Matthew 11
1 When Yeshua had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and proclaim in their cities.
Y sucedió que cuando Jesús terminó de dar estas órdenes a sus doce discípulos, se fue de allí, enseñando y predicando en sus ciudades.
2 Now when Yochanan heard in the prison the works of Messiah, he sent two of his disciples
Cuando Juan tuvo noticias en la cárcel de las obras del Cristo, envió a sus discípulos.
3 and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”
Para decirle: ¿Eres tú el que ha de venir, o estamos esperando a otro?
4 Yeshua answered them, “Go and tell Yochanan the things which you hear and see:
Respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ve, y hazle saber a Juan de lo que están viendo y oyendo:
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
Los ciegos ven; aquellos que no podían caminar, están caminando; los leprosos están limpios; aquellos que no escuchaban, ahora tienen los oídos abiertos; los muertos vuelven a la vida y los pobres reciben las buenas nuevas.
6 Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
Y una bendición será sobre aquel que no pierde su confianza en mi.
7 As these went their way, Yeshua began to say to the multitudes concerning Yochanan, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
Cuando se iban, Jesús, hablando de Juan, dijo a todo el pueblo: ¿Qué salieron a ver en el desierto? un tallo alto moviéndose en el viento?
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
Pero ¿qué salieron a ver? un hombre delicadamente vestido? Aquellos que tienen túnicas delicadas están en casas de reyes.
9 But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
Pero ¿por qué salieron a ver? a ver a un profeta? Sí, les digo, y más que un profeta.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
Este es aquel de quien se ha dicho: Mira, envío a mi siervo delante de tu rostro, que preparará tu camino delante de ti.
11 Most certainly I tell you, amongst those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than Yochanan the Immerser; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que entre los hijos de las mujeres no ha habido mayor que Juan el Bautista; pero el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él.
12 From the days of Yochanan the Immerser until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
Y desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, el reino de los cielos se está forzando a entrar, y los hombres a la fuerza lo toman.
13 For all the Prophets and the Torah prophesied until Yochanan.
Porque todos los profetas y la ley estuvieron vigentes hasta Juan.
14 If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
Y si quieren verlo, este es Elías quien vendría.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
El que tiene oídos para oír, que oiga.
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
¿Pero qué comparación puedo hacer de esta generación? Es como niños sentados en los mercados, gritando unos a otros,
17 and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
Hicimos música para ti y no participaste en el baile; Lanzamos gritos de dolor y no hiciste ningún signo de dolor.
18 For Yochanan came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’
Porque Juan vino sin tomar comida ni bebida, y dicen: Él tiene espíritu malo.
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”
El Hijo del Hombre se ha dado un banquete, y dicen: Mira, amante de la comida y el vino, amigo de publicanos y pecadores. Y la sabiduría se juzga correcta por sus obras.
20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
Luego pasó a reprender a las ciudades donde se hicieron la mayoría de sus milagros, porque no se habían apartado de sus pecados.
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
Ay! De ti, Corazin! Ay! de ti, Betsaida! Porque si los milagros que se hicieron en ustedes hubieran sido hechas en Tiro y en Sidón, en tiempos pasados habrían sido apartadas de sus pecados en cilicio y en ceniza.
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgement than for you.
Pero yo les digo que será mejor para Tiro y Sidón en el día de juzgar que para ustedes.
23 You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Sheol. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today. (Hadēs g86)
Y tú, Capernaum, ¿crees que serás levantada hasta el cielo? descenderá hasta lo más hondo del infierno, porque si los milagros que se hicieron entre ustedes hubieran sido hechos en Sodoma, habría estado aquí hasta el día de hoy. (Hadēs g86)
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgement, than for you.”
Pero yo les digo que será mejor para la tierra de Sodoma en el día de juzgar, que para ustedes.
25 At that time, Yeshua answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
En aquel tiempo, Jesús respondió y dijo: Te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque has ocultado a los sabios y de los entendidos estas cosas, y las has manifestado a los niños pequeños.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
Sí, Padre, porque fue agradable a tus ojos.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Todas las cosas me han sido dadas por mi Padre; y nadie tiene conocimiento del Hijo, sino el Padre; y nadie tiene conocimiento del Padre, sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo lo quiera revelar.
28 “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
Vengan a mí, todos ustedes que están atribulados y cargados con trabajo, y les daré descanso.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
Acepten mi yugo sobre ustedes y aprendan de mí, porque soy gentil y sin orgullo, y tendrán descanso para sus almas;
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Porque mi yugo que les pongo es fácil, y mi carga que les doy ligera.
