< Acts 7 >

1 The high priest said, “Are these things so?”
Omugabhisi omukuru naika, “amagambo ganu ni ge chimari?”
2 He said, “Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,
Stephano naika, “Bhaili na bhalata bhani, muntegereshe anye: Nyamuanga wa rikusho amusoromokeye lata weswe Abrahamu omwanya gunu aliga ali Mesopotamia, anu aliga achali kwikara Harani,
3 and said to him, ‘Get out of your land and away from your relatives, and come into a land which I will show you.’
'namubhwira, 'Soka mu chalo chao no luganda lwao ugende mu chalo chinu nilakwelesha'.
4 Then he came out of the land of the Kasdim and lived in Haran. From there, when his father was dead, God moved him into this land where you are now living.
Eile nasoka mu chalo Bhukaldayo nekala Harani, okusoka ao, anu esemwene ejile afwa, Nyamuanga namuleta mu chalo chinu, bhekayemo wori.
5 He gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on. He promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his offspring after him, when he still had no child.
Atamuyanile chone chone kuti mugabho gwaye, litabheyeo ebhara ryo kutulao nolwo kuguru. Nawe Abrahamu namuraga omurago gwo kumuyana okuitunga insi anu aliga achali kwibhula omwana ati kayabhwa omwene no rwibhulo lwaye.
6 God spoke in this way: that his offspring would live as aliens in a strange land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated for four hundred years.
Nyamuanga aikile nage kutya, ati orwibhulo lwaye abhekara munsi yo bhugenyi, na lindi abhekasi bhendeyo abhabhakora kubha bhagaya bhebhwe no kubhakorera kubhibhi mu masinja ge myaka magana gana.
7 ‘I will judge the nation to which they will be in bondage,’ said God, ‘and after that they will come out and serve me in this place.’
Ka Nyamuanga naika ati, eniliramura liyanga linu elibhakora bhagaya, okusokerera ao abhamba okundamya mwi bhara linu.
8 He gave him the covenant of circumcision. So Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.
9 “The patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt. God was with him
Bhasaja bheswe nibhamukorera lifua Yusufu mbamugusha mu chalo cha Misiri, na Nyamuanga aliga ali amwi nage,
10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. He made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
namukisha mu nyako jaye, namuyana obhwekisi no bhwengeso imbele ya Farao omukama wa Misiri. Farao namukora kubha mutungi inguru ya Misiri na inguru ya inyumba yae yone.
11 Now a famine came over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction. Our fathers found no food.
Mbe nibhao injara nene na jinyako nyafu mu chalo cha Misiri na Kanani, mbe bhalata bheswe bhatabhwene ebhiryo.
12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers the first time.
Mbe nawe Yakobo ejile ongwa ati bhiliyo ebhiryo Misiri, nabharagirira bhalata bheswe ku lwo kwamba.
13 On the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph’s family was revealed to Pharaoh.
Mu rugendo lwa kabhili Yusufu neyeresha ku bhaili bhaye, imbaga ya Yusufu nimenyekana ku Farao.
14 Joseph sent and summoned Jacob his father and all his relatives, seventy-five souls.
Yusufu nabharagirira abhaili bhaye bhagende okumubhwira Yakobo lata webhwe agende Misiri, amwi no ruganda lwaye, obhukumi bhwebhwe abhanu makumi musanju ne tanu.
15 Jacob went down into Egypt and he died, himself and our fathers;
Ku lwejo Yakobo neka Misiri; neya nafwa omwene amwi na bhalata bheswe.
16 and they were brought back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price in silver from the children of Hamor of Shechem.
Nibhagegwa okugenda Shekemu mbasikwa mu chituro echo Abrahamu agulile ne bhibhara bhya jimpirya okusoka ku bhana bha Hamori eyo Shekemu.
17 “But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
Akatungu kaliya ako omurago ogwo Nyamuanga alagire Abrahamu gwejire gwerira, abhanu bhaliga bheyongesishe eyo Misiri,
18 until there arose a different king who didn’t know Joseph.
akatungu ako emukireyo omukama undi inguru ya Misiri, omukama unu atamumenyaga Yusufu.
19 The same took advantage of our race and mistreated our fathers, and forced them to abandon their babies, so that they wouldn’t stay alive.
Omukama oundi oyo nabhajiga abhanu bheswe no kubhakorera amabhibhi bhalata bheswe, no kubhesa abhana bhebhwe abharera korereki bhatabha bhaanga.
20 At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome to God. He was nourished three months in his father’s house.
Mu masinja ago Musa ebhuywe; aliga ali we kisi ku Nyamuanga, nalelwa mesi gasatu munyumba ya lata waye.
