Yochanan 11
1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Miriam and her sister, Martha.
லாசரு என்னும் ஒருவன் வியாதியாயிருந்தான். அவன் பெத்தானியா ஊரைச் சேர்ந்தவன். அவன் அங்கே தனது சகோதரிகளான மரியாளுடனும் மார்த்தாளுடனும் வாழ்ந்து வந்தான்.
2 It was that Miriam who had anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
வியாதியாய் இருக்கிற லாசருவின் சகோதரியான இந்த மரியாளே, பின்பு கர்த்தர்மேல் நறுமண தைலத்தை ஊற்றி அவருடைய பாதங்களைத் தன்னுடைய தலைமுடியினால் துடைத்தவள்.
3 The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, “Lord, behold, he for whom you have great affection is sick.”
லாசருவின் சகோதரிகள், “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் நேசிக்கிறவன் வியாதியாக இருக்கிறான்” என்ற செய்தியை அனுப்பினார்கள்.
4 But when Yeshua heard it, he said, “This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God’s Son may be glorified by it.”
இயேசு இதைக் கேட்டபோது அவர், “இந்த வியாதி மரணத்தில் முடிவடையாது. இது இறைவனுடைய மகிமைக்காகவும், இதன் மூலமாக மானிடமகனும் மகிமைப்படுவார்” என்றார்.
5 Now Yeshua loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
இயேசு மார்த்தாளிடமும், அவளுடைய சகோதரியிடமும், லாசருவிடமும் அன்பாயிருந்தார்.
6 When therefore he heard that he was sick, he stayed two days in the place where he was.
ஆனால் லாசரு வியாதியாயிருக்கிறான் என்று அவர் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, தாம் இருந்த இடத்தில் இன்னும் இரண்டு நாள் தங்கியிருந்தார்.
7 Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let’s go into Judea again.”
பின்பு இயேசு தமது சீடர்களிடம், “மீண்டும் நாம் யூதேயாவுக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள்” என்றார்.
8 The disciples asked him, “Rabbi, the Judeans were just trying to stone you. Are you going there again?”
ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “போதகரே, சற்று முன்னதாகத் தான் யூதர்கள் உம்மேல் கல்லெறிய முயன்றார்கள். மீண்டும் அங்குப் போகிறீரா?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
9 Yeshua answered, “Aren’t there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he doesn’t stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
இயேசு அதற்கு மறுமொழியாக, “பகலுக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு மணிநேரம் இருக்கின்றதல்லவா? பகல் வேளையில் நடக்கிறவன் உலகத்தின் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காண்கிறதால், அவன் இடறிவிழமாட்டான்.
10 But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn’t in him.”
அவன் இரவில் நடக்கிறபோது அவனுக்கு வெளிச்சம் இல்லாதபடியால், அவன் இடறிவிழுகிறான்” என்றார்.
11 He said these things, and after that, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.”
இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மேலும் சொன்னதாவது: “நம்முடைய சிநேகிதன் லாசரு நித்திரையாயிருக்கிறான்; நான் அங்கேபோய் அவனை எழுப்பப்போகிறேன்” என்றார்.
12 The disciples therefore said, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”
சீடர்கள் அதற்கு மறுமொழியாக, “போதகரே, அவன் நித்திரையாயிருந்தால் அவன் சுகமடைவான்” என்றார்கள்.
13 Now Yeshua had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.
இயேசு அவனுடைய மரணத்தைக் குறித்துப் பேசினார். அவருடைய சீடர்களோ இயல்பான நித்திரையைக் குறித்தே அவர் சொன்னார் என்று நினைத்தார்கள்.
14 So Yeshua said to them plainly then, “Lazarus is dead.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “லாசரு இறந்துவிட்டான்” என்று வெளிப்படையாக அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லி,
15 I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let’s go to him.”
“நான் அங்கே இல்லாததைக் குறித்து, உங்கள் நிமித்தம் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் விசுவாசிப்பதற்கு அது உதவியாயிருக்கும். நாம் அவனிடம் போவோம் வாருங்கள்” என்றார்.
