Luke 22
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.
さて、過越の祭りといわれる、種なしパンの祝いが近づいていた。
2 The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
祭司長、律法学者たちは、イエスを殺すための良い方法を捜していた。というのは、彼らは民衆を恐れていたからである。
3 Satan entered into Judah, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.
さて、十二弟子のひとりで、イスカリオテと呼ばれるユダに、サタンがはいった。
4 He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
ユダは出かけて行って、祭司長たちや宮の守衛長たちと、どのようにしてイエスを彼らに引き渡そうかと相談した。
5 They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
彼らは喜んで、ユダに金をやる約束をした。
6 He consented and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
ユダは承知した。そして群衆のいないときにイエスを彼らに引き渡そうと機会をねらっていた。
7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
さて、過越の小羊のほふられる、種なしパンの日が来た。
8 Yeshua sent Peter and Yochanan, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
イエスは、こう言ってペテロとヨハネを遣わされた。「わたしたちの過越の食事ができるように、準備をしに行きなさい。」
9 They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
彼らはイエスに言った。「どこに準備しましょうか。」
10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
イエスは言われた。「町にはいると、水がめを運んでいる男に会うから、その人がはいる家にまでついて行きなさい。
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Rabbi says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
そして、その家の主人に、『弟子たちといっしょに過越の食事をする客間はどこか、と先生があなたに言っておられる。』と言いなさい。
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
すると主人は、席が整っている二階の大広間を見せてくれます。そこで準備をしなさい。」
13 They went, found things as Yeshua had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
彼らが出かけて見ると、イエスの言われたとおりであった。それで、彼らは過越の食事の用意をした。
14 When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve emissaries.
さて時間になって、イエスは食卓に着かれ、使徒たちもイエスといっしょに席に着いた。
15 He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
イエスは言われた。「わたしは、苦しみを受ける前に、あなたがたといっしょに、この過越の食事をすることをどんなに望んでいたことか。
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”
あなたがたに言いますが、過越が神の国において成就するまでは、わたしはもはや二度と過越の食事をすることはありません。」
17 He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it amongst yourselves,
そしてイエスは、杯を取り、感謝をささげて後、言われた。「これを取って、互いに分けて飲みなさい。
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”
あなたがたに言いますが、今から、神の国が来る時までは、わたしはもはや、ぶどうの実で造った物を飲むことはありません。」
19 He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
それから、パンを取り、感謝をささげてから、裂いて、弟子たちに与えて言われた。「これは、あなたがたのために与える、わたしのからだです。わたしを覚えてこれを行ないなさい。」
20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
食事の後、杯も同じようにして言われた。「この杯は、あなたがたのために流されるわたしの血による新しい契約です。
21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
しかし、見なさい。わたしを裏切る者の手が、わたしとともに食卓にあります。
22 The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
人の子は、定められたとおりに去って行きます。しかし、人の子を裏切るような人間はのろわれます。」
23 They began to question amongst themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.
そこで弟子たちは、そんなことをしようとしている者は、いったいこの中のだれなのかと、互いに議論をし始めた。
24 A dispute also arose amongst them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
また、彼らの間には、この中でだれが一番偉いだろうかという論議も起こった。
25 He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
すると、イエスは彼らに言われた。「異邦人の王たちは人々を支配し、また人々の上に権威を持つ者は守護者と呼ばれています。
26 But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater amongst you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
だが、あなたがたは、それではいけません。あなたがたの間で一番偉い人は一番年の若い者のようになりなさい。また、治める人は仕える人のようでありなさい。
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am amongst you as one who serves.
