Esther 10

1 King Ahasuerus laid a tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea.

Und der König Ahasveros legte dem Festland und den Inseln des Meers einen Tribut auf.

2 Aren’t all the acts of his power and of his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

Und alle Erweise seiner Macht und Stärke und die genaue Schilderung der hohen Würde Mardachais, zu der ihn der König erhob, das alles ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Medien und Persien.

3 For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus, and great amongst the Jews and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his descendants.

Denn der Jude Mardachai hatte den zweiten Rang unmittelbar nach dem König Ahasveros und stand in hohem Ansehen bei den Juden und war beliebt bei seinen sämtlichen Volksgenossen, da er das Heil seines Volkes suchte und für sein ganzes Geschlecht zum Besten redete.
