Colossians 1

1 Paul, an emissary of Messiah Yeshua through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

IzvarasyEcchayA yIzukhrISTasya prEritaH paulastImathiyO bhrAtA ca kalasInagarasthAn pavitrAn vizvastAn khrISTAzritabhrAtRn prati patraM likhataH|

2 to the holy ones and faithful brothers in Messiah at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

asmAkaM tAta IzvaraH prabhu ryIzukhrISTazca yuSmAn prati prasAdaM zAntinjca kriyAstAM|

3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, praying always for you,

khrISTE yIzau yuSmAkaM vizvAsasya sarvvAn pavitralOkAn prati prEmnazca vArttAM zrutvA

4 having heard of your faith in Messiah Yeshua and of the love which you have towards all the holy ones,

vayaM sadA yuSmadarthaM prArthanAM kurvvantaH svargE nihitAyA yuSmAkaM bhAvisampadaH kAraNAt svakIyaprabhO ryIzukhrISTasya tAtam IzvaraM dhanyaM vadAmaH|

5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News

yUyaM tasyA bhAvisampadO vArttAM yayA susaMvAdarUpiNyA satyavANyA jnjApitAH

6 which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,

sA yadvat kRsnaM jagad abhigacchati tadvad yuSmAn apyabhyagamat, yUyanjca yad dinam ArabhyEzvarasyAnugrahasya vArttAM zrutvA satyarUpENa jnjAtavantastadArabhya yuSmAkaM madhyE'pi phalati varddhatE ca|

7 even as you learnt from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Messiah on your behalf,

asmAkaM priyaH sahadAsO yuSmAkaM kRtE ca khrISTasya vizvastaparicArakO ya ipaphrAstad vAkyaM

8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

yuSmAn AdiSTavAn sa EvAsmAn AtmanA janitaM yuSmAkaM prEma jnjApitavAn|

9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

vayaM yad dinam Arabhya tAM vArttAM zrutavantastadArabhya nirantaraM yuSmAkaM kRtE prArthanAM kurmmaH phalatO yUyaM yat pUrNAbhyAm AtmikajnjAnavuddhibhyAm IzvarasyAbhitamaM sampUrNarUpENAvagacchEta,

10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,

prabhO ryOgyaM sarvvathA santOSajanakanjcAcAraM kuryyAtArthata IzvarajnjAnE varddhamAnAH sarvvasatkarmmarUpaM phalaM phalEta,

11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,

yathA cEzvarasya mahimayuktayA zaktyA sAnandEna pUrNAM sahiSNutAM titikSAnjcAcarituM zakSyatha tAdRzEna pUrNabalEna yad balavantO bhavEta,

12 giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the holy ones in light,

yazca pitA tEjOvAsinAM pavitralOkAnAm adhikArasyAMzitvAyAsmAn yOgyAn kRtavAn taM yad dhanyaM vadEta varam EnaM yAcAmahE|

13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,

yataH sO'smAn timirasya karttRtvAd uddhRtya svakIyasya priyaputrasya rAjyE sthApitavAn|

14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.

tasmAt putrAd vayaM paritrANam arthataH pApamOcanaM prAptavantaH|

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

sa cAdRzyasyEzvarasya pratimUrtiH kRtsnAyAH sRSTErAdikarttA ca|

16 For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.

yataH sarvvamEva tEna sasRjE siMhAsanarAjatvaparAkramAdIni svargamarttyasthitAni dRzyAdRzyAni vastUni sarvvANi tEnaiva tasmai ca sasRjirE|

17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.

sa sarvvESAm AdiH sarvvESAM sthitikArakazca|

18 He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.

sa Eva samitirUpAyAstanO rmUrddhA kinjca sarvvaviSayE sa yad agriyO bhavEt tadarthaM sa Eva mRtAnAM madhyAt prathamata utthitO'grazca|

19 For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,

yata Izvarasya kRtsnaM pUrNatvaM tamEvAvAsayituM

20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.

kruzE pAtitEna tasya raktEna sandhiM vidhAya tEnaiva svargamarttyasthitAni sarvvANi svEna saha sandhApayitunjcEzvarENAbhilESE|

21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil deeds,

pUrvvaM dUrasthA duSkriyAratamanaskatvAt tasya ripavazcAsta yE yUyaM tAn yuSmAn api sa idAnIM tasya mAMsalazarIrE maraNEna svEna saha sandhApitavAn|

22 yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him,

yataH sa svasammukhE pavitrAn niSkalagkAn anindanIyAMzca yuSmAn sthApayitum icchati|

23 if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.

kintvEtadarthaM yuSmAbhi rbaddhamUlaiH susthiraizca bhavitavyam, AkAzamaNPalasyAdhaHsthitAnAM sarvvalOkAnAM madhyE ca ghuSyamANO yaH susaMvAdO yuSmAbhirazrAvi tajjAtAyAM pratyAzAyAM yuSmAbhiracalai rbhavitavyaM|

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Messiah in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,

tasya susaMvAdasyaikaH paricArakO yO'haM paulaH sO'ham idAnIm AnandEna yuSmadarthaM duHkhAni sahE khrISTasya klEzabhOgasya yOMzO'pUrNastamEva tasya tanOH samitEH kRtE svazarIrE pUrayAmi ca|

25 of which I was made a servant according to the stewardship of God which was given me towards you to fulfil the word of God,

yata Izvarasya mantraNayA yuSmadartham IzvarIyavAkyasya pracArasya bhArO mayi samapitastasmAd ahaM tasyAH samitEH paricArakO'bhavaM|

26 the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his holy ones, (aiōn g165)

tat nigUPhaM vAkyaM pUrvvayugESu pUrvvapuruSEbhyaH pracchannam AsIt kintvidAnIM tasya pavitralOkAnAM sannidhau tEna prAkAzyata| (aiōn g165)

27 to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery amongst the Gentiles, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory.

yatO bhinnajAtIyAnAM madhyE tat nigUPhavAkyaM kIdRggauravanidhisambalitaM tat pavitralOkAn jnjApayitum IzvarO'bhyalaSat| yuSmanmadhyavarttI khrISTa Eva sa nidhi rgairavAzAbhUmizca|

28 We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Messiah Yeshua;

tasmAd vayaM tamEva ghOSayantO yad EkaikaM mAnavaM siddhIbhUtaM khrISTE sthApayEma tadarthamEkaikaM mAnavaM prabOdhayAmaH pUrNajnjAnEna caikaikaM mAnavaM upadizAmaH|

29 for which I also labour, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

EtadarthaM tasya yA zaktiH prabalarUpENa mama madhyE prakAzatE tayAhaM yatamAnaH zrAbhyAmi|
