< Yochanan 2 >

1 The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Yeshua’s mother was there.
On the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and Jesus' mother was there.
2 Yeshua also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.
Now both Jesus and His disciples had been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine ran out, Yeshua’s mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
So when the wine had given out, Jesus' mother says to Him, “They don't have any wine!”
4 Yeshua said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
Jesus says to her: “What is that to you and me, woman? My time has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
His mother says to the servants, “Do whatever He may tell you.”
6 Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.
(Now there were six stone waterpots set there, according to the purification rites of the Jews, containing 20 or 30 gallons each.)
7 Yeshua said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.
Jesus says to them, “Fill the pots with water.” So they filled them to the brim.
8 He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
So He says to them, “Now, draw some out and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So they took it.
9 When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom
Well, when the master of ceremonies tasted the water that had become wine—he did not know where it came from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew—he calls the bridegroom
10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
and says to him: “Everybody serves the good wine first, then, when people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This beginning of his signs Yeshua did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
This, the first of the miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee and revealed His glory; and His disciples believed into Him.
12 After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
After this He went down to Capernaum—He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples—but they did not stay there many days.
13 The Passover in Judea was at hand, and Yeshua went up to Jerusalem.
Now the Jewish Passover was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
And in the Temple He found people selling oxen and sheep and doves, also the moneychangers at work.
15 He made a whip of cords and drove all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money and overthrew their tables.
When He had made a scourge out of cords, He drove all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and as for the moneychangers, He overturned the tables and scattered the coins.
16 To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
And to the dove-sellers He said: “Get these things out of here! Stop turning my Father's House into a marketplace!”
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”
Then His disciples remembered that it stands written, “Zeal for Your House consumes me.”
18 The Judeans therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do you show us, since you do these things?”
19 Yeshua answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it.”
20 The Judeans therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
So the Jews said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and you will raise it in three days?!”
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
But He was speaking about the temple of His body.
22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Yeshua had said.
Therefore, when He was raised from among the dead His disciples remembered that He had said this; so they believed the Scripture, even the word that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
Now while He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed into His name, observing the signs that He was doing.
24 But Yeshua didn’t entrust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
But as for Jesus Himself, He did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all men
25 and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
and that He had no need that anyone should testify about man, because He Himself knew what was in man.
