2 Samuel 16
1 When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.
Cuando David pasó un poco más allá de la cumbre, ahí estaba Siba, esclavo de Mefi-boset, que llegaba a encontrarlo con un par de asnos cargados con 200 panes, 100 racimos de pasas, 100 tortas de higos secos y un odre de vino.
2 The king said to Ziba, “What do you mean by these?” Ziba said, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.”
El rey preguntó a Siba: ¿Qué quieres con estas cosas? Y respondió Siba: Los asnos son para que monte la familia del rey, el pan y los higos secos para que coman los jóvenes, y el vino, para que beban los que se cansen en la región despoblada.
3 The king said, “Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”
El rey dijo: ¿Dónde está el hijo de tu ʼadon? Y Siba respondió al rey: Mira, se quedó en Jerusalén porque dijo: ¡Hoy mismo la casa de Israel me devolverá el reino de mi padre!
4 Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that belongs to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I bow down. Let me find favour in your sight, my lord, O king.”
Entonces el rey dijo a Siba: ¡Mira, todo lo que pertenece a Mefi-boset es tuyo! Y Siba dijo: ¡Oh rey ʼadón mío, me postro y espero hallar gracia ante ti!
5 When King David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of Saul’s house came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out and cursed as he came.
Al llegar el rey David a Bahurim, salía de allí un hombre de la familia de la casa de Saúl llamado Simei, hijo de Gera. Mientras salía pronunciaba maldiciones
6 He cast stones at David and at all the servants of King David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
y lanzaba piedras contra David y contra todos los esclavos del rey David, cuando toda la gente y todos los hombres valientes marchaban a su derecha y a su izquierda.
7 Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and wicked fellow!
Al maldecir, Simei decía: ¡Fuera! ¡Fuera, hombre sanguinario y perverso!
8 The LORD has returned on you all the blood of Saul’s house, in whose place you have reigned! The LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”
Yavé hizo volver sobre ti toda la sangre derramada de la casa de Saúl, en lugar del cual reinaste. Yavé entregó el reino en mano de tu hijo Absalón, y aquí estás [atrapado] en tu propia maldad, porque eres un hombre sanguinario.
9 Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”
Entonces Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, preguntó al rey: ¿Por qué este perro muerto debe seguir maldiciendo a mi ʼadón el rey? ¡Permíteme ir y cortarle la cabeza!
10 The king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because the LORD has said to him, ‘Curse David,’ who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’”
Pero el rey respondió: ¿Qué tengo yo con ustedes, hijos de Sarvia? Dejen que sigan sus maldiciones, si él maldice. Si Yavé le dijo: ¡Maldice a David! ¿Quién le dirá: por qué haces esto?
11 David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him.
David dijo a Abisai y a todos sus esclavos: Ciertamente mi propio hijo, que salió de mí, acecha mi vida. ¿Cuánto más ahora este benjamita? Déjenlo maldecir, porque Yavé se lo dijo.
12 It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done to me, and that the LORD will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
Quizás Yavé mire mi aflicción y me devuelva bien por sus maldiciones de hoy.
13 So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went, threw stones at him, and threw dust.
Así que, mientras David y sus hombres iban por el camino, Simei seguía por la ladera de la montaña paralela, andaba, maldecía, tiraba piedras y esparcía polvo delante de él.
14 The king and all the people who were with him arrived weary; and he refreshed himself there.
El rey y todo el pueblo que estaba con él llegaron fatigados y descansaron allí.
15 Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
Absalón con toda su gente, los hombres de Israel, entraron en Jerusalén, junto con Ahitofel.
16 When Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
Sucedió que cuando Husai arquita, el amigo de David, llegó ante Absalón, Husai dijo a Absalón: ¡Viva el rey! ¡Viva el rey!
17 Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”
Absalón preguntó a Husai: ¿Es ésta tu lealtad para tu amigo? ¿Por qué no acompañaste a tu amigo?
18 Hushai said to Absalom, “No; but whomever the LORD and this people and all the men of Israel have chosen, I will be his, and I will stay with him.
Husai dijo entonces a Absalón: No, porque [yo soy] de quien Yavé y este pueblo, todos los hombres de Israel, escojan. De él soy y con él me quedo.
19 Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so I will be in your presence.”
Además, ¿a quién voy a servir? ¿No serviré a su hijo? Como serví delante de tu padre, así estaré delante de ti.
20 Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel what we shall do.”
Entonces Absalón dijo a Ahitofel: Da tu consejo sobre lo que debemos hacer.
21 Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”
Ahitofel contestó a Absalón: Únete a las concubinas que tu padre dejó para cuidar la casa. Así todo Israel sabrá que eres aborrecible a tu padre, con lo cual se fortalecerán las manos de todos los tuyos.
22 So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
Entonces instalaron una tienda para Absalón sobre la terraza, y Absalón se unió a las concubinas de su padre a ojos de todo Israel.
23 The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man enquired at the inner sanctuary of God. All the counsel of Ahithophel was like this both with David and with Absalom.
En aquellos días el consejo que Ahitofel daba era como si uno consultara la Palabra de ʼElohim. Así era todo lo que Ahitofel aconsejaba, tanto para David como para Absalón.
