< Hebrews 4 >

1 Let’s fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.
Nítorí náà, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run ti ṣe ìlérí àtiwọ inú ìsinmi rẹ̀ fún wa, ẹ jẹ́ kí á bẹ̀rù, kí ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín má ba à dàbí ẹni pé ó tí kùnà rẹ̀.
2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard.
Nítorí tí àwa gbọ́ ìwàásù ìyìnrere, gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti wàásù rẹ̀ fún àwọn náà pẹ̀lú, ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀rọ̀ tí wọ́n gbọ́ kò ṣe wọ́n ní àǹfààní, nítorí tí kò dàpọ̀ mọ́ ìgbàgbọ́ nínú àwọn tí ó gbọ́ ọ.
3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Nítorí pé àwa tí ó ti gbàgbọ́ wọ inú ìsinmi gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó tí wí, “Bí mo tí búra nínú ìbínú mi, ‘Wọn kì yóò wọ inú ìsinmi mi.’” Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé a tí parí iṣẹ́ wọ̀nyí láti ìpìlẹ̀ ayé.
4 For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works;”
Nítorí ó ti sọ níbìkan ní ti ọjọ́ keje báyìí pé, “Ọlọ́run sì sinmi ní ọjọ́ keje kúrò nínú iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ gbogbo.”
5 and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.”
Àti níhìn-ín yìí pẹ̀lú ó wí pé, “Wọn kì yóò wọ inú ìsinmi mi.”
6 Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter into it, and they to whom the good news was preached before failed to enter in because of disobedience,
Nítorí náà bí ó tí jẹ́ pé, ó ku kí àwọn kan wọ inú rẹ̀, àti àwọn tí a ti wàásù ìyìnrere náà fún ní ìṣáájú kò wọ inú rẹ̀ nítorí àìgbọ́ràn.
7 he again defines a certain day, “today”, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”
Àti pé, ó yan ọjọ́ kan, ó wí nínú ìwé Dafidi pé, “Lónìí,” lẹ́yìn ìgbà pípẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀; bí a tí wí níṣàájú, “Lónìí bí ẹ̀yin bá gbọ́ ohùn rẹ̀, ẹ má ṣe sé ọkàn yín le.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
Nítorí, ìbá ṣe pé Joṣua tí fún wọn ní ìsinmi, òun kì bá tí sọ̀rọ̀ nípa ọjọ́ ìsinmi mìíràn lẹ́yìn náà,
9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
nítorí náà ìsinmi kan kù fún àwọn ènìyàn Ọlọ́run.
10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
Nítorí pé ẹni tí ó ba bọ́ sínú ìsinmi rẹ̀, òun pẹ̀lú sinmi kúrò nínú iṣẹ́ tirẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run ti sinmi kúrò nínú iṣẹ́ tirẹ̀.
11 Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.
Nítorí náà, ẹ jẹ́ kí á múra gírí láti wọ inú ìsinmi náà, kí ẹnikẹ́ni má ba à ṣubú nípa irú àìgbàgbọ́ kan náà.
12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Nítorí ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run yè, ó sì ní agbára, ó sì mu ju idàkídà olójú méjì lọ, ó sì ń gún ni, àní títí dé pínpín ọkàn àti ẹ̀mí ní yà, àti ní oríkèé àti ọ̀rá inú egungun, òun sì ni olùmọ̀ èrò inú àti ète ọkàn.
13 There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
Kò sí ẹ̀dá kan tí kò farahàn níwájú rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ohun gbogbo ni ó wà níhòhò tí a sì ṣípáyà fún ojú rẹ̀, níwájú ẹni tí àwa yóò jíyìn.
14 Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession.
Ǹjẹ́ bí a ti ní olórí àlùfáà ńlá kan, tí ó ti la àwọn ọ̀run kọjá lọ, Jesu Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, ẹ jẹ́ kí a di ìjẹ́wọ́ wa mú ṣinṣin.
15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
Nítorí a kò ní olórí àlùfáà tí kò lè ṣàì ba ni kẹ́dùn nínú àìlera wa, ẹni tí a ti dánwò lọ́nà gbogbo gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwa, ṣùgbọ́n òun kò dẹ́ṣẹ̀.
16 Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
Nítorí náà, ẹ jẹ́ kí a wá si ibi ìtẹ́ oore-ọ̀fẹ́ pẹ̀lú ìgboyà, kí a lè rí àánú gbà, kí a sì rí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ láti máa ran ni lọ́wọ́ ní àkókò tí ó wọ̀.
