Acts 4
1 As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,
Mientras hablaban al pueblo, los sacerdotes, el jefe del templo y los saduceos se acercaron a ellos,
2 being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Yeshua the resurrection from the dead.
molestos porque enseñaban al pueblo y proclamaban en Jesús la resurrección de entre los muertos.
3 They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.
Les echaron mano y los pusieron en custodia hasta el día siguiente, pues ya era de noche.
4 But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
Pero muchos de los que oyeron la palabra creyeron, y el número de los hombres llegó a ser como cinco mil.
5 In the morning, their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
Por la mañana, se reunieron en Jerusalén sus jefes, los ancianos y los escribas.
6 Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, Yochanan, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
El sumo sacerdote Anás estaba allí, con Caifás, Juan, Alejandro y todos los parientes del sumo sacerdote.
7 When they had stood Peter and Yochanan in the middle of them, they enquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”
Cuando pusieron a Pedro y a Juan en medio de ellos, preguntaron: “¿Con qué poder o en qué nombre habéis hecho esto?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people and elders of Israel,
Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les dijo: “Señores del pueblo y ancianos de Israel,
9 if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,
si hoy somos examinados acerca de una buena obra hecha a un lisiado, por qué medio ha sido curado este hombre,
10 may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him.
que os conste a todos vosotros y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, a quien vosotros crucificasteis, y a quien Dios resucitó de entre los muertos, este hombre está aquí delante de vosotros sano.
11 He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’
Él es “la piedra que vosotros, los constructores, teníais por inútil, pero que se ha convertido en la cabeza del ángulo”.
12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!”
En ningún otro hay salvación, pues no hay bajo el cielo otro nombre dado a los hombres por el que debamos salvarnos.”
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and Yochanan, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled. They recognised that they had been with Yeshua.
Al ver la audacia de Pedro y de Juan, y al darse cuenta de que eran hombres indoctos e ignorantes, se maravillaron. Reconocieron que habían estado con Jesús.
14 Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
Al ver que el hombre que había sido curado estaba con ellos, no pudieron decir nada en contra.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred amongst themselves,
Pero cuando les ordenaron que se apartaran del consejo, consultaron entre sí,
16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.
diciendo: “¿Qué haremos con estos hombres? Porque ciertamente se ha hecho un notable milagro por medio de ellos, como lo pueden ver claramente todos los que habitan en Jerusalén, y no podemos negarlo.
17 But so that this spreads no further amongst the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”
Pero para que esto no se extienda más entre el pueblo, vamos a amenazarlos, para que de ahora en adelante no hablen con nadie en este nombre.”
18 They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Yeshua.
Los llamaron y les ordenaron que no hablaran en absoluto ni enseñaran en el nombre de Jesús.
19 But Peter and Yochanan answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
Pero Pedro y Juan les respondieron: “Si es justo a los ojos de Dios escucharos a vosotros antes que a Dios, juzgadlo vosotros mismos,
20 for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”
porque no podemos dejar de contar lo que hemos visto y oído.”
21 When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.
Cuando los amenazaron más, los dejaron ir, sin encontrar la manera de castigarlos, a causa del pueblo; porque todos glorificaban a Dios por lo que se había hecho.
22 For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
Pues el hombre en el que se realizó este milagro de curación tenía más de cuarenta años.
23 Being let go, they came to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
Al ser dejados en libertad, volvieron a su casa y contaron todo lo que les habían dicho los jefes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos.
24 When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
Cuando lo oyeron, alzaron la voz a Dios de común acuerdo y dijeron: “Señor, tú eres Dios, que hiciste el cielo, la tierra, el mar y todo lo que hay en ellos;
25 who by the mouth of your servant David, said, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
que por boca de tu siervo David, dijiste, ‘Por qué se enfurecen las naciones, ¿y los pueblos traman una cosa vana?
26 The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers plot together, against the Lord, and against his Messiah.’
Los reyes de la tierra se ponen en pie, y los gobernantes conspiran juntos, contra el Señor y contra su Cristo”.
27 “For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Yeshua, whom you anointed,
“Porque en verdad, tanto Herodes como Poncio Pilato, con los gentiles y el pueblo de Israel, se han reunido contra tu santo siervo Jesús, a quien tú ungiste,
28 to do whatever your hand and your counsel foreordained to happen.
para hacer todo lo que tu mano y tu consejo predijeron que sucediera.
29 Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
Ahora, Señor, mira sus amenazas, y concede a tus siervos que hablen tu palabra con toda valentía,
30 while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Yeshua.”
mientras extiendes tu mano para sanar, y que se hagan señales y prodigios por el nombre de tu santo Siervo Jesús.”
31 When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Cuando oraron, el lugar donde estaban reunidos se estremeció. Todos estaban llenos del Espíritu Santo, y hablaban la palabra de Dios con valentía.
32 The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
La multitud de los creyentes tenía un solo corazón y una sola alma. Ninguno de ellos pretendía que algo de lo que poseía fuera suyo, sino que tenían todo en común.
33 With great power, the emissaries gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Yeshua. Great grace was on them all.
Con gran poder, los apóstoles daban su testimonio de la resurrección del Señor Jesús. Una gran gracia estaba sobre todos ellos.
34 For neither was there amongst them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,
Porque no había entre ellos ningún necesitado, ya que todos los que poseían tierras o casas las vendían, y traían el producto de lo vendido,
35 and laid them at the emissaries’ feet; and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
y lo ponían a los pies de los apóstoles; y se repartía a cada uno según su necesidad.
36 Yosi, who by the emissaries was also called Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,
Josés, a quien los apóstoles llamaban también Bernabé (que es, interpretado, Hijo del Consolación), levita, hombre de raza chipriota,
37 having a field, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the emissaries’ feet.
que tenía un campo, lo vendió, trajo el dinero y lo puso a los pies de los apóstoles.
