2 Samuel 13
1 After this, Absalom the son of David had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
Después de esto, Absalón, hijo de David, tenía una hermosa hermana que se llamaba Tamar, y Amnón, hijo de David, la amaba.
2 Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.
Amnón se preocupó tanto que enfermó a causa de su hermana Tamar, pues ella era virgen, y a Amnón le parecía difícil hacerle algo.
3 But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother; and Jonadab was a very subtle man.
Pero Amnón tenía un amigo que se llamaba Jonadab, hijo de Simea, hermano de David; y Jonadab era un hombre muy sutil.
4 He said to him, “Why, son of the king, are you so sad from day to day? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”
Le dijo: “¿Por qué, hijo del rey, estás tan triste de un día para otro? ¿No quieres decírmelo?” Amnón le dijo: “Amo a Tamar, la hermana de mi hermano Absalón”.
5 Jonadab said to him, “Lay down on your bed and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to see you, tell him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”
Jonadab le dijo: “Acuéstate en tu cama y finge estar enfermo. Cuando tu padre venga a verte, dile: ‘Por favor, que venga mi hermana Tamar y me dé pan para comer, y prepara la comida a mi vista, para que la vea y la coma de su mano’.”
6 So Amnon lay down and faked being sick. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let my sister Tamar come and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”
Entonces Amnón se acostó y fingió estar enfermo. Cuando el rey vino a verlo, Amnón le dijo al rey: “Por favor, que venga mi hermana Tamar y me haga un par de pasteles en mi presencia, para que coma de su mano.”
7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, “Go now to your brother Amnon’s house, and prepare food for him.”
Entonces David envió a casa a Tamar, diciendo: “Ve ahora a casa de tu hermano Amnón y prepárale comida”.
8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was lying down. She took dough, kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes.
Así que Tamar fue a la casa de su hermano Amnón, que estaba acostado. Ella tomó masa, la amasó, hizo pasteles a la vista de él, y horneó los pasteles.
9 She took the pan and poured them out before him, but he refused to eat. Amnon said, “Have all men leave me.” Then every man went out from him.
Tomó la sartén y las sirvió delante de él, pero éste se negó a comer. Amnón dijo: “Que todos los hombres me dejen”. Entonces todos los hombres se alejaron de él.
10 Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the room, that I may eat from your hand.” Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the room to Amnon her brother.
Amnón dijo a Tamar: “Trae la comida a la habitación, para que coma de tu mano”. Tamar tomó las tortas que había hecho y se las llevó a la habitación a su hermano Amnón.
11 When she had brought them near to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, lie with me, my sister!”
Cuando se las acercó para que comiera, él la agarró y le dijo: “¡Ven, acuéstate conmigo, hermana mía!”
12 She answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me! For no such thing ought to be done in Israel. Don’t you do this folly!
Ella le respondió: “¡No, hermano mío, no me obligues! Porque no se debe hacer tal cosa en Israel. ¡No hagas esta locura!
13 As for me, where would I carry my shame? And as for you, you will be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.”
En cuanto a mí, ¿dónde voy a llevar mi vergüenza? Y en cuanto a ti, serás como uno de los necios de Israel. Ahora, pues, por favor, habla con el rey; porque él no me negará nada”.
14 However, he would not listen to her voice; but being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.
Pero él no quiso escuchar su voz, sino que, siendo más fuerte que ella, la forzó y se acostó con ella.
15 Then Amnon hated her with exceedingly great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”
Entonces Amnón la odió con un odio muy grande, pues el odio con que la odiaba era mayor que el amor con que la había amado. Amnón le dijo: “¡Levántate, vete!”
16 She said to him, “Not so, because this great wrong in sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me!” But he would not listen to her.
Ella le dijo: “¡No, porque este gran agravio al despedirme es peor que el otro que me hiciste!” Pero él no quiso escucharla.
17 Then he called his servant who ministered to him, and said, “Now put this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.”
Entonces llamó a su criado, que le servía, y le dijo: “Aparta ahora a esta mujer de mí y echa el cerrojo tras ella.”
18 She had a garment of various colours on her, for the king’s daughters who were virgins dressed in such robes. Then his servant brought her out and bolted the door after her.
Llevaba un vestido de varios colores, pues las hijas del rey que eran vírgenes se vestían con tales ropas. Entonces su criado la sacó y cerró la puerta tras ella.
19 Tamar put ashes on her head, and tore her garment of various colours that was on her; and she laid her hand on her head and went her way, crying aloud as she went.
Tamar se puso ceniza en la cabeza y se rasgó el vestido de varios colores que llevaba puesto; se puso la mano en la cabeza y se fue, llorando en voz alta mientras se iba.
