Yochanan 3
1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Judeans.
Yahudiler'in Nikodim adlı bir önderi vardı. Ferisiler'den olan bu adam bir gece İsa'ya gelerek, “Rabbî, senin Tanrı'dan gelmiş bir öğretmen olduğunu biliyoruz. Çünkü Tanrı kendisiyle olmadıkça kimse senin yaptığın bu mucizeleri yapamaz” dedi.
2 He came to Yeshua by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
3 Yeshua answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
İsa ona şu karşılığı verdi: “Sana doğrusunu söyleyeyim, bir kimse yeniden doğmadıkça Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'ni göremez.”
4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Nikodim, “Yaşlanmış bir adam nasıl doğabilir? Annesinin rahmine ikinci kez girip doğabilir mi?” diye sordu.
5 Yeshua answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.
İsa şöyle yanıt verdi: “Sana doğrusunu söyleyeyim, bir kimse sudan ve Ruh'tan doğmadıkça Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'ne giremez.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Bedenden doğan bedendir, Ruh'tan doğan ruhtur.
7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’
Sana, ‘Yeniden doğmalısınız’ dediğime şaşma.
8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Yel dilediği yerde eser; sesini işitirsin, ama nereden gelip nereye gittiğini bilemezsin. Ruh'tan doğan herkes böyledir.”
9 Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
Nikodim İsa'ya, “Bunlar nasıl olabilir?” diye sordu.
10 Yeshua answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
İsa ona şöyle yanıt verdi: “Sen İsrail'in öğretmeni olduğun halde bunları anlamıyor musun?
11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
Sana doğrusunu söyleyeyim, biz bildiğimizi söylüyoruz, gördüğümüze tanıklık ediyoruz. Sizler ise bizim tanıklığımızı kabul etmiyorsunuz.
12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
Sizlere yeryüzüyle ilgili şeyleri söylediğim zaman inanmazsanız, gökle ilgili şeyleri söylediğimde nasıl inanacaksınız?
13 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
Gökten inmiş olan İnsanoğlu'ndan başka hiç kimse göğe çıkmamıştır.
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
Musa çölde yılanı nasıl yukarı kaldırdıysa, İnsanoğlu'nun da öylece yukarı kaldırılması gerekir.
Öyle ki, O'na iman eden herkes sonsuz yaşama kavuşsun. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
“Çünkü Tanrı dünyayı o kadar çok sevdi ki, biricik Oğlu'nu verdi. Öyle ki, O'na iman edenlerin hiçbiri mahvolmasın, hepsi sonsuz yaşama kavuşsun. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
Tanrı, Oğlu'nu dünyayı yargılamak için göndermedi, dünya O'nun aracılığıyla kurtulsun diye gönderdi.
18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
O'na iman eden yargılanmaz, iman etmeyen ise zaten yargılanmıştır. Çünkü Tanrı'nın biricik Oğlu'nun adına iman etmemiştir.
19 This is the judgement, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.
Yargı da şudur: Dünyaya ışık geldi, ama insanlar ışık yerine karanlığı sevdiler. Çünkü yaptıkları işler kötüydü.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
Kötülük yapan herkes ışıktan nefret eder ve yaptıkları açığa çıkmasın diye ışığa yaklaşmaz.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Ama gerçeği uygulayan kişi yaptıklarını, Tanrı'ya dayanarak yaptığını göstermek için ışığa gelir.”
22 After these things, Yeshua came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them and immersed.
Bundan sonra İsa'yla öğrencileri Yahudiye diyarına gittiler. İsa onlarla birlikte orada bir süre kalarak vaftiz etti.
23 Yochanan also was immersing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came and were immersed;
Yahya da Salim yakınındaki Aynon'da vaftiz ediyordu. Çünkü orada bol su vardı. İnsanlar gelip vaftiz oluyorlardı.
24 for Yochanan was not yet thrown into prison.
Yahya henüz hapse atılmamıştı.
25 Therefore a dispute arose on the part of Yochanan’s disciples with some Judeans about purification.
O sıralarda Yahya'nın öğrencileriyle bir Yahudi arasında temizlenme konusunda bir tartışma çıktı.
26 They came to Yochanan and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he immerses, and everyone is coming to him.”
Öğrencileri Yahya'ya gelerek, “Rabbî” dediler, “Şeria Irmağı'nın karşı yakasında birlikte olduğun ve kendisi için tanıklık ettiğin adam var ya, işte O vaftiz ediyor, herkes de O'na gidiyor.”
27 Yochanan answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
Yahya şöyle yanıt verdi: “İnsan, kendisine gökten verilmedikçe hiçbir şey alamaz.
28 You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
‘Ben Mesih değilim, ama O'nun öncüsü olarak gönderildim’ dediğime siz kendiniz tanıksınız.
29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore my joy is made full.
Gelin kiminse, güvey odur. Ama güveyin yanında duran ve onu dinleyen dostu onun sesini işitince çok sevinir. İşte benim sevincim böylece tamamlandı.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
O büyümeli, bense küçülmeliyim.”
31 “He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Yukarıdan gelen, herkesten üstündür. Dünyadan olan dünyaya aittir ve dünyadan söz eder. Gökten gelen ise, herkesten üstündür.
32 What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
Ne görmüş ne işitmişse ona tanıklık eder, ama tanıklığını kimse kabul etmez.
33 He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
O'nun tanıklığını kabul eden, Tanrı'nın gerçek olduğuna mührünü basmıştır.
34 For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
Tanrı'nın gönderdiği kişi Tanrı'nın sözlerini söyler. Çünkü Tanrı, Ruh'u ölçüyle vermez.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
Baba Oğul'u sever; her şeyi O'na teslim etmiştir.