食卓に着く人と給仕する者と、どちらが偉いでしょう。むろん、食卓に着く人でしょう。しかしわたしは、あなたがたのうちにあって給仕する者のようにしています。
28 “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
けれども、あなたがたこそ、わたしのさまざまの試練の時にも、わたしについて来てくれた人たちです。
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
わたしの父がわたしに王権を与えてくださったように、わたしもあなたがたに王権を与えます。
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
それであなたがたは、わたしの国でわたしの食卓に着いて食事をし、王座に着いて、イスラエルの十二の部族をさばくのです。
31 The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,
シモン、シモン。見なさい。サタンが、あなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って聞き届けられました。
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
しかし、わたしは、あなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈りました。だからあなたは、立ち直ったら、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい。」
33 He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
シモンはイエスに言った。「主よ。ごいっしょになら、牢であろうと、死であろうと、覚悟はできております。」
34 He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
しかし、イエスは言われた。「ペテロ。あなたに言いますが、きょう鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは三度、わたしを知らないと言います。」
35 He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
それから、弟子たちに言われた。「わたしがあなたがたを、財布も旅行袋もくつも持たせずに旅に出したとき、何か足りない物がありましたか。」彼らは言った。「いいえ。何もありませんでした。」
36 Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
そこで言われた。「しかし、今は、財布のある者は財布を持ち、同じく袋を持ち、剣のない者は着物を売って剣を買いなさい。
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”
あなたがたに言いますが、『彼は罪人たちの中に数えられた。』と書いてあるこのことが、わたしに必ず実現するのです。わたしにかかわることは実現します。」
38 They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
彼らは言った。「主よ。このとおり、ここに剣が二振りあります。」イエスは彼らに、「それで十分。」と言われた。
39 He came out and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
それからイエスは出て、いつものようにオリーブ山に行かれ、弟子たちも従った。
40 When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
いつもの場所に着いたとき、イエスは彼らに、「誘惑に陥らないように祈っていなさい。」と言われた。
41 He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
そしてご自分は、弟子たちから石を投げて届くほどの所に離れて、ひざまずいて、こう祈られた。
42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
「父よ。みこころならば、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの願いではなく、みこころのとおりにしてください。」
43 An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
すると、御使いが天からイエスに現われて、イエスを力づけた。
44 Being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
イエスは、苦しみもだえて、いよいよ切に祈られた。汗が血のしずくのように地に落ちた。
45 When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief,
イエスは祈り終わって立ち上がり、弟子たちのところに来て見ると、彼らは悲しみの果てに、眠り込んでしまっていた。
46 and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
それで、彼らに言われた。「なぜ、眠っているのか。起きて、誘惑に陥らないように祈っていなさい。」
47 While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judah, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Yeshua to kiss him.
イエスがまだ話をしておられるとき、群衆がやって来た。十二弟子のひとりで、ユダという者が、先頭に立っていた。ユダはイエスに口づけしようとして、みもとに近づいた。
48 But Yeshua said to him, “Judah, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
だが、イエスは彼に、「ユダ。口づけで、人の子を裏切ろうとするのか。」と言われた。
49 When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
イエスの回りにいた者たちは、事の成り行きを見て、「主よ。剣で撃ちましょうか。」と言った。
50 A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
そしてそのうちのある者が、大祭司のしもべに撃ってかかり、その右の耳を切り落とした。
51 But Yeshua answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear and healed him.
するとイエスは、「やめなさい。それまで。」と言われた。そして、耳にさわって彼を直してやられた。
52 Yeshua said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
そして押しかけて来た祭司長、宮の守衛長、長老たちに言われた。「まるで強盗にでも向かうように、剣や棒を持ってやって来たのですか。
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
あなたがたは、わたしが毎日宮でいっしょにいる間は、わたしに手出しもしなかった。しかし、今はあなたがたの時です。暗やみの力です。」
54 They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
彼らはイエスを捕え、引いて行って、大祭司の家に連れて来た。ペテロは、遠く離れてついて行った。
55 When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat amongst them.
彼らは中庭の真中に火をたいて、みなすわり込んだので、ペテロも中に混じって腰をおろした。
56 A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
すると、女中が、火あかりの中にペテロのすわっているのを見つけ、まじまじと見て言った。「この人も、イエスといっしょにいました。」
57 He denied Yeshua, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
ところが、ペテロはそれを打ち消して、「いいえ、私はあの人を知りません。」と言った。
58 After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
しばらくして、ほかの男が彼を見て、「あなたも、彼らの仲間だ。」と言った。しかし、ペテロは、「いや、違います。」と言った。
59 After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
それから一時間ほどたつと、また別の男が、「確かにこの人も彼といっしょだった。この人もガリラヤ人だから。」と言い張った。
60 But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
しかしペテロは、「あなたの言うことは私にはわかりません。」と言った。それといっしょに、彼がまだ言い終えないうちに、鶏が鳴いた。
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
主が振り向いてペテロを見つめられた。ペテロは、「きょう、鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは、三度わたしを知らないと言う。」と言われた主のおことばを思い出した。
62 He went out, and wept bitterly.
彼は、外に出て、激しく泣いた。
63 The men who held Yeshua mocked him and beat him.
さて、イエスの監視人どもは、イエスをからかい、むちでたたいた。
64 Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
そして目隠しをして、「言い当ててみろ。今たたいたのはだれか。」と聞いたりした。
65 They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
また、そのほかさまざまな悪口をイエスに浴びせた。
66 As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
夜が明けると、民の長老会、それに祭司長、律法学者たちが、集まった。彼らはイエスを議会に連れ出し、
67 “If you are the Messiah, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
こう言った。「あなたがキリストなら、そうだと言いなさい。」しかしイエスは言われた。「わたしが言っても、あなたがたは決して信じないでしょうし、
68 and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
わたしが尋ねても、あなたがたは決して答えないでしょう。
69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
しかし今から後、人の子は、神の大能の右の座に着きます。」
70 They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
彼らはみなで言った。「ではあなたは神の子ですか。」すると、イエスは彼らに「あなたがたの言うとおり、わたしはそれです。」と言われた。
71 They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
すると彼らは「これでもまだ証人が必要でしょうか。私たち自身が彼の口から直接それを聞いたのだから。」と言った。
