< Jeremiah 12 >

1 You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would like to plead a case with you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
Aw Angraeng, nang khaeah lok ka thuih kruek, na toenghaih amtueng; toe tipongah kasae kaminawk hoi oep thok ai kaminawk to khosak hoih o lat loe? tiah lokdueng han ka tawnh.
2 You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
Nangmah ni nihcae to na thling, ue, tangzun na caksak moe, a qoeng o tahang, ue, athaih athaih o; nang loe nihcae pakha taengah na oh, toe palung hoi loe nang thla taak.
3 But you, LORD, know me. You see me, and test my heart towards you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
Toe Angraeng, kai hae nang panoek; kai hae nang hnuk, palung thungah ka poek ih hmuen doeh nang panoek pae; boh han kaom tuunawk to pathok baktiah, kahoih ai kaminawk to pathok ah; nihcae to humhaih ni phak naah hum hanah pahoe ah.
4 How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals and birds are consumed; because they said, “He won’t see our latter end.”
Prae thungah kaom kaminawk ih zaehaih pongah, prae loe nasetto maw palungna panoek vop ueloe, taw ih phrohnawk doeh nasetto maw zaek o vop tih? Ka zae o haih Sithaw mah hnu mak ai, tiah kaminawk mah thuih o. Nihcae zaehaih pongah, moisan hoi tavaanawk doeh anghmat o boih boeh.
5 “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
6 For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
7 “I have forsaken my house. I have cast off my heritage. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
Kaimah ih im to ka pahnawt sut boeh; kaimah ih qawk doeh ka caehtaak boeh; ka palung duek ih ka hinghaih loe a misanawk ban ah ka paek boeh.
8 My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest. She has uttered her voice against me. Therefore I have hated her.
Kai ih qawk loe taw ih kaipui baktiah ni oh boeh; anih mah kai ang hang thuih; to pongah ka hnukma.
9 Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.
Kai ih qawk loe moi kacaa tavaa baktiah oh; anih taengah kaom tavaanawk mah anih to patuk o; taw ih moinawk boih angzoh o moe, nawnto angpop o pacoengah, anih ih moi to caak hanah thui paeh.
10 Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
Pop parai kami zaehoikungnawk mah kai ih misur takha to phraek o, kai ih taham to khok tlim ah cawh o moe, kahoih parai kai ih taham to, kapong sut praezaek ah oh o sak boeh.
11 They have made it a desolation. It mourns to me, being desolate. The whole land is made desolate, because no one cares.
Nihcae mah paro o moe, palungnat hoiah kai khaeah a qah o; khenzawn kami mi doeh om ai pongah, prae boih pong sut boeh.
12 Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of the LORD devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh has peace.
Paro kaminawk loe praezaek hoiah hmuensang nui boih ah angzoh o: prae boenghaih maeto hoi maeto bang khoek to, Angraeng ih sumsen mah paaeh boih tih; mi doeh monghaih tawn o mak ai.
13 They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns. They have exhausted themselves, and profit nothing. You will be ashamed of your fruits, because of the LORD’s fierce anger.”
Cang to na tuh o tih, toe soekhring ni aat o tih; tha naa o parai tih, toe tidoeh hak o mak ai; Angraeng palungphui parai pongah, nihcae mah azathaih ni aat o tih.
14 The LORD says, “Concerning all my evil neighbours, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from amongst them.
Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; Kai ih kami Israelnawk khaeah toep han ka paek ih qawk la kami, kahoih ai ka imtaeng kaminawk boih, khenah, a prae thung hoiah ka phongh han, nihcae thung hoiah Judah imthung takoh to ka phongh han.
15 It will happen that after I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them. I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
Toe nihcae to ka phongh pacoengah, nihcae nuiah tahmenhaih ka tawnh let moe, kami boih angmacae qawktoephaih ahmuen hoi angmacae prae ah ka hoih let han.
16 It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the LORD lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.
Nihcae loe Baal bok hanah kai ih kaminawk to patuk o; toe nihcae mah vaihi Kai ih ahmin hoiah Angraeng loe hing, tiah lokkamhaih sah o moe, kahoih kai kaminawk ih tuinuen to amtuk o nahaeloe, nihcae to kaimah ih kaminawk salakah ka caksak han.
17 But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,” says the LORD.
Toe nihcae mah ka lok tahngai o ai nahaeloe, nihcae to prae thung hoiah ka phongh moe, kam rosak boih han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
