Mark 14
1 It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception and kill him.
La Pâque et la fête des Pains sans levain devaient avoir lieu deux jours après. Les principaux sacrificateurs cherchaient le moyen d'arrêter Jésus par ruse, pour le mettre à mort;
2 For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot amongst the people.”
car ils disaient: «Il ne faut pas que ce soit pendant la fête, de peur qu'il n'y ait du tumulte parmi le peuple.»
3 While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar and poured it over his head.
Comme Jésus était à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux, et qu'il était à table, une femme entra avec un flacon d'albâtre contenant une essence de nard pur de grand prix. Elle ouvrit le flacon, et lui versa le parfum sur la tête.
4 But there were some who were indignant amongst themselves, saying, “Why has this ointment been wasted?
Or il y avait là des gens qui en témoignaient entre eux leur mécontentement: «Pourquoi perdre ainsi ce parfum?
5 For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” So they grumbled against her.
On aurait pu le vendre plus de trois cents deniers, et les donner aux pauvres; » et ils se fâchaient contre elle.
6 But Yeshua said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.
Mais Jésus dit: «Laissez-la; pourquoi lui faites-vous de la peine? Elle a fait une bonne action à mon égard.
7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.
Vous aurez toujours des pauvres avec vous, et, quand vous voudrez, vous pourrez leur faire du bien; mais vous ne m'aurez pas toujours.
8 She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.
Elle a fait ce qu'elle a pu; elle a embaumé d'avance mon corps pour la sépulture.
9 Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.”
En vérité, je vous dis que partout où l'évangile sera prêché, dans le monde entier, ce qu'elle a fait sera aussi raconté en mémoire d'elle.»
10 Judah Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.
Judas l'iscariote, l'un des Douze, alla trouver les principaux sacrificateurs pour leur livrer Jésus.
11 They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.
Cette ouverture les remplit de joie, et ils promirent de lui donner de l'argent. Judas cherchait donc une occasion favorable pour le livrer.
12 On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare that you may eat the Passover?”
Le premier jour des Pains sans levain, où l’on immolait la pâque, les disciples de Jésus lui dirent: «où veux-tu que nous allions te préparer le repas de la Pâque?»
13 He sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and there a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him,
Alors il envoya deux de ses disciples, et leur dit: «Allez à la ville; vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d'eau, suivez-le.
14 and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, ‘The Rabbi says, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
Et, en quelque lieu qu'il entre, dites au maître de la maison: «Le maître te fait dire: «Ou est la salle qui m'est réservée pour manger la pâque avec mes disciples?»
15 He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.”
Et lui-même vous montrera une grande salle haute, meublée et toute prête.
16 His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.
Préparez-nous-y la pâque.» Ses disciples partirent; ils vinrent à la ville, trouvèrent les choses comme il le leur avait dit, et ils préparèrent la pâque.
17 When it was evening he came with the twelve.
Jésus vint le soir avec les Douze.
18 As they sat and were eating, Yeshua said, “Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me.”
Pendant qu'ils étaient à table et qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus dit: «En vérité, je vous dis que l'un de vous me livrera, oui, celui qui mange avec moi!»
19 They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, “Surely not I?” And another said, “Surely not I?”
La tristesse les saisit, et ils se mirent à lui dire l'un après l'autre: «Est-ce moi? Est-ce moi?»
20 He answered them, “It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.
Il leur dit: «C'est l'un des Douze; oui, celui qui mange au même plat que moi!
21 For the Son of Man goes as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
Le Fils de l'homme s'en va selon ce qui est écrit de lui, mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme est livré! Mieux vaudrait pour cet homme-là n'être point né.»
22 As they were eating, Yeshua took bread, and when he had blessed it, he broke it and gave to them, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body.”
Pendant le repas, Jésus prit du pain, et, après avoir prononcé la bénédiction, il le rompit, et le leur donna en disant: «Prenez, ceci est mon corps.»
23 He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.
Puis il prit une coupe, et, ayant rendu grâces, il la leur donna; et ils en burent tous.