21 When he was abandoned, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up and reared him as her own son.
Mu katungu kanu eselwe, omuyansha wa Farao namugega namulela lwo mwana waye.
22 Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He was mighty in his words and works.
Musa eigisibhwe ameigisho gone ge chi Misiri; aliga ali na managa mu kwaika ne bhikorwa.
23 But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.
Mbe nawe ejile akumisha myaka makumi gana, nongwa mu mwoyo gwaye okubhalibhatira abhaili bhaye, abhana bha Israeli.
24 Seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him and avenged him who was oppressed, striking the Egyptian.
Ejire amurora omwisraeli nakorerwa amabhibhi, Musa namwimako nasubhya risungu kuyo aliga namwibhonera kwo kumubhuma Omumisiri:
25 He supposed that his brothers understood that God, by his hand, was giving them deliverance; but they didn’t understand.
neganirisha ati abhaili bhaye abhamenya ati Nyamuanga kabhakisha no kubhoko kwaye, mbe nawe bhatamenyere.
26 “The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?’
Orusiku runu lwarubhire nagenda ku bhamwi bha Bhaisraeli bhanu bhaliga nibharwana; naregeja okubhagwatanya; naika ati, 'Bhamura, Emwe muri bhaili; kubhaki omurwana emwe bhenera kwa bhene?'
27 But he who did his neighbour wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?
Mbe nawe unu amukaiye omwikashanya waye m/namusindika kura, naika ati, “Niga unu akukorere kubha mutungi no muramusi weswe?
28 Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’
Awe owenda okunyita, lwa kutyo wameta Omumisiri ligoro?”
29 Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.
Musa nabhirima ejile ongwa kutyo; nabha mugenyi munsi ya Midiani, ao abheye lata wa bhana bhabhili.
30 “When forty years were fulfilled, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.
Jejire jaturao myaka makumi gana, malaika namusoromokera mwi bhara lye chima cha Sinai, mwi bhesi lyo muriro agati ya lisaka.
31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight. As he came close to see, the voice of the Lord came to him,
Mu katungu kanu Musa ejire arora omuriro, narugura muno no kutang'ang'ara kulwe bhiroro ebhyo alorere, mbe nawe ejire alegeja okwirira yei korereki arore, obhuraka bhwa Katabhugenyi nibhumujako nibhwaika ati,
32 ‘I am the God of your fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses trembled and dared not look.
'Anye nanye Nyamuanga wa bhesomwana bhao, Nyamuanga wa Abrahamu, no wa Isaka, no wa Yakobo.' Musa nayarara atasubhire kurorayo.
33 The Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.
Latabhugenyi namubhwira, 'Nufure ebhirato bhyao, libhara linu wimereguyu ni bhara lyeru.
34 I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’
Nalorere jinyako ja bhanu bhani bhanu Misiri; enungwa okulwara kwebhwe, anye neka korereki nibhakishe; olyanu ija, nikutume awe Misiri.'
35 “This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
Musa unu bhamuremere, omwanya gunu bhaikile ati, 'niga unu akukorere kubha mutungi no muramusi weswe?' Oyo niwe oyo Nyamuanga amutumire kwo kubhoko kwa malaika oyo amusoromokee Musa mwisaka.
36 This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Sea of Suf, and in the wilderness for forty years.
Musa abhatangasishe okusoka Misiri anu akorere amarebha ne bhibharikisho mu charo cha Misiri na munyanja ya Shamu, na mwibhara kwa masinja ga myaka makumi gana.
37 This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from amongst your brothers, like me.’
Musa unu niwe abhabhwiriye abhana bha Israeli ati, 'Nyamuanga keja okwimusha omuragi okusoka mubhamwi bha bhaili bhanyu, omuragi lwanye.'
38 This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received living revelations to give to us,
Unu niwe omunu unu aliga ali mwikofyanya lya mwibhara na malaika unu aromere nage mu chima cha Sinai. Unu niwe omunu oyo aliga ali na bhalata bheswe, unu ni munu unu aramiye omusango gunu guri muanga no kuchiyana eswe.
39 to whom our fathers wouldn’t be obedient, but rejected him and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,
Unu niwe omunu unu bhalata bheswe bharemere okumungwa; nibhamusindikira kura, na mumyoyo jebhwe nibhaindukira Misiri.
40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods that will go before us, for as for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
Mu masinja ago nibhamubhwira Haruni, 'nuchikonjere ebhiungu bhinu bhilachitangasha. Musa oyo, aliga nachitangasha okusoka mu charo cha Misiri, chitakumenya jinu jamubhona.'
41 They made a calf in those days, and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands.
Kutyo nibhakonja inana mu nsiku ejo na nibhasosha jisadaka ku chisusano echo nibhakondelwa kwo kubha ni milimu ja mabhoko gebhwe.
