< Acts 1 >

1 The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Yeshua began both to do and to teach,
Mu kitabo ekyasooka, munnange Teefiro, nakutegeeza ebintu byonna okuva Yesu lwe yatandika okukola emirimu gye n’okuyigiriza,
2 until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the emissaries whom he had chosen.
okutuusa ku lunaku lwe yatwalibwa mu ggulu ng’amaze okuwa abatume be, be yalonda, ebiragiro ku bwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu.
3 To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking about God’s Kingdom.
Mu nnaku amakumi ana ezaddirira, Yesu yalabikira abatume nga mulamu era n’abakakasa mu ngeri nnyingi, era buli lwe yabalabikiranga ng’ayogera nabo ku bigambo by’obwakabaka bwa Katonda.
4 Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, “Don’t depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
Awo bwe yali ng’alya nabo ekijjulo n’abalagira baleme kuva mu Yerusaalemi naye balindirire ekisuubizo kya Kitaawe. Yagamba nti, “Ekyo kye mwawulira nga mbagamba nti,
5 For Yochanan indeed immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
‘Yokaana yabatiza na mazzi, naye mmwe mujja kubatizibwa na Mwoyo Mutukuvu mu nnaku si nnyingi.’”
6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”
Awo bwe baali bakuŋŋaanye ne bamubuuza nti, “Mukama waffe, mu kiseera kino mw’onooddizaawo obwakabaka bwa Isirayiri?”
7 He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
Naye Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Okumanya entuuko oba ebiro si kyammwe, kitange kye yateekateeka mu buyinza bwe.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Naye muliweebwa amaanyi, Mwoyo Mutukuvu bw’alimala okubakkako, era munaabanga bajulirwa bange mu Yerusaalemi, ne mu Buyudaaya yonna, ne mu Samaliya okutuukira ddala ku nkomerero z’ensi.”
9 When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Bwe yamala okwogera ebigambo ebyo, ekire ne kimutwala waggulu nga balaba.
10 While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
Awo bwe baali nga batunula enkaliriza mu ggulu ng’agenda, amangwago abasajja babiri nga bambadde engoye enjeru ne balabika,
11 who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yeshua, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”
ne boogera nti, “Abasajja Abagaliraaya, lwaki muyimiridde wano nga mutunula waggulu mu ggulu? Yesu oyo abaggiddwako n’atwalibwa mu ggulu, agenda kukomawo mu ngeri y’emu nga bwe mumulabye ng’agenda mu ggulu.”
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.
Ne bakomawo e Yerusaalemi okuva ku lusozi oluyitibwa olwa Zeyituuni, oluli okumpi ne Yerusaalemi, ng’olugendo olutambulwa ku Ssabbiiti.
13 When they had come in, they went up into the upper room where they were staying, that is Peter, Yochanan, Jacob, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, Jacob the son of Halfai, Simon the Zealot, and Judah the son of Jacob.
Ne balaga mu kisenge ekya waggulu mu nnyumba mwe baali basula, era be bano: Peetero, ne Yokaana ne Yakobo, ne Andereya, ne Firipo ne Tomasi, ne Battolomaayo, ne Matayo, ne Yakobo, omwana wa Alufaayo, ne Simooni eyayitibwanga “Omuzerote”, ne Yuda, omwana wa Yakobo.
14 All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, along with the women and Miriam the mother of Yeshua, and with his brothers.
Abo bonna ne beeweerayo ddala n’omutima gumu okusaba wamu n’abakazi ne Maliyamu nnyina Yesu ne baganda ba Yesu.
15 In these days, Peter stood up in the middle of the disciples (and the number of names was about one hundred and twenty), and said,
Awo mu nnaku ezo, Peetero n’ayimirira wakati mu booluganda abaali bakuŋŋaanye nga bawera nga kikumi mu abiri, n’ayogera nti,
16 “Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judah, who was guide to those who took Yeshua.
“Abasajja abooluganda, ebyawandiikibwa ku Yuda eyakulembera ekibiina ekyakwata Yesu byali biteekwa okutuukirira; kubanga ekyo Mwoyo Mutukuvu yali yakitegeeza dda bwe yayogerera mu Dawudi.
17 For he was counted with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
Yuda yali omu ku ffe, era n’aweebwa omugabo gw’obuweereza buno.”
18 Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness; and falling headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines gushed out.
Empeera gye yafuna mu butali butuukirivu bwe, yagigulamu ennimiro, era omwo mwe yagwa n’ayabika n’ebyenda bye ne biyiika.
19 It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Hakel-Dema,’ that is, ‘The field of blood.’
Amawulire ago ne gatuuka ku bantu ab’omu Yerusaalemi, era ennimiro eyo ne bagituuma Akerudama mu lulimi lwabwe, amakulu nti, Ennimiro y’Omusaayi!
20 For it is written in the scroll of Psalms, ‘Let his habitation be made desolate. Let no one dwell in it;’ and, ‘Let another take his office.’
“Kubanga kyawandiikibwa mu Zabbuli nti, “‘Ekibanja kye kizike, so kireme okubeerangamu omuntu.’ ‘N’obuvunaanyizibwa bwe buweebwe omulala.’
21 “Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Yeshua went in and out amongst us,
Noolwekyo kigwanye okulonda omuntu mu bantu abaayitanga naffe mu biro byonna, eyayingiranga n’afuluma wamu naffe nga tuli ne Mukama waffe Yesu,
22 beginning from the immersion of Yochanan to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection.”
okuviira ddala ku kubatiza kwa Yokaana okutuusa lwe yatwalibwa mu ggulu, alyoke abeere omujulirwa ow’okuzuukira kwe awamu naffe.”
23 They put forward two: Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthiah.
Awo ne balonda abasajja babiri, omu nga ye Yusufu (eyayitibwanga Balusaba ate era nga ye Yusito), n’owokubiri nga ye Matiya.
24 They prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two you have chosen
Ne balyoka basaba ne bagamba nti, “Ayi Mukama, gw’omanyi emitima gy’abantu bonna, tulage gw’olonze ku bantu bano ababiri,
25 to take part in this ministry and office of emissary from which Judah fell away, that he might go to his own place.”
okubeera mu baweereza buno n’okubeera omutume mu kifo kya Yuda eyatwawukanako n’alaga mu kifo kye ekimusaanira.”
26 They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthiah; and he was counted with the Eleven emissaries.
Oluvannyuma ne bakuba akalulu, ne kagwa ku Matiya, n’agattibwa ku batume ekkumi n’omu.
