< Matthew 22 >

1 Yeshua answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,
Jesu tún fi òwe sọ̀rọ̀ fún wọn wí pé:
2 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,
“Ìjọba ọ̀run dàbí ọba kan ti ó múra àsè ìgbéyàwó ńlá fún ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin.
3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
Ó rán àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ lọ pe àwọn tí a ti pè tẹ́lẹ̀ sí ibi àsè ìgbéyàwó. Ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò fẹ́ wá.
4 Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’
“Lẹ́yìn náà ó tún rán àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ mìíràn pé, ‘Ẹ sọ fún àwọn tí mo ti pè wí pé, mo ti ṣe àsè náà tán. A pa màlúù àti ẹran àbọ́pa mi, a ti ṣe ohun gbogbo tán, ẹ wa sí ibi àsè ìgbéyàwó.’
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
“Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn wọ̀n-ọn-nì tí ó ránṣẹ́ lọ pè kò kà á si. Wọ́n ń bá iṣẹ́ wọn lọ, ọ̀kan sí ọ̀nà oko rẹ̀, òmíràn sí ibi òwò rẹ̀.”
6 and the rest grabbed his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
Àwọn ìyókù sì mú àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, wọ́n ṣe àbùkù sí wọn, wọ́n lù wọ́n pa.
7 When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burnt their city.
Ọba yìí bínú gidigidi, ó sì rán àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀, ó sì pa àwọn apànìyàn náà run, ó sì jó ìlú wọn.
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.
“Nígbà náà ni ó wí fún àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ pé, ‘Àsè ìgbéyàwó ti ṣe tàn, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn tí a pè kò yẹ fún ọlá náà.
9 Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’
Ẹ lọ sí ìgboro àti òpópónà kí ẹ sì pe ẹnikẹ́ni tí ẹ bá lè rí wá àsè ìgbéyàwó náà.’
10 Those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
Nítorí náà, àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ náà sì jáde lọ sí òpópónà. Wọ́n sì mú oríṣìíríṣìí ènìyàn tí wọ́n lè rí wá, àwọn tí ò dára àti àwọn tí kò dára, ilé àsè ìyàwó sì kún fún àlejò.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
“Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọba sì wọlé wá láti wo àwọn àlejò tí a pè, ó sì rí ọkùnrin kan nínú wọn tí kò wọ aṣọ ìgbéyàwó.
12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
Ọba sì bi í pé, ‘Ọ̀rẹ́, báwo ni ìwọ ṣe wà níhìn-ín yìí láìní aṣọ ìgbéyàwó?’ Ṣùgbọ́n ọkùnrin náà kò ní ìdáhùn kankan.
13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
“Nígbà náà ni ọba wí fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, ‘Ẹ dì í tọwọ́ tẹsẹ̀, kí ẹ sì sọ ọ́ sínú òkùnkùn lóde níbi tí ẹkún àti ìpayínkeke wà.’
14 For many are called, but few chosen.”
“Nítorí ọ̀pọ̀ ni a pè ṣùgbọ́n díẹ̀ ni a yàn.”
15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
Nígbà náà ni àwọn Farisi péjọpọ̀ láti ronú ọ̀nà tì wọn yóò gbà fi ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu mú un.
16 They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Rabbi, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.
Wọ́n sì rán àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn wọn pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn Herodu lọ sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ pé, “Olùkọ́, àwa mọ̀ pé olóòtítọ́ ni ìwọ, ìwọ sì ń kọ́ni ní ọ̀nà Ọlọ́run ní òtítọ́. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìwọ kì í wo ojú ẹnikẹ́ni; nítorí tí ìwọ kì í ṣe ojúsàájú ènìyàn.
17 Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
Nísinsin yìí sọ fún wa, kí ni èrò rẹ? Ǹjẹ́ ó tọ́ láti san owó orí fún Kesari tàbí kò tọ́?”
18 But Yeshua perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu ti mọ èrò búburú inú wọn, ó wí pé, “Ẹ̀yin àgàbàgebè, èéṣe ti ẹ̀yin fi ń dán mi wò?
19 Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.
Ẹ fi owó ẹyọ tí a fi ń san owó orí kan hàn mi.” Wọn mú dínárì kan wá fún un,
20 He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
ó sì bi wọ́n pé, “Àwòrán ta ni èyí? Àkọlé tà sì ní?”
21 They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
Wọ́n sì dáhùn pé, “Ti Kesari ni.” “Nígbà náà ni ó wí fún wọn pé,” “Ẹ fi èyí tí í ṣe ti Kesari fún Kesari, ẹ sì fi èyí ti ṣe ti Ọlọ́run fún Ọlọ́run.”
22 When they heard it, they marvelled, and left him and went away.
Nígbà tí wọ́n gbọ́ èyí, ẹnu yà wọ́n. Wọ́n fi í sílẹ̀, wọ́n sì bá tiwọn lọ.