24 He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.
Et il leur dit: «Ceci est mon sang, le sang de l'alliance, qui sera répandu pour beaucoup de gens.
25 Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”
En vérité, je vous dis que je ne boirai plus du fruit de la vigne, jusqu'au jour où j'en boirai du nouveau dans le royaume de Dieu.»
26 When they had sung the Hallel, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Puis ils chantèrent les cantiques, et s'en allèrent à la montagne des Oliviers.
27 Yeshua said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
Jésus leur dit: «Je serai pour tous une occasion de chute, car il est écrit: «Je frapperai le berger, et les brebis seront dispersées.»
28 However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”
Mais, après que je serai ressuscité, je vous précéderai en Galilée.»
29 But Peter said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.”
Pierre lui dit: «Quand tu serais pour tous une occasion de chute, tu ne le seras point pour moi.»
30 Yeshua said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
Jésus lui repartit: «En vérité, je te dis que toi, aujourd'hui, cette nuit même, avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, tu m'auras renié trois fois.»
31 But he spoke all the more, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.
Mais Pierre renchérissant, lui dit: «Quand je devrais mourir avec toi, non, je ne te renierai point.» Et tous protestèrent de même.
32 They came to a place which was named Gethsemane. He said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
Ils arrivèrent en un lieu nommé Gethsémané, et Jésus dit à ses disciples: «Asseyez-vous ici, jusqu’à ce que j'aie prié.»
33 He took with him Peter, Jacob, and Yochanan, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
Il prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et commença à être rempli d'effroi et d'angoisse,
34 He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.”
et il leur dit: «Mon âme est saisie d'une tristesse mortelle; restez ici et veillez.»
35 He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.
Puis, ayant fait quelques pas en avant, il se jeta à genoux sur la terre, et il priait que, s'il était possible, cette heure passât loin de lui;
36 He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
et il disait: «Abba, Père, toutes choses te sont possibles, éloigne de moi ce calice; toutefois que ta volonté soit faite, et non la mienne.»
37 He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?
Il vint vers ses disciples, et, les trouvant endormis, il dit à Pierre: «Simon, tu dors! Tu n'as pu veiller une heure.
38 Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Veillez et priez, de peur que vous ne tombiez en tentation: l'esprit est plein d'ardeur, mais la chair est faible.»
39 Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.
Il s'éloigna de nouveau, et pria en répétant la même parole.
40 Again he returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they didn’t know what to answer him.
Puis il revint et les trouva de nouveau endormis, car leurs yeux étaient appesantis, et ils ne savaient que lui répondre.
41 He came the third time and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Il vint pour la troisième fois vers eux, et leur dit: «C'est trop dormir et vous reposer; assez! L'heure est venue; le Fils de l'homme va être livré entre les mains des pécheurs.
42 Arise! Let’s get going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
Levez-vous, allons! voici, celui qui me livre est proche.»
43 Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judah, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
Au même moment, comme il parlait encore, arriva Judas l'iscariote, qui était l'un des Douze, et avec lui une troupe armée d'épées et de bâtons, qui avait été envoyée par les principaux sacrificateurs, par les scribes et par les anciens.
44 Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely.”
Le traître était convenu avec eux d'un signe; il leur avait dit: «Celui que je baiserai, c'est lui; saisissez-le et l'emmenez sûrement.»
45 When he had come, immediately he came to him and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him.
Dès qu'il fut arrivé, il s'approcha de Jésus et lui dit: «Rabbi, Rabbi, » et il le baisa.
46 They laid their hands on him and seized him.
Les autres mirent la main sur Jésus, et l'arrêtèrent.
47 But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
Un de ceux qui étaient présents, ayant tiré l'épée, frappa le serviteur du souverain sacrificateur et lui emporta l'oreille.
48 Yeshua answered them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?
Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: «Vous êtes venus me prendre avec des épées et des bâtons, comme si vous poursuiviez un brigand.
