Matthew 22
1 Yeshua answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,
येशु फिर से उन्हें दृष्टान्तों में शिक्षा देने लगे. उन्होंने कहा,
2 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,
“स्वर्ग-राज्य की तुलना एक राजा से की जा सकती है, जिसने अपने पुत्र के विवाह के उपलक्ष्य में एक भोज का आयोजन किया.
3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
राजा ने अपने सेवकों को आमंत्रित अतिथियों को बुला लाने के लिए भेजा किंतु उन्होंने आना न चाहा.
4 Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’
“राजा ने अन्य सेवकों को यह कहकर भेजा, ‘आमंत्रित अतिथियों से कहो, “मैंने अपने भोज की सारी तैयारी कर ली है. मोटे-ताजे पशुओं को काटे हैं, अच्छे व्यंजन बनाए जा चुके हैं. सब कुछ तैयार है, भोज में पधारिए.”’
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
“किंतु आमंत्रितों ने इस पर भी कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया परंतु वे सब अपने कामों में लगे रहे—एक अपने खेत में, दूसरा अपने व्यापार में;
6 and the rest grabbed his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
शेष ने उन सेवकों को पकड़कर उनके साथ गलत व्यवहार किया और फिर उनकी हत्या कर डाली.
7 When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burnt their city.
गुस्से में आकर राजा ने वहां अपनी सेना भेज दी कि वह उन हत्यारों का नाश करे और उनके नगर को भस्म कर दे.
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.
“तब राजा ने अपने सेवकों को आज्ञा दी, ‘विवाह-भोज तो तैयार है किंतु जिन्हें आमंत्रित किया गया था, वे इसके योग्य न थे;
9 Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’
इसलिये अब तुम प्रधान चौकों पर चले जाओ और वहां तुम्हें जितने भी व्यक्ति मिलें, उन्हें विवाह-भोज में आमंत्रित करो.’
10 Those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
उन सेवकों ने जाकर रास्ते पर जितने व्यक्ति मिले, उन्हें इकट्ठा कर लिया—योग्य-अयोग्य सभी को, जिससे विवाहोत्सव का भोजनकक्ष आमंत्रितों से भर गया.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
“जब राजा उस कक्ष में उनसे भेंट करने आया, उसने वहां एक ऐसे व्यक्ति को देखा, जिसने विवाहोत्सव के लिए उपयुक्त वस्त्र नहीं पहने थे.
12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
राजा ने उससे प्रश्न किया, ‘मित्र, विवाहोत्सव के लिए सही वस्त्र पहने बिना तुम यहां कैसे आ गए?’ उसके पास इसका कोई उत्तर न था.
13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
“तब राजा ने सेवकों को आज्ञा दी, ‘इसके हाथ-पांव बांधकर बाहर अंधकार में फेंक दो, जहां बहुत रोना और दांत पीसना होता रहेगा.’
14 For many are called, but few chosen.”
“बुलाए हुए तो बहुत हैं, किंतु चुने हुए थोड़े.”
15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
तब फ़रीसियों ने जाकर येशु को उन्हीं के शब्दों में फंसाने की योजना की.
16 They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Rabbi, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.
उन्होंने येशु के पास हेरोदेस समर्थकों को इस प्रश्न के साथ भेजा: “गुरुवर, हमें यह तो मालूम है कि आप सच्चे हैं, तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य की शिक्षा पूरी सच्चाई में ही देते हैं. आप में कहीं कोई भेद-भाव नहीं है, और आप किसी मनुष्य के प्रभाव में नहीं आते.
17 Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
इसलिये हमें बताइए कि आपके विचार से कयसर को कर भुगतान करना उचित है या नहीं?”
18 But Yeshua perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
येशु को उनकी कुटिलता का अहसास हो गया. येशु ने कहा, “अरे पाखंडियों! मुझे परखने का प्रयास कर रहे हो!
19 Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.
कर के लिए निर्धारित मुद्रा मुझे दिखाओ.” उन्होंने येशु को दीनार की एक मुद्रा दिखाई.
20 He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
येशु ने उनसे कहा, “इस पर यह आकृति तथा मुद्रण किसका है?”
21 They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
“कयसर का,” उन्होंने उत्तर दिया. इस पर येशु ने उनसे कहा, “तो फिर जो कयसर का है, कयसर को दो और जो परमेश्वर का है, परमेश्वर को.”
22 When they heard it, they marvelled, and left him and went away.
इस पर वे चकित होकर येशु को छोड़कर वहां से चले गए.