42 But God turned away and gave them up to serve the army of the sky, as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘Did you offer to me slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
Mbe nawe Nyamuanga abhainduye nabhayana bharamye jinyota ja murwire, lwa kutyo jandikilwe mu chitabho cha bharagi, 'Angu mwansosisishe anye jisadaka ja jintyanyi jinu mwabhagire mwi bhara mu masinja ge myaka makumi gana, inyumba ya Israeli?
43 You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship, so I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’
Mwekirisishe liyema lya Moleki na inyota ya mungu refani, ebhisusano bhinu mwekonjee no kubhiramya ebhyo: mbe nawe enija obhasira arera kura Babeli.'
44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;
Bhalata bheswe bhaliga bhali na liyema lyo kwikofyanyisha lwo bhubhambasi mwi bhara, lwa kutyo Nyamuanga aragirie anu aromere na Musa, ati akakonjere lwe chijejekanyo chinu alorere.
45 which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered into the possession of the nations whom God drove out before the face of our fathers to the days of David,
Linu ni yema linu bhalata bheswe, kwa masinja gebhwe, bhaleterwe mu charo na Joshua. Jinu jabhonekere mwisinja linu bhengiye okutunga liyanga linu Nyamuanga abhirimishe anu bhaliga bhachali kubhao bhalata bheswe. Jinu jabhee kutyo kukinga mu nsiku ja Daudi,
46 who found favour in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
unu abhwene okwikirisibhwa mu meso ga Nyamuanga, nasabhwa okuyenja obhwikaro ku Nyamuanga wa Yakobo.
47 But Solomon built him a house.
Mbe nawe Selemani amumbakiye inyumba ya Nyamuanga.
48 However, the Most High doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says,
Nolwo kutiyo unu ali inguru atakwikara mu nyumba jinu jumbakilwe na mabhoko; inu ni kutyo omuragi aikire,
49 ‘heaven is my throne, and the earth a footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build me?’ says the Lord. ‘Or what is the place of my rest?
Orwire ni chitebhe chani cho bhukama, na insi ni bhara lyo kutako amaguru gani. Inyumba nisusana kutiki inu omunyumbakira? Kaika Omukama: amwi ni bharaki lyani lyo kwisishako omwoyo?
50 Didn’t my hand make all these things?’
Kutari kubhoko kwani kunu kukorere ebhinu bhinu bhyona?
51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do.
Emwe abhanu bhe bhicha bhikomeye bhanu mutatenderwe emyoyo na matwi, bhuli katungu omumurema Omwoyo Omweru, omukora lwa kutyo bhesomwana bhakorere.
52 Which of the prophets didn’t your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.
Ni muragiki mu bharagi unu bhesomwana bhatamunyasishe? Bhabhetire abharagi bhone bhanu bhejire anu aliga achali kwija owo bhulengeresi, ka wolyanu mwabheye bharomesi bha niku na bheti bhaye,
53 You received the Torah as it was ordained by angels, and didn’t keep it!”
emwe abhanu bhanu mwaramiye echiragiro chiliya charagiriwe na malaika mbe nawe murema okuchigwata.
54 Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
Anu abhe chinyanjo bhejire bhongwa amagambo ganu, nibharumwa mu myoyo jebhwe, nibhamugugunila ameno Stefano.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Yeshua standing on the right hand of God,
Mbe nawe omwene ejuye Omwoyo Omweru, nararamira mu rwire nekeneke narora rikusho lya Nyamuanga, namurora Yesu emereguyu mu kubhoko kwo bhuryo kwa Nyamuanga.
56 and said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
Stefano naika ati, “Rora narora orwire rwigukire, no Mwana wo Munu emereguyu mu kubhoko kwe bhuryo kwa Nyamuanga.”
57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears, then rushed at him with one accord.
Mbe nawe abhe chinyanjo nibhayogana no bhuraka bhwa inguru, nibhasibhya amatwi gebhwe, nibhamubhirimira bhona amwi,
58 They threw him out of the city and stoned him. The witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
nibhamwesa anja yo musi nibhamubhuma na mabhwiyi: abharoresi nibhafura emyenda jebhwe ja anja nibhatura mu maguru go musigaji oyo abhirikirwaga Sauli.
59 They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, “Lord Yeshua, receive my spirit!”
Anu bhaliga nibhamubhuma amabhwiyi Stefano, agendeleye okumubhirikira Omukama naika ati, “Omukama Yesu, ramira omwoyo gwani.”
60 He knelt down and cried with a loud voice, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
Nafung'ama ebhiju no kubhirikira kwo bhuraka bhunene, “Omukama, utabhabharira echibhibhi chinu.” Ejile aika kutyo, nabhutura omwoyo.