16 Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s also go, that we may die with him.”
அப்பொழுது திதிமு எனப்பட்ட தோமா மற்றச் சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நாமும் சாகும்படி அவருடன் போவோம், வாருங்கள்” என்றான்.
17 So when Yeshua came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.
இயேசு வந்து சேர்ந்தபோது, லாசரு கல்லறையில் வைக்கப்பட்டு ஏற்கெனவே நான்கு நாட்களாகிவிட்டன என்று கண்டார்.
18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away.
பெத்தானியா எருசலேமில் இருந்து இரண்டு மைல்களுக்கும் குறைவான தூரத்திலேயே இருந்தது.
19 Many of the Judeans had joined the women around Martha and Miriam, to console them concerning their brother.
இறந்துபோன அவர்களுடைய சகோதரனின் நிமித்தம், மார்த்தாளுக்கும் மரியாளுக்கும் ஆறுதல் சொல்வதற்கு அநேக யூதர்கள் அங்கே வந்திருந்தார்கள்.
20 Then when Martha heard that Yeshua was coming, she went and met him, but Miriam stayed in the house.
இயேசு வருகிறார் என்று மார்த்தாள் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவரைச் சந்திப்பதற்கு அவள் புறப்பட்டுப் போனாள். ஆனால் மரியாளோ வீட்டிலேயே இருந்துவிட்டாள்.
21 Therefore Martha said to Yeshua, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.
மார்த்தாள் இயேசுவைப் பார்த்து, “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் இங்கே இருந்திருந்தால், எனது சகோதரன் மரித்திருக்கமாட்டான்.
22 Even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”
இப்பொழுதும்கூட நீர் கேட்பது எதுவோ அதை இறைவன் உமக்குக் கொடுப்பார் என்று நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்” என்றாள்.
23 Yeshua said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து, “உன்னுடைய சகோதரன் மீண்டும் உயிருடன் எழுந்திருப்பான்” என்றார்.
24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
அதற்கு மார்த்தாள், “கடைசி நாளில் நடைபெறும் உயிர்த்தெழுதலில் அவன் உயிரோடு எழுந்திருப்பான் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியும்” என்றாள்.
25 Yeshua said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவளிடம், “உயிரும், உயிர்த்தெழுதலும் நானே. என்னில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவன், மரித்தாலும் உயிர்வாழ்வான்.
உயிரோடிருந்து என்னில் விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் எவனும் ஒருநாளும் மரிக்கமாட்டான். நீ இதை விசுவாசிக்கிறாயா?” என்று கேட்டார். (aiōn g165)
27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, God’s Son, he who comes into the world.”
அதற்கு அவள், “ஆம் ஆண்டவரே, நீர் இறைவனின் மகன், உலகத்திற்கு வருகிற கிறிஸ்து. நான் இதை விசுவாசிக்கிறேன்” என்றாள்.
28 When she had said this, she went away and called Miriam, her sister, secretly, saying, “The Rabbi is here and is calling you.”
அவள் இதைச் சொன்னபின்பு திரும்பிப்போய். தன்னுடைய சகோதரி மரியாளை இரகசியமாகக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், “போதகர் வந்து இருக்கிறார். அவர் உன்னைக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்” என்றாள்.
29 When she heard this, she arose quickly and went to him.
மரியாள் இதைக் கேட்டபோது, விரைவாய் எழுந்து அவரிடம் போனாள்.
30 Now Yeshua had not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha met him.
இயேசு இன்னும் கிராமத்திற்குள் வராமல், தான் மார்த்தாளைச் சந்தித்த இடத்திலேயே இருந்தார்.
31 Then the Judeans who were with her in the house and were consoling her, when they saw Miriam, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, “She is going to the tomb to weep there.”
