Colossians 2
1 For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Je tiens à ce que vous sachiez toute la grandeur de ce combat que je livre pour vous, pour les Laodicéens, pour tous ceux qui ne me connaissent pas de vue,
2 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Messiah,
j'y tiens pour réconforter leurs coeurs, pour que l'amour les unisse, pour qu'ils aient une intelligence riche et complète, qu'ils connaissent le mystère de Dieu, de Christ,
3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
où sont «... cachés tous les trésors» de la sagesse et de la science.
4 Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.
Je vous dis cela pour que personne ne vous trompe par de spécieux raisonnements.
5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Messiah.
Si je suis absent de corps, je suis cependant avec vous en esprit, heureux de voir votre bon ordre et la fermeté de votre foi en Christ.
6 As therefore you received Messiah Yeshua the Lord, walk in him,
Comme vous avez appris à connaître le Christ, Jésus, le Seigneur, vivez ainsi en lui,
7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
greffés, édifiés sur lui, affermis dans la foi, telle qu'on vous l'a enseignée, et montrez beaucoup de reconnaissance.
8 Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Messiah.
Faites attention à celui qui voudrait vous accaparer avec de la philosophie, trompeuse illusion, enseignement purement humain, tout élémentaire et mondain, qui n'est pas selon Christ.
9 For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,
Car c'est en lui que réside réellement toute la plénitude de la divinité.
10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
Et vous, vous êtes remplis de lui, le chef de toute autorité et de tout pouvoir.
11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Messiah,
En lui aussi vous avez été circoncis; je ne parle pas de la circoncision que font les hommes, mais de celle du Christ, du dépouillement de votre corps charnel.
12 having been buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Vous avez été ensevelis avec lui au moyen du baptême, où vous êtes aussi ressuscités avec lui, par la foi en la puissance de Dieu qui l'a ressuscité d'entre les morts.
13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
Vous étiez morts par vos péchés, et par votre incirconcision charnelle, et il vous a fait revivre avec lui; il nous a pardonné tous nos péchés,
14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.
il a effacé l'acte qui était contre nous, dont les clauses nous étaient contraires, il l'a mis de côté en le clouant sur la croix,
15 Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
il a dépouillé les autorités et les puissances, il les a victorieusement données en spectacle, il a triomphé d'elles par le Christ!
16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,
Que personne ne vienne donc vous critiquer pour un mets, une boisson, un jour de fête, de nouvelle lune ou pour des sabbats,
17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Messiah’s.
tout cela n'est que l'ombre de ce qui devait venir; la réalité est en Christ.
18 Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Ne vous laissez pas enlever votre prix par ceux qui font les humbles, rendent un culte aux anges, spéculent sur des rêveries, que leurs idées charnelles remplissent d'un vain orgueil,
19 and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.
et qui ne s'attachent pas au chef, dont le corps entier pourvu de nerfs et de muscles, et soutenu par eux, prend le développement que Dieu lui donne.
20 If you died with Messiah from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,
Si vous êtes morts avec Christ aux enseignements élémentaires et mondains, pourquoi, comme si vous viviez encore dans le monde, vous faites-vous des règlements:
21 “Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”
«Ne touche pas ceci, ne goûte pas cela; n'approche pas de ceci; tout cela te souillera, si tu en fais usage.»
22 (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
«Ce sont les hommes qui enseignent et commandent ces choses.»
23 These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body, but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Elles ont sans doute un certain air de sagesse, c'est un culte volontaire, plein d'humilité et de dureté pour le corps, mais elles n'ont aucune valeur et ne servent qu'à satisfaire les sens.
