੰ ਕਿੰ ਮਮ ਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਆਗੱਛਸਿ? ਵਰੰ ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਮੱਜਨੰ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਜਨਮ੍ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ|
15 But Yeshua, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfil all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.
ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵੋਚਤ੍; ਈਦਾਨੀਮ੍ ਅਨੁਮਨ੍ਯਸ੍ਵ, ਯਤ ਇੱਥੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਧਰ੍ੰਮਸਾਧਨਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤਵ੍ਯੰ, ਤਤਃ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਨ੍ਵਮਨ੍ਯਤ|
16 Yeshua, when he was immersed, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰੰਮਸਿ ਮੱਜਿਤੁਃ ਸਨ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣਾਤ੍ ਤੋਯਮਧ੍ਯਾਦ੍ ਉੱਥਾਯ ਜਗਾਮ, ਤਦਾ ਜੀਮੂਤਦ੍ਵਾਰੇ ਮੁਕ੍ਤੇ ਜਾਤੇ, ਸ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯਾਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਕਪੋਤਵਦ੍ ਅਵਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਸ੍ਵੋਪਰ੍ੱਯਾਗੱਛਨ੍ਤੰ ਵੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਞ੍ਚਕ੍ਰੇ|
17 Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
ਅਪਰਮ੍ ਏਸ਼਼ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰਿਯਃ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਏਤਸ੍ਮਿੰਨੇਵ ਮਮ ਮਹਾਸਨ੍ਤੋਸ਼਼ ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀ ਵ੍ਯੋਮਜਾ ਵਾਗ੍ ਬਭੂਵ|