49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”
Tous les jours, j'étais assis au milieu de vous dans le temple, y enseignant, et vous ne m'avez pas arrêté; mais il faut que les Écritures s'accomplissent.»
50 They all left him, and fled.
Alors ses disciples l'abandonnèrent et s'enfuirent tous.
51 A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,
Un jeune homme le suivait, n'ayant qu'un drap sur le corps. Les jeunes gens le saisirent,
52 but he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.
mais lui, ayant lâché le drap, leur échappa tout nu.
53 They led Yeshua away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him.
Ils emmenèrent Jésus vers le souverain sacrificateur, chez qui tous les principaux sacrificateurs, les anciens et les scribes s'assemblèrent.
54 Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.
Pierre suivit Jésus de loin, jusque dans l'intérieur de la cour du souverain sacrificateur, et, s'étant assis avec les agents, il se chauffait vers le feu.
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Yeshua to put him to death, and found none.
Les principaux sacrificateurs et tout le sanhédrin cherchaient quelque déposition contre Jésus, pour le mettre à mort, et ils n'en trouvaient point;
56 For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.
car plusieurs déposaient faussement contre lui, mais les dépositions ne s'accordaient pas.
57 Some stood up and gave false testimony against him, saying,
Alors des gens se présentèrent qui portèrent contre lui un faux témoignage,
58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
disant: «Nous l'avons, nous-mêmes, entendu dire: «Je détruirai ce temple élevé par la main des hommes, et en trois jours j'en bâtirai un autre, qui ne sera pas fait de main d'homme; »
59 Even so, their testimony didn’t agree.
et même sur ce point, leurs témoignages ne concordaient pas.
60 The high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Yeshua, “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”
Alors le souverain sacrificateur se leva, et, s'étant avancé au milieu de l'assemblée, il interrogea Jésus, disant: «Ne réponds-tu rien? Qu'est-ce que ces gens déposent contre toi?»
61 But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed?”
Mais Jésus garda le silence, et ne répondit rien. Le souverain sacrificateur l'interrogea de nouveau, et lui dit: «Es-tu le Messie, le Fils du Dieu béni?»
62 Yeshua said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”
— «Je le suis, répondit Jésus; et vous verrez le Fils de l'homme siéger à la droite du Tout-Puissant, et venir sur les nuées du ciel.»
63 The high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?
Le souverain sacrificateur déchira ses tuniques, et dit: «Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins?
64 You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.
Vous avez entendu le blasphème: que vous en semble?» Tous prononcèrent qu'il méritait la mort.
65 Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.
Quelques-uns se mirent à cracher sur lui, et, lui ayant bandé les yeux, ils lui donnaient des coups de poing, et lui disaient: «Devine.» Et les agents le reçurent en le souffletant.
66 As Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came,
Pendant que Pierre était en bas, dans la cour, il vint une des servantes du souverain sacrificateur,
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Yeshua!”
qui, voyant Pierre se chauffer, dit en l'envisageant: «Toi aussi, tu étais avec le Nazaréen, ce Jésus.»
68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.
Il le nia, disant: «Je ne sais pas, je ne comprends pas ce que tu veux dire; » là-dessus, il s'en alla, gagnant la cour extérieure, et un coq chanta.
69 The maid saw him and began again to tell those who stood by, “This is one of them.”
La servante, le voyant qui s'en allait, se mit de nouveau à dire à ceux qui étaient là: «Voilà un de ces gens-là.»
70 But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, “You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”
Pierre le nia une seconde fois. Un instant après, encore, ceux qui étaient là dirent à Pierre: «Certainement tu es des leurs, car tu es Galiléen.»
71 But he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”
Mais il se mit à faire des imprécations et à dire avec serment: «Je ne connais pas l'homme dont vous parlez.»
72 The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the words that Yeshua said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.
Alors, pour la seconde fois, un coq chanta, et Pierre se ressouvint de la parole que Jésus lui avait dite: «Avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, tu m'auras renié trois fois; » à cette pensée, il pleura.
