Acts 11
1 Now the emissaries and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
Apostołowie i bracia, którzy byli w Judei, usłyszeli, że również poganie przyjęli słowo Boże.
2 When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
A gdy Piotr przybył do Jerozolimy, spierali się z nim ci, którzy pochodzili z obrzezania;
3 saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”
Mówiąc: Wszedłeś do ludzi nieobrzezanych i jadłeś z nimi.
4 But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
Wtedy Piotr zaczął po kolei im wyjaśniać:
5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
Będąc w mieście Jafie, modliłem się i w zachwyceniu miałem widzenie – jakiś przedmiot zstępujący, jakby wielkie płótno, za cztery rogi [uwiązane i] spuszczone z nieba, i dotarło aż do mnie.
6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
Wpatrzywszy się w nie uważnie, przyjrzałem się i zobaczyłem czworonożne [zwierzęta] ziemskie, bestie, gady i ptaki nieba.
7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
I usłyszałem głos mówiący do mnie: Wstań, Piotrze, zabijaj i jedz.
8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
I odpowiedziałem: Żadną miarą, Panie, bo nigdy niczego pospolitego lub nieczystego nie wziąłem do ust.
9 But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
Wtedy głos z nieba odezwał się po raz drugi: Tego, co Bóg oczyścił, nie uważaj za nieczyste.
10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
A to się stało trzy razy, po czym to wszystko zostało wciągnięte z powrotem do nieba.
11 Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
I zaraz trzej mężczyźni posłani do mnie z Cezarei stanęli przed domem, w którym byłem.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
I powiedział mi Duch, abym z nimi poszedł bez wahania. Szło też ze mną tych sześciu braci i weszliśmy do domu tego człowieka.
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
On nam opowiedział, jak ujrzał w swoim domu anioła, który stanął i powiedział do niego: Poślij ludzi do Jafy i przywołaj Szymona, zwanego Piotrem.
14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
On ci powie słowa, przez które będziesz zbawiony, ty i cały twój dom.
15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
A gdy zacząłem mówić, zstąpił na nich Duch Święty, tak jak na nas na początku.
16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘Yochanan indeed immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit.’
I przypomniałem słowo Pana, gdy powiedział: Jan chrzcił wodą, ale wy będziecie ochrzczeni Duchem Świętym.
17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
Jeśli więc Bóg dał im ten sam dar co nam, którzy uwierzyliśmy w Pana Jezusa Chrystusa, kim ja jestem, abym mógł zabronić Bogu?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
A usłyszawszy to, uspokoili się i chwalili Boga, mówiąc: A więc i poganom dał Bóg pokutę ku życiu.
19 They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
Lecz ci, których rozproszyło prześladowanie, jakie wybuchło z powodu Szczepana, dotarli aż do Fenicji, na Cypr i do Antiochii, nie głosząc słowa [Bożego] nikomu, tylko Żydom.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, proclaiming the Lord Yeshua.
A niektórzy z nich, mężczyźni z Cypru i Cyreny, gdy przybyli do Antiochii, mówili do hellenistów, głosząc Pana Jezusa.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
I była z nimi ręka Pana, a wielka ich liczba uwierzyła i nawróciła się do Pana.
22 The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
I wieść o nich dotarła do uszu kościoła, który był w Jerozolimie. I posłano Barnabę aż do Antiochii.
23 who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
Gdy tam przybył i ujrzał łaskę Boga, uradował się i zachęcał wszystkich, aby zgodnie z postanowieniem serca trwali przy Panu.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
Był to bowiem mąż dobry, pełen Ducha Świętego i wiary. I przybyło Panu mnóstwo [ludzi].
25 Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
Potem Barnaba udał się do Tarsu, aby szukać Saula.
26 When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Messianic in Antioch.
A gdy go znalazł, przyprowadził go do Antiochii. Przez cały rok zbierali się z tym kościołem i nauczali wielu [ludzi]. W Antiochii też po raz pierwszy uczniów nazwano chrześcijanami.
27 Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
A w tych dniach przybyli z Jerozolimy do Antiochii prorocy.
28 One of them named Agabus stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
I jeden z nich, imieniem Agabos, powstał i oznajmił przez Ducha, że w całej ziemi nastanie wielki głód. Nastał on za cesarza Klaudiusza.
29 As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
Wtedy uczniowie, każdy z nich według swoich możliwości, postanowili posłać pomoc do braci, którzy mieszkali w Judei.
30 which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
Tak też zrobili, posyłając [ją] starszym przez ręce Barnaby i Saula.