வீட்டிலே மரியாளுடன் இருந்து அவளுக்கு ஆறுதல் கூறிய யூதர்கள், அவள் விரைவாய் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டுப் போகிறதைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்களும் அவள் பின்னே சென்றார்கள். அவள் அழுவதற்காக கல்லறைக்குப் போகிறாள் என்றே அவர்கள் நினைத்தார்கள்.
32 Therefore when Miriam came to where Yeshua was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.”
இயேசு இருந்த இடத்திற்கு மரியாள் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தபோது, அவள் அவரைக்கண்டு, அவருடைய பாதத்தில் விழுந்து, “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் இங்கே இருந்திருந்தால், என்னுடைய சகோதரன் மரித்திருக்கமாட்டான்” என்றாள்.
33 When Yeshua therefore saw her weeping, and the Judeans weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was troubled,
அவள் அழுவதையும், அவளுடன் வந்திருந்த யூதர்கள் அழுவதையும் இயேசு கண்டபோது, அவர் ஆவியில் கலங்கி, துயரமடைந்து,
34 and said, “Where have you laid him?” They told him, “Lord, come and see.”
“அவனை எங்கே வைத்திருக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள், “ஆண்டவரே வாரும், வந்துபாரும்” என்றார்கள்.
35 Yeshua wept.
இயேசு கண்ணீர்விட்டார்.
36 The Judeans therefore said, “See how much affection he had for him!”
அதைக்கண்ட யூதர்கள், “பாருங்கள், இவர் லாசருமீது எவ்வளவு அன்பாயிருந்தார்!” என்றார்கள்.
37 Some of them said, “Couldn’t this man, who opened the eyes of him who was blind, have also kept this man from dying?”
ஆனால் அவர்களில் சிலரோ, “பார்வையற்றவனுடைய கண்களைத் திறந்த இவர், அவனைச் சாகாமல் காத்திருக்கலாமே?” என்றார்கள்.
38 Yeshua therefore, again groaning in himself, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
இயேசு மீண்டும் துயரமுடையவராய் கல்லறைக்கு வந்தார். அது ஒரு குகையாய் இருந்தது. அதன் வாசலிலே ஒரு கல் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
39 Yeshua said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
இயேசு அங்கு நின்றவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “அந்தக் கல்லை அகற்றுங்கள்” என்றார். அப்பொழுது இறந்தவனுடைய சகோதரியாகிய மார்த்தாள், “ஆண்டவரே, இப்பொழுது அது நாற்றம் வீசுமே. அங்கே, அவனை வைத்து நான்கு நாட்கள் ஆயிற்றே” என்றாள்.
40 Yeshua said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see God’s glory?”
அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “நீ விசுவாசித்தால், இறைவனுடைய மகிமையைக் காண்பாய் என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லவில்லையா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
41 So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Yeshua lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me.
எனவே அவர்கள் அந்தக் கல்லை அகற்றினார்கள். இயேசு அண்ணார்ந்து பார்த்து, “பிதாவே, நீர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்துக் கேட்டபடியால் உமக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன்.
42 I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude standing around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me.”
நீர் எப்பொழுதும் எனக்கு செவிகொடுக்கிறீர் என்பதை நான் அறிவேன். ஆனால் இங்கு நிற்கிற மக்கள் நீரே என்னை அனுப்பினீர் என்று விசுவாசிக்கும்படி இதைச் சொன்னேன்” என்றார்.
43 When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
இயேசு இதைச் சொன்னபின்பு, அவனை உரத்த குரலில், “லாசருவே, வெளியே வா!” என்று கூப்பிட்டார்.
44 He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Yeshua said to them, “Free him, and let him go.”
மரித்துபோனவன் வெளியே வந்தான். அவனுடைய கைகளும் கால்களும் மென்பட்டு துணிகளால் சுற்றப்பட்டிருந்தன. அவனுடைய முகத்தைச் சுற்றியும் ஒரு துணி கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது. இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “பிரேதத் துணிகளை அவிழ்த்து அவனைப் போகவிடுங்கள்” என்றார்.