23 On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
उसी समय सदूकी संप्रदाय के कुछ लोग, जिनकी यह मान्यता है कि पुनरुत्थान जैसा कुछ नहीं होता, येशु के पास आए और उनसे प्रश्न करने लगे,
24 saying, “Rabbi, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
“गुरुवर, मोशेह की शिक्षा है: यदि कोई पुरुष निःसंतान हो और उसकी मृत्यु हो जाए तो उसका भाई उसकी पत्नी से विवाह करके अपने भाई के लिए संतान पैदा करे.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
इसी विषय में एक घटना इस प्रकार है: एक परिवार में सात भाई थे. पहले का विवाह हुआ किंतु उसकी मृत्यु हो गई. इसलिये कि वह निःसंतान था वह अपनी पत्नी को अपने भाई के लिए छोड़ गया.
26 In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
ऐसा ही दूसरे, तीसरे भाई से लेकर सातवें भाई तक होता रहा.
27 After them all, the woman died.
अंत में उस स्त्री की भी मृत्यु हो गई.
28 In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
अब यह बताइए कि पुनरुत्थान पर वह किसकी पत्नी कहलाएगी? क्योंकि उसका विवाह तो उन सबके साथ हुआ था.”
29 But Yeshua answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “तुम लोग बड़ी भूल कर रहे हो: तुमने न तो पवित्र शास्त्र के लेखों को समझा है और न ही परमेश्वर के सामर्थ्य को.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
पुनरुत्थान में न तो लोग वैवाहिक अवस्था में होंगे और न ही वहां उनके विवाह होंगे. वहां तो वे सभी स्वर्ग के दूतों के समान होंगे.
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
मरे हुओं के जी उठने के विषय में क्या आपने पढ़ा नहीं कि परमेश्वर ने आपसे यह कहा था:
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
‘मैं ही अब्राहाम का परमेश्वर, यित्सहाक का परमेश्वर तथा याकोब का परमेश्वर हूं’? वह मरे हुओं के नहीं परंतु जीवितों के परमेश्वर हैं.”
33 When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
भीड़ उनकी शिक्षा को सुनकर चकित थी.
34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
जब फ़रीसियों को यह मालूम हुआ कि येशु ने सदूकियों का मुंह बंद कर दिया है, वे स्वयं एकजुट हो गए.
35 One of them, a Torah scholar, asked him a question, testing him.
उनमें से एक व्यवस्थापक ने येशु को परखने की मंशा से उनके सामने यह प्रश्न रखा:
36 “Rabbi, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
“गुरुवर, व्यवस्था के अनुसार सबसे बड़ी आज्ञा कौन सी है?”
37 Yeshua said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
येशु ने उसे उत्तर दिया, “तुम प्रभु, अपने परमेश्वर से, अपने सारे हृदय, अपने सारे प्राण तथा अपनी सारी समझ से प्रेम करो.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
यही प्रमुख तथा सबसे बड़ी आज्ञा है.
39 A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’
ऐसी ही दूसरी सबसे बड़ी आज्ञा है: ‘अपने पड़ोसी से वैसे ही प्रेम करो जैसे तुम स्वयं से करते हो.’
40 The whole Torah and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”
इन्हीं दो आदेशों पर सारी व्यवस्था और भविष्यवाणियां आधारित हैं.”
41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them a question,
वहां इकट्ठा फ़रीसियों के सामने येशु ने यह प्रश्न रखा,
42 saying, “What do you think of the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
“मसीह के विषय में क्या मत है आपका—किसकी संतान है वह?” “दावीद की,” उन्होंने उत्तर दिया.
43 He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
तब येशु ने उनसे आगे पूछा, “तब फिर पवित्र आत्मा से भरकर दावीद उसे ‘प्रभु’ कहकर संबोधित क्यों करते हैं? दावीद ने कहा है
44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?
“‘प्रभु ने मेरे प्रभु से कहा, “मेरी दायीं ओर बैठे रहो, जब तक मैं तुम्हारे शत्रुओं को तुम्हारे अधीन न कर दूं.”’
45 “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
यदि दावीद मसीह को प्रभु कहकर संबोधित करते हैं तो वह उनकी संतान कैसे हुए?”
46 No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
इसके उत्तर में न तो फ़रीसी कुछ कह सके और न ही इसके बाद किसी को भी उनसे कोई प्रश्न करने का साहस हुआ.