23 On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
Ṣùgbọ́n ní ọjọ́ kan náà, àwọn Sadusi tí wọ́n sọ pé kò si àjíǹde lẹ́yìn ikú tọ Jesu wá láti bi í ní ìbéèrè,
24 saying, “Rabbi, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
wọ́n wí pé, “Olùkọ́, Mose wí fún wa pé, bí ọkùnrin kan bá kú ní àìlọ́mọ, kí arákùnrin rẹ̀ ṣú aya rẹ̀ lópó, kí ó sì bí ọmọ fún un.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
Bí ó bá jẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀, láàrín wa níhìn-ín yìí, ìdílé kan wà tí ó ní arákùnrin méje. Èyí èkínní nínú wọn gbéyàwó, lẹ́yìn náà ó kú ní àìlọ́mọ. Nítorí náà ìyàwó rẹ̀ di ìyàwó arákùnrin kejì.
26 In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ arákùnrin èkejì náà sì tún kú láìlọ́mọ. A sì fi ìyàwó rẹ̀ fún arákùnrin tí ó tún tẹ̀lé e. Bẹ́ẹ̀ sì ni títí tí òun fi di ìyàwó ẹni keje.
27 After them all, the woman died.
Níkẹyìn obìnrin náà pàápàá sì kú.
28 In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
Nítorí tí ó ti ṣe ìyàwó àwọn arákùnrin méjèèje, ìyàwó ta ni yóò jẹ́ ní àjíǹde òkú?”
29 But Yeshua answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu dá wọn lóhùn pé, “Àìmọ̀kan yín ni ó fa irú ìbéèrè báyìí. Nítorí ẹ̀yin kò mọ Ìwé Mímọ́ àti agbára Ọlọ́run.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
Nítorí ní àjíǹde kò ní sí ìgbéyàwó, a kò sì ní fi í fún ni ní ìyàwó. Gbogbo ènìyàn yóò sì dàbí àwọn angẹli ní ọ̀run.
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, nípa ti àjíǹde òkú, tàbí ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé Ọlọ́run ń bá yín sọ̀rọ̀ nígbà ti ó wí pé:
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
‘Èmi ni Ọlọ́run Abrahamu, Ọlọ́run Isaaki, àti Ọlọ́run Jakọbu.’ Ọlọ́run kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run òkú, ṣùgbọ́n tí àwọn alààyè.”
33 When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
Nígbà ti àwọn ènìyàn gbọ́ èyí ẹnu yà wọ́n sí ẹ̀kọ́ rẹ.
34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
Nígbà ti wọ́n sì gbọ́ pé ó ti pa àwọn Sadusi lẹ́nu mọ́, àwọn Farisi pé ara wọn jọ.
35 One of them, a Torah scholar, asked him a question, testing him.
Ọ̀kan nínú wọn tí ṣe amòfin dán an wò pẹ̀lú ìbéèrè yìí.
36 “Rabbi, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
Ó wí pé, “Olùkọ́ èwo ni ó ga jùlọ nínú àwọn òfin?”
37 Yeshua said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
Jesu dáhùn pé, “‘Fẹ́ Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn rẹ, gbogbo ẹ̀mí rẹ àti gbogbo inú rẹ.’
38 This is the first and great commandment.
Èyí ni òfin àkọ́kọ́ àti èyí tí ó tóbi jùlọ.
39 A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’
Èkejì tí ó tún dàbí rẹ̀ ní pé, ‘Fẹ́ràn ọmọnìkejì rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ara rẹ.’
40 The whole Torah and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”
Lórí àwọn òfin méjèèjì yìí ni gbogbo òfin àti àwọn wòlíì rọ̀ mọ́.”
41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them a question,
Bí àwọn Farisi ti kó ara wọn jọ, Jesu béèrè lọ́wọ́ wọn pé,
42 saying, “What do you think of the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
“Kí ni ẹ rò nípa Kristi? Ọmọ ta ni òun ń ṣe?” Wọ́n dáhùn pé, “Ọmọ Dafidi.”
43 He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
Ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Kí lo dé tí Dafidi, tí ẹ̀mí ń darí, pè é ní ‘Olúwa’? Nítorí ó wí pé,
44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?
“‘Olúwa sọ fún Olúwa mi pé, “Jókòó ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún mi títí tí èmi yóò fi fi àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ sí abẹ́ ẹsẹ̀ rẹ.”’
45 “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
Ǹjẹ́ bí Dafidi bá pè é ni ‘Olúwa,’ báwo ni òun ṣe lè jẹ́ ọmọ rẹ̀?”
46 No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
Kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó lè sọ ọ̀rọ̀ kan ni ìdáhùn, kò tún sí ẹni tí ó tún bí i léèrè ohun kan mọ́ láti ọjọ́ náà mọ́.