45 Therefore many of the Judeans who came to Miriam and saw what Yeshua did believed in him.
மரியாளைச் சந்திக்க வந்திருந்த பல யூதர்கள் இயேசு செய்ததைக் கண்டு அவரில் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள்.
46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things which Yeshua had done.
ஆனால் அவர்களில் சிலர் பரிசேயரிடத்தில் போய், இயேசு செய்ததைக் குறித்துச் சொன்னார்கள்.
47 The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, “What are we doing? For this man does many signs.
அப்பொழுது தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும் பரிசேயரும் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தைக் கூட்டினார்கள். அவர்கள், “நாம் என்ன செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறோம்? இதோ இவன் பல அடையாளங்களைச் செய்கிறானே.
48 If we leave him alone like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”
நாம் இப்படியே இவனைப் போகவிட்டால், எல்லோரும் இவனில் விசுவாசம் வைப்பார்கள். அப்பொழுது ரோமர்கள் வந்து நமது ஆலயத்தையும், நமது ஜனத்தையும் அழித்துப்போடுவார்களே” என்றார்கள்.
49 But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all,
அப்பொழுது அந்த வருடத்துப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனான காய்பா எனப்பட்ட ஒருவன் அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் எதுவுமே தெரியாதவர்களாய் இருக்கிறீர்களே.
50 nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”
மக்கள் அழிவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், மக்களுக்காக ஒருவன் சாவது நல்லது என்று நீங்கள் புரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்றான்.
51 Now he didn’t say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yeshua would die for the nation,
இதை அவன் தன்னுடைய சுயமாகச் சிந்தித்துச் சொல்லவில்லை. அந்த வருடத்துப் பிரதான ஆசாரியன் என்ற வகையில் யூத மக்களுக்காக இயேசு மரிக்கப்போகிறார் என்று இறைவாக்காகவே இதைச் சொன்னான்.
52 and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்காக மாத்திரமல்ல, சிதறி இருக்கும் இறைவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளை ஒன்றுச் சேர்க்கும்படியும் மரிக்கப்போகிறார் என்பதை அவன் சொன்னான்.
53 So from that day forward they took counsel that they might put him to death.
எனவே அன்றிலிருந்து அவர்கள் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்குச் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தார்கள்.
54 Yeshua therefore walked no more openly amongst the Judeans, but departed from there into the country near the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim. He stayed there with his disciples.
ஆகவே இயேசு தொடர்ந்து யூதர்கள் மத்தியிலே வெளிப்படையாக நடமாடவில்லை. அவர் பாலைவனத்தின் அருகே உள்ள பகுதிக்குப் போய், அங்கே எப்பிராயீம் எனப்பட்ட ஒரு கிராமத்தில் தம்முடைய சீடர்களுடனே தங்கினார்.
55 Now the Passover in Judea was at hand. Many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.
யூதர்களுடைய பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகைக் காலம் நெருங்கி வந்தது. அப்பொழுது பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகைக்கு முன்னதாகவே தங்களுடைய சுத்திகரிப்பைச் செய்துகொள்ளும்படி, அநேகர் நாட்டுப் புறத்திலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
56 Then they sought for Yeshua and spoke with one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think—that he isn’t coming to the feast at all?”
அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப் பார்க்க விரும்பித்தேடினார்கள். அவர்கள் ஆலயப் பகுதியில் நின்றுகொண்டு ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து, “நீங்கள் என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்? இந்தப் பண்டிகைக்கு அவர் வருவாரா?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
57 Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had commanded that if anyone knew where he was, he should report it, that they might seize him.
ஆனால் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும் பரிசேயர்களும் யாராவது இயேசு இருக்கும் இடத்தை அறிந்தால், அவரைக் கைதுசெய்யும்படி அதைத் தங்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்க வேண்டும் என்று உத்தரவிட்டிருந்தார்கள்.