20 Absalom her brother said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother. Don’t take this thing to heart.” So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.
Su hermano Absalón le dijo: “¿Amnón, tu hermano, ha estado contigo? Pero ahora calla, hermana mía. Él es tu hermano. No te tomes esto a pecho”. Así que Tamar se quedó desolada en casa de su hermano Absalón.
21 But when King David heard of all these things, he was very angry.
Pero cuando el rey David se enteró de todas estas cosas, se enojó mucho.
22 Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
Absalón no hablaba con Amnón ni bien ni mal, porque Absalón odiaba a Amnón porque había forzado a su hermana Tamar.
23 After two full years, Absalom had sheep shearers in Baal Hazor, which is beside Ephraim; and Absalom invited all the king’s sons.
Después de dos años completos, Absalón tenía esquiladores de ovejas en Baal Hazor, que está junto a Efraín; y Absalón invitó a todos los hijos del rey.
24 Absalom came to the king and said, “See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”
Absalón fue a ver al rey y le dijo: “Mira ahora, tu siervo tiene esquiladores de ovejas. Por favor, deja que el rey y sus siervos vayan con tu siervo”.
25 The king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let’s not all go, lest we be burdensome to you.” He pressed him; however he would not go, but blessed him.
El rey dijo a Absalón: “No, hijo mío, no vayamos todos, no vaya a ser que seamos una carga para ti”. Lo presionó; sin embargo, no quiso ir, sino que lo bendijo.
26 Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” The king said to him, “Why should he go with you?”
Entonces Absalón dijo: “Si no, deja que mi hermano Amnón venga con nosotros”. El rey le dijo: “¿Por qué ha de ir contigo?”.
27 But Absalom pressed him, and he let Amnon and all the king’s sons go with him.
Pero Absalón lo presionó, y dejó que Amnón y todos los hijos del rey se fueran con él.
28 Absalom commanded his servants, saying, “Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, ‘Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”
Absalón ordenó a sus siervos, diciendo: “Fíjense ahora, cuando el corazón de Amnón esté alegre por el vino; y cuando yo les diga: ‘Golpeen a Amnón’, entonces mátenlo. No tengáis miedo. ¿No te lo he ordenado? Sé valiente, y sé valeroso”.
29 The servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man got up on his mule and fled.
Los siervos de Absalón hicieron con Amnón lo que éste les había ordenado. Entonces todos los hijos del rey se levantaron, y cada uno subió a su mula y huyó.
30 While they were on the way, the news came to David, saying, “Absalom has slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left!”
Mientras iban de camino, llegó a David la noticia: “¡Absalón ha matado a todos los hijos del rey, y no queda ni uno de ellos!”
31 Then the king arose, and tore his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes torn.
Entonces el rey se levantó, se rasgó las vestiduras y se echó en tierra; y todos sus servidores estaban con las vestiduras rasgadas.
32 Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, answered, “Don’t let my lord suppose that they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for Amnon only is dead; for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
Jonadab hijo de Simea, hermano de David, respondió: “No deje mi señor suponer que han matado a todos los jóvenes, hijos del rey, pues sólo Amnón ha muerto; porque por designación de Absalón esto ha sido determinado desde el día en que forzó a su hermana Tamar.
33 Now therefore don’t let my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead; for only Amnon is dead.”
Ahora, pues, que mi señor el rey no se tome el asunto a pecho, para pensar que todos los hijos del rey han muerto, pues sólo Amnón ha muerto.”
34 But Absalom fled. The young man who kept the watch lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, many people were coming by way of the hillside behind him.
Pero Absalón huyó. El joven que vigilaba levantó los ojos y miró, y he aquí que por la ladera del monte venía mucha gente detrás de él.
35 Jonadab said to the king, “Behold, the king’s sons are coming! It is as your servant said.”
Jonadab dijo al rey: “¡Mira que vienen los hijos del rey! Es como dijo tu siervo”.
36 As soon as he had finished speaking, behold, the king’s sons came, and lifted up their voices and wept. The king also and all his servants wept bitterly.
Tan pronto como terminó de hablar, he aquí que los hijos del rey venían, y alzaban la voz y lloraban. También el rey y todos sus servidores lloraron amargamente.
37 But Absalom fled and went to Talmai the son of Ammihur, king of Geshur. David mourned for his son every day.
Pero Absalón huyó y se fue a Talmai, hijo de Ammihur, rey de Gesur. David lloraba a su hijo todos los días.
38 So Absalom fled and went to Geshur, and was there three years.
Así que Absalón huyó y se fue a Guesur, y estuvo allí tres años.
39 King David longed to go out to Absalom, for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.
El rey David anhelaba salir a ver a Absalón, pues estaba consolado por Amnón, ya que había muerto.
