Colossians 2

1 For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

നിങ്ങൾക്കും ലവൊദിക്യയിലുള്ളവർക്കും എന്നെ അഭിമുഖമായി കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത എല്ലാവർക്കുംവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എത്രയധികം പോരാടുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

2 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Messiah,

സർവ ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും വിവേകത്തിന്റെയും നിധികൾ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവരഹസ്യമായ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവർക്ക് അറിയാൻ കഴിയേണ്ടതിന് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പരിപൂർണനിശ്ചയം സമൃദ്ധമായി ലഭിക്കാൻ, അവർ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉത്സാഹമുള്ളവരും സ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഏകീഭവിച്ചവരും ആകണം എന്നാണ് ഞാൻ അഭിലഷിക്കുന്നത്.

3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

കാരണം, എല്ലാ ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

4 Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

പ്രലോഭനവാക്കുകളാൽ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വഞ്ചിക്കാതിരിക്കാനാണ് ഞാൻ ഇതു പറയുന്നത്.

5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Messiah.

ശാരീരികമായി അകലെയാണെങ്കിലും മനസ്സുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പമുണ്ട്. ഇപ്രകാരം നിങ്ങളുടെ ചിട്ടയായ ജീവിതവും ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥിരതയും കണ്ട് ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

6 As therefore you received Messiah Yeshua the Lord, walk in him,

ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെ നിങ്ങൾ കർത്താവായി സ്വീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അവിടത്തോടുള്ള കൂട്ടായ്മയിൽ ജീവിക്കുക.

7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.

ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ വേരുകൾ ആഴത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലട്ടെ; ക്രിസ്തുവെന്ന അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിന്മേലായിരിക്കട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം പണിതുയർത്തുന്നത്. നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുപോലെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ ഉറച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളിൽ സ്തോത്രം നിറഞ്ഞുകവിയട്ടെ.

8 Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Messiah.

തത്ത്വജ്ഞാനവും അർഥശൂന്യവും വഞ്ചന നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ മാനുഷികപാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളുംകൊണ്ട് ആരും നിങ്ങളെ അടിമപ്പെടുത്താതിരിക്കാൻ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക. അവ ക്രിസ്തുവിനല്ല അനുരൂപമായിരിക്കുന്നത്, മറിച്ച് ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യപാഠങ്ങൾക്കാണ്.

9 For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,

ക്രിസ്തുവിലല്ലയോ സർവദൈവികസത്തയും ഒരു മനുഷ്യശരീരമായി വസിക്കുന്നത്;

10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.

എല്ലാ ഭരണത്തിനും അധികാരത്തിനും ശിരസ്സായ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ നിങ്ങൾ പൂർണത പ്രാപിക്കുകയുംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Messiah,

നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ സ്വീകരിച്ചപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ജന്മനാലുള്ള പാപസ്വഭാവത്തെ നീക്കംചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ആത്മികപരിച്ഛേദനം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് ഒരു ശാരീരികപ്രക്രിയ അല്ല.

12 having been buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ സംസ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ മരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർപ്പിച്ച ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശക്തിയിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താൽ, ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടൊപ്പം ഉയിർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നതാണ് സ്നാനത്താൽ പ്രകടമാക്കുന്നത്.

13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

അതിക്രമങ്ങളിലും പരിച്ഛേദനം ഏൽക്കാത്ത പാപപ്രകൃതിയിലും മരിച്ചവരായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ജീവനുള്ളവരാക്കി. അതിക്രമങ്ങളെല്ലാം നമ്മോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചു;

14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.

അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളുടെ ലംഘനത്താൽ നമുക്കു വിരോധവും പ്രതികൂലവുമായിരുന്ന ലിഖിതങ്ങളെ അവിടന്ന് മായിച്ചുകളയുകയും ക്രൂശിൽ തറച്ചു നമ്മുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്തു.

15 Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

അവിടന്ന് ഭരണങ്ങളെയും അധികാരങ്ങളെയും നിരായുധരാക്കി ക്രൂശിൽ അവയുടെമേൽ ജയോത്സവം കൊണ്ടാടി; അവയെ പരസ്യമായ പ്രദർശനമാക്കി.

16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,

അതുകൊണ്ട് ഭക്ഷണപാനീയങ്ങൾ സംബന്ധിച്ചോ പെരുന്നാൾ, അമാവാസി, ശബ്ബത്ത് എന്നിവയുടെ ആചരണം സംബന്ധിച്ചോ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വിധിക്കാൻ ഇടയാകരുത്.

17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Messiah’s.

ഇവ വരാനിരുന്നവയുടെ പ്രതിരൂപംമാത്രമാണ്; എന്നാൽ യാഥാർഥ്യം ക്രിസ്തുവാണ്.

18 Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

സ്വന്തദർശനങ്ങളിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ച്, ജഡത്തിൽ ദുരഭിമാനംപൂണ്ട്, ശിരസ്സായവനിൽ മുറുകെ പിടിക്കാതെ കപടവിനയത്തിലും ദൂതന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതിലും രസിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളും നിങ്ങളെ പ്രതിഫലം നേടുന്നതിൽനിന്ന് അയോഗ്യരാക്കരുത്.

19 and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.

ശിരസ്സായ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽനിന്നാണല്ലോ ശരീരംമുഴുവനും സന്ധിബന്ധങ്ങളാലും നാഡീഞരമ്പുകളാലും ഏകീഭവിച്ചും പോഷണം സ്വീകരിച്ചും ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള വളർച്ച പ്രാപിക്കുന്നത്.

20 If you died with Messiah from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രാഥമികപ്രമാണങ്ങൾക്കു മരിച്ചുവെങ്കിൽ, എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ലൗകികരെപ്പോലെ ജീവിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്,

21 “Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”

“തൊടരുത്! രുചിക്കരുത്! പിടിക്കരുത്!” എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള ചട്ടങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇപ്പോഴും കീഴ്പ്പെടുന്നു.

22 (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?

ഇവയെല്ലാം മാനുഷികകൽപ്പനകളെയും ഉപദേശങ്ങളെയും ആശ്രയിച്ചുള്ളവയും ഉപയോഗത്താൽ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നവയുമാണ്.

23 These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body, but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

സ്വനിർമിതങ്ങളായ ആചാരങ്ങളും കപടവിനയം, ശരീരപീഡനം എന്നിവയും പ്രത്യക്ഷത്തിൽ മഹാജ്ഞാനമായി തോന്നിയേക്കാം. എന്നാൽ, ജഡാഭിലാഷങ്ങളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇവയൊന്നും പര്യാപ്തമല്ല.
